"Mac" HARTFORD -- Malcolm J. "Mac" Atkinson, 85, of Hartford, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at the Samuel Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, after a short illness. Born on April 13, 1920, in Pawlet, Vt., he was the son of the late Ernest R. and Edith (Bradway) Atkinson. Mac was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the 36th Division during World War II. He was a prisoner of war for a year and a half. For his meritorious service and injuries received in the line of duty, Mac was awarded The Purple and Two Bronze Stars. His wife of 63 years, Louise Atkinson, passed away in April of 2003. Mac worked for Sandy Hill Iron & Brass in Hudson Falls, for more than 30 years. He was a member of the South Hartford Congregational Church, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6196 in Queensbury, a member of the Anolia Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, a lifetime member of the Texas 36th Division Association, a member of the Herschel Lodge No. 508 of the Free and Accepted Masons, the American Society of Dowsers and a charter member of the Hartford Fish & Game Club and Rifle team. According to Mac's family, he loved helping people. He enjoyed living on his mountain and being with his family. Mac also loved hunting and fishing. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Ernest Atkinson and a sister, Shirley Atkinson. Survivors include his three daughters, Marlene Moore and her husband, Thomas, of Hartford, Mary Ellen Pike and her husband, William, of Hartford and Anita Butler and her husband, David, of Provincetown, Mass.; his four grandchildren, David Pike and his wife, Olivia, Tonya Wright and her husband, Chris, Julie Pike and Carrie Atchison and her husband, Fred; his four great-grandchildren, Jackson Pepper, Fiona Atchison, Ethan Pike and Cedar Lim; his sister, Laura Sweet of Hudson Falls; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and many very dear friends. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls. Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, following the calling hours at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Richards, pastor of the Hartford Yoked Parish, officiating. Burial will be in Pine View Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Beaudet, Androneke "Andy" LAKE GEORGE -- Androneke "Andy" Beaudet, 62, of Alden Drive, passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005, at the Glens Falls Hospital following a short illness. Born on Sept. 20, 1942, in Lake George, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Leda ( Stacy) Fish. Andy graduated from Lake George High School Class of 1960, and attended Oneonta State College. She was employed by the Warren County Municipal Center as a records clerk for more than 19 years. Andy was a member and past president of Lake George American Legion Post 374 Auxiliary, a member and past president of Warren County American Legion, a member of Lake George Fire Department Auxiliary, Lake George Historical Association, Lake George High School Alumni Association, and the Lake George Winter Carnival Committee. Besides her parents she was predeceased by three brothers, David, Eugene and Richard Fish. Survivors include one daughter, Angela Vernum and her husband, Gary, of Fort Drum; three sons, Clay F. Beaudet and his wife, Deidre, of Kingsport, Tenn., Mark Beaudet of Lake George, and Theodore Beaudet of Lake George; the father of her children, Clay A. Beaudet; three sisters, Grace MacDonald of Lake George, Reta Lesko of Huntington, Conn., and Marilyn Mazzeo and her husband, Mario "Doc," of Lake George; seven grandchildren, James Vernum, Joey Vernum, Zachary Beaudet, Kyle Beaudet, David Beaudet, Alicia Hanten, and Kristi-Lin Blackmer; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Lucas Hanten, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at the St. James Episcopal Church, Montcalm Street, Lake George with the Rev. Julie McPartlin, rector, officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Birch Avenue, Lake George. The Lake George American Legion will conduct a service at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Hammond, Ethel Morris MIDDLE GRANVILLE -- Ethel Morris Hammond, 87, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at Rutland Regional Medical Center. Born Oct. 25, 1917, in Pawlet, Vt., she was the daughter of Verna and Wilson Woodell. Mrs. Hammond was employed at Indian River Nursing Home for 35 years and a member of the Middle Granville Presbyterian Church. A daughter, Norma Mason, a sister, Elizabeth Thomas, and two brothers, Wilson Woodell and Alfred Morris died before her. Survivors include four sons, Lawrence Hammond and Fred Hammond of Middle Granville, Don Hammond of Fort Ann, and Billy Hammond of Truthville; two daughters, Virginia Armer of West Granville and Karen Hammond of Middle Granville; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; and a special son-in-law, Gerry Mason of Pawlet, Vt. Calling hours will be at the Middle Granville Presbyterian Church from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday with the funeral service directly after with the Rev. Jerry McKinney and the Rev. Don Pepper officiating. Haren, Ethel Fowler Schuylerville -- Ethel Fowler Haren of Church Street died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital after a short illness. Born in Victory, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Fowler. A graduate of Schuylerville High School and Eastman Business School, her career in banking included Schuylerville National Bank, as well as Hudson Mortgage. She retired from Home Savings Bank in Greenwich where she worked as a mortgage originator. She was also a member of The American Institution of Banking. After retirement she was the treasurer of the General Schuyler Emergency Squad for three years. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, and traveling. One of her biggest joys was spending her summers at the family's summer home on Cossayuna Lake. She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1993, as well as two sisters and one brother, all of the Schuylerville/Saratoga area. She is survived by two sons, Rob Haren and his partner, David Bassani, of Schuylerville, and William Haren and his wife, Becky, of Denver, N.C.; also three grandchildren, Marc of Denver, N.C., Stacey of Richmond, Va., and Doreen of Charlotte, N.C. There are no calling hours and graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. The family requests that no flowers be sent. Robinson, 81, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Born in Akron, Ohio, he lived in Camillus for 46 years. Larry served in the Navy, including submarine duty, during World War II for which he earned the Conspicuous Service Cross. Pride runs deep. He was employed as vice president of DPC Corp. Larry was a daily communicant, Eucharistic minister, server and counter at St. Joseph's Church. He was past commander and treasurer of the American Legion Knifetown Post 1540 as well as a member of the U.S. Submarine Veterans of World War II Association. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels, the VA Hospital and the local food pantry. Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Holligan Robinson; children, Kevin Robinson of Cicero, Susan Robinson Shockey of Syracuse, Deborah Coon of Marietta, Ga., Mary Kay Ferguson of Cleveland, Ohio and Sharon Farrell of South Glens Falls; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Robert Robinson, of Bastrop, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 West Genesee St., Camillus, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated.
