Born on Sept. 28, 1920, in Queensbury, he was the son of the late Homer and Ledia (Welch) Burt. On Sept. 22, 1945, he married Thea French at the Warrensburg Methodist Church. Mr. Burt was a self employed carpenter and also was the carpenter for the Glens Falls City School system, where he was known as the "keeper of the keys." He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, hiker, enjoyed old cars, his guitar and in his younger days, he loved to ride his Harley. He enjoyed playing the organ, travel and most of all, he was dedicated to his family In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Adam Zachary Burt, two brothers, Edward Burt and Winston Burt, and four sisters: Myrtle Giles, Ruth Burt, Martha Burt and Agnes Burt. Survivors in addition to his wife of almost 60 years, Thea Burt of Queensbury, include his children: Clarence Burt Jr. and his wife, Dorothy, of Lake George, Lester Burt of Lake George, and Beverly Corentto and her husband, Michael, of Argyle; four grandchildren: Lynette Joseph, Reed Burt, Carla Layton and Lesley Burt; his great-grandchildren, Katherine Joseph, John Joseph, Sarah Burt, Daniel Burt, Zachary Layton and Rachel Layton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Thursday at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., with the Rev. Lamont Robinson, pastor of the Harrisena Community Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Pine View Cemetery in the town of Queensbury. Cline, Sarah Shorr GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Sarah Shorr Cline passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, in Gainesville, Fla., after a long illness. She was born July 6, 1913, in Woonsocket, R.I. Sarah was the daughter of the late Isaac and Rachel Shorr. She moved to Glens Falls after marrying her husband, the late Attorney Leo E. Cline. Sarah was very active in the community in Glens Falls. She served as a volunteer at the Glens Falls Hospital and was treasurer of Temple Beth-El and president of the Temple Sisterhood. She was very active in planning community Seders in Glens Falls. Sarah was a vibrant person who easily drew people to her. She was ebullient in all she did and brought laughter wherever she went. Sarah is survived by her three children, Roanne Coplin of Gainesville, Fla., Ina Fritsch of Viera, Fla., and Max Cline of Albany, Calif.; two sons-in-law, Lawrence Coplin and Robert Fritsch; and a daughter-in-law, Carol Beck Cline; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by two brothers, Joseph Shorr of Woonsocket, R.I., and Sanford Shorr, of Meriden, Conn., three sisters-in-law, Frances and Flora Shorr and Ethel Cline; and many nieces and nephews. Her family was with her when she passed away. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Aug. 11, at Temple Beth-El Cemetery in South Glens Falls, with Rabbi Richard Sobel officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury. Published in the Post-Star on 8/10/2005. Glebus, Anthony M. WITHERBEE -- Anthony M. Glebus, 89, of Silver Hill Road, Witherbee, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2005. He was the youngest son born to Lithuanian immigrants, Matthew and Katherine (Dembrosky) Glebus, in Witherbee on June 12, 1916. Mr. Glebus was retired from Republic Steel Corporation after a 38-year service. Before his employment, he worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps under the Franklin Roosevelt Administration, planting trees throughout the north country. He had resided winters in Vero Beach, Fla. for the past 23 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and had a passion for bowling and baseball. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Florence (Trudeau) Glebus; his two sons, Anthony Glebus of Lewis and Gary Glebus of Schroon Lake; his sister, Anna Podres of Witherbee; his grandchildren, Tim, Scott and Geoffrey; his great-grandchildren, Jake and Tara; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Matthew and John Glebus. Arrangements were made under the direction of Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. Burial was at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Moriah, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Church in Mineville on Friday, July 22. Pallbearers were: grandsons, Tim Glebus, Scott Glebus and Geoffrey Glebus, and nephews, Michael Glebus, Tom Podres and John Glebus. Published in the Post-Star on 8/10/2005.
