Born on Dec. 3, 1956, in Albany, he was the son of Ruth (Osgood) Gustafson and the late Fletcher "Gus" Gustafson. David was a 1975 graduate of South Glens Falls High School, and a 1981 graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. He was the corporate pilot for Tex Edwards Co., Inc., in Pensacola, Fla. David's life was centered on flying and aviation. He built and flew his own plane. Survivors in addition to his mother, Ruth Gustafson, of South Glens Falls include one sister, Susan Gustafson-Byrne and her husband, Timothy, of Vermont; a niece, Aislinn and a nephew, Devlin, both of Vermont; one aunt, Helen Osgood of Syracuse; and several cousins. There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls. Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery in the town of Queensbury. David's family suggests that memorials in his memory be made to the Hadji Shriner's Children's Transportation Fund, 800 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534-1858. Published in the Post-Star on 8/11/2005. Prosser, James C. STONY CREEK -- James C. Prosser, 20, better known as J.C., of Hadley Road, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, in Stony Creek. Born April 20, 1985, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Linda Tennant of Pottersville and Darryl Prosser Sr. of Queensbury. J.C. attended North Warren and Warrensburg Central School districts. His favorite pastimes included camping, hunting, fishing, drawing with his close friend, Cricket Ward, and hanging out with friends and family. His grandmothers, Ruth Prosser and Daisy Younes, grandfather, Herbert Ball and his stepfather, Robert Tennant, have all predeceased him. Survivors besides his parents include, his grandmother, Athora Steele, grandfather, Curtis Prosser, his brothers: Darryl Prosser Jr. and his companion, Rebecca Templeton, Clifford Johnson IV, and Lance Johnson; his sisters, Brenda Johnson, Kimberly Prosser and Crystal Prosser; stepmother, Regina Prosser; two stepbrothers, Clifford Johnson III and Jonathan Johnson; one stepsister, Tammy Johnson and her fiance, Willis Mason; two nieces, Sierra Prosser and Kimberly Johnson; two nephews, Darren Prosser and William Mason; his close friend and roommate, Doreen Ross; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call on J.C.'s family from 12 to 2 p.m. Friday at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Anselmo, deacon of the Victory Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Warrensburg Cemetery. Published in the Post-Star on 8/11/2005. Viele, Grace E. (Nailor) ALBANY -- Grace E. (Nailor) Viele, 82, died peacefully Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at Teresian House, after a long illness. She was born in Schenectady on Feb. 22, 1923, to the late Elizabeth Lathwood Nailor and George D. Nailor. Grace was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. During World War II, she worked at the Army Depot. In May, 1946 she married the love of her life, the late Ernest "Bud" Viele. They moved to Glens Falls, where she volunteered at St. Alphonsus School. After moving to Albany in 1957, Grace worked at Farm Family Insurance Co. After her retirement, she worked part time at New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. Her interests included travel, golf, cooking, ceramics, crocheting, painting and her volunteer work at the Veteran's Hospital and St. Catherine's parish. Grace was a member of the American Legion Post 1040 in Delmar, the Albany Elks Lodge No. 49 and the Grandmother's Club. Grace's first love and commitment was her family. Survivors include her son Glenn and his wife, Joan, of Albany; grandchildren, Bridget (Steve) Pardo of Latham, and Brian, Megan and Kathryn Viele; great-grandchildren, Steven, Ryan and Olivia Pardo and Bailey Engel; a sister of Joan (Joseph) of Montpelier, Vt.; aunt of Susan (Robert) Schnitman of Colchester, Conn., and Michael Healy of Montpelier; great-aunt of Lauren and Katherine Schnitman. Grace was an extended member of the Vickers family. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of the second floor of the Teresian House and to St. Peter's Hospice Home Care. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:15 a.m. at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen St., Albany. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine of Siena Church. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
