"Bo Bo" QUEENSBURY -- Anthony B. "Bo Bo" Barber, 44, of Queensbury, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at his home. Born Oct. 9, 1960, in New York City, he was the son of Lucille Barber and the late Dennis Barber. He was employed at B.D.P. as a certified Welder. Anthony loved listening to music and playing sports; he would play basketball in the summer with friends. Most of all, he was happiest being a loving husband and stepfather. Anthony was a fun-loving guy who would brighten up a room. We may have lost an incredible man, but Anthony B. Barber will always be remembered and loved. Besides his mother, he also left behind a loving wife, Billie-Jo Barber and two stepdaughters, Sara Bennett and Tara Bennett; and a cat, Cookie. Anthony also had seven brothers and sisters, Kim Barber, Lisa Barber, Denise Barber, Sheila Barber, Dennis Barber, Jack Barber and Christopher Barber; 21 nieces and nephews and five great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., today, Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury, with the Rev. Flossie Gage Bates officiating. Bocchi Sr., 90, formerly of William Street, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at the Fort Hudson Health Care Center in Fort Edward. Born on Aug. 4, 1914, in Hudson Falls, Bill was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Serra) Bocchi. On Oct. 3, 1936, he married Susan M. Yannaci at St. Mary's Church, in Glens Falls. His wife of 66 years passed away on Nov. 6, 2002. For 40 years, Bill and his brother Harry owned and operated Bocchi Brothers Service Center on Burgoyne Avenue in Hudson Falls, until retirement in 1982. He was very well-liked at the garage by many of his loyal customers for his honesty and sense of humor. Bill enjoyed traveling to California with his wife to visit his sister-in-law, Mary Fratamico and her husband, John. He spent several summer vacations with his family at Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. Bill took great pride in maintaining his home and yard. He loved tending to his vegetable garden. According to his family, Bill grew the best lettuce and Italian dandelions in town. He was a communicant of St. Mary's/St. Paul's Church in Hudson Falls. Besides his parents and wife, Bill was predeceased by three brothers, Charles Bocchi, Amerigo Bocchi and Julian Bocchi. Survivors include his two sons, William J. Bocchi Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of Rome, N.Y. and Thomas A. Bocchi Sr. and his wife, Mary, of Hudson Falls; one daughter, Mary Jane Bocchi Legault of Hudson Falls; six grandchildren, Maria Brooks, Michael Bocchi, and William Bocchi III, all of Rome and Timothy Bocchi of Ossining, N.Y., Thomas A. Bocchi Jr. and Michelle Nolette, both of Hudson Falls; seven great grandchildren, Travis Kozak, Dallas Kozak, Matthew Brooks, Sarah Bocchi, Telyn Bocchi, Abbie Brunelle and Megan Brunelle; two sisters, Rose Nassivera and Lucy Linindoll, both of Fort Edward; a brother, Harry Bocchi of Fort Ann; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. ARGYLE -- Kenneth G. Bristol, 79, of Pleasant Valley Road, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at the Glens Falls Hospital. Born on Sept. 8, 1925, in Argyle, he was the son of the late Everett and Lizzie (Barker) Bristol. Kenneth was a 1942 graduate of Argyle High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947 in the Alaska Communication Division, and was stationed in Seattle, Wash. From 1947 until his retirement in 1987, Ken was employed by the National Bank of Argyle, which is presently known as HSBC, retiring as the assistant vice president. He was a member of the Herschel Argyle Lodge No. 508 Free and Accepted Masons since 1957 and served as Master and as District Deputy Grand Master of Washington Masonic District in 1988. He was presently the treasurer. Ken was a member of the Argyle Volunteer Fire Co. since 1945 and served as chief from 1962 to 1987. He was the Washington County Deputy Fire Coordinator from 1983 to present. He served on Committee with the Washington County Extension Service, was a member of the Board of Directors of the Prospect Hill Cemetery Association and a member of the Argyle American Legion post 1518. He enjoyed spending time with his family and with his friends for coffee. In addition to his parents, Ken was also predeceased by his first wife, Betty (Fisher) Bristol who died in 1989; his three brothers, Donald, Leslie, and Ralph; and three sisters, Ruth Stott, Doris Sweet, and Kathryn Bristol; and his son-in-law, George C. Davis, also all predeceased him. Brophy, Evelyn "Tuckey" Saratoga Springs -- Evelyn "Tuckey" Brophy, of Saratoga Springs, died Monday evening, Jan. 31, 2005, at the Fort Hudson Nursing Home, Fort Edward. She was 82. Born on Nov. 29, 1922, in Victory Mills, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Emma (LaPierre) Garnsey and raised in the Schuylerville area. A graduate of Schuylerville High School, Class of 1941, she moved to Saratoga Springs where she resided for most of her life. Cardinal, John J. TROY -- John J. Cardinal, 82, of Troy, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Gillick Cardinal. John had been employed with the Ford Motor Company in Green Island for 27 years before retiring in 1987. He was a member of, and the Financial Secretary/Treasurer of, the United Auto Workers Local 930. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater in the Battle of the Bulge and Normandy, Ardennes, Northern France and Rhineland. During his service, he received the European African Middle Eastern Medal. Survivors include his brother, Joseph Cardinal of Florida, Richard (Patricia Berrigan) Cardinal of Queensbury, and his lifetime sweetheart, the late Dorothy (Dottie) Jacobs. Brother of the late Mary (Mae) Marcoux, Robert J. and Thomas J. Cardinal. John had very special grandchildren, Jessie and Robert Jacobs, and Jason Jacobs and his wife, Terri; great-grandfather of, Paige, Hannah, and Brittany Jacobs. Corey, Harry WELLS, Vt. -- Harry Corey, 77, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington following a short illness. Born July 14, 1927, in Danby, Vt., he was the son of Edgar and Alice (Hart) Corey. Mr. Corey served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a retired farmer. His wife, Mary E. Corey, died before him. Survivors include four sons, Harry C. Corey of South Carolina, Dana H. Corey of Manchester Center, James M. Corey of Hudson Falls, and S.F.C. Dale R. Corey of Fort Steward, Georgia; three daughters, Cindy L. Davis, Harriet Engle Warrensburg -- Harriet Engle Davis, 65, a resident of St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in St. Johnsville, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at the Little Falls Hospital following a brief illness. Born Feb. 11, 1939, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Edna (Wyss) Davis of Warrensburg. Besides her parents, her twin sister, Helen Ross Davis and her nephew, Craig E. Short, have both predeceased her. Survivors include her two sisters, Margaret E. Sigler of Philadelphia, Pa., and Catherine L. Godwin, Anne BALLSTON SPA -- Anne Godwin, 91, died suddenly Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa. Born on Feb. 24, 1913, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Godwin. Miss Godwin was a resident of the Wilton Developmental Center in Wilton for many years. She then resided at the LaMora Family Care Home in Corinth for a few years. Since 1998, she resided at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Madeline (Godwin) Wallace. Miss Godwin is survived by her friends and caregivers at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa. Published in the Post-Star on 2/2/2005. Kirker Sr., Robert D. GANSEVOORT -- Robert D. Kirker Sr., 69, of Gansevoort, passed away suddenly on Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at the Saratoga Hospital. Born on Dec. 6, 1935, in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of the late David and Helen Joan (Fedock) Kirker. Bob was a 1954 graduate of St. Peter's High School in Saratoga Springs and a 1959 graduate of Notre Dame University in South Bend, Ind., where he earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering. On July 26, 1975, he married the former Linda Beckwith at St. Peter's Church in Saratoga Springs. Bob worked as a civil engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation for 37 years in the Region 1 Office in Albany. He also operated a private civil engineering and surveying practice for a number of years. Bob was a communicant of St. Clement's Church in Saratoga Springs. Other affiliations included the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping, the American Birding Association, Board of Directors of the Hawk Migration Association of North America, and Chairman of the Quality Committee of the Saratoga County Soil and Conservation District. Bob was the first graduate of Syracuse University who was certified in the Watershed Management Program. Bob was an avid bird watcher who traveled extensively to become a life lister of over 750 birds. He was founder of the Hudson Mohawk Hawk Watch. His other hobbies included coin collecting, reading and umpiring semi-professional baseball. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his three brothers and his two sisters. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Linda J. Kirker of Gansevoort; his son, Robert David Kirker Jr. of Gansevoort; his sister-in-law, Mary Jill Trombley of Ticonderoga and her children, Rebecca, Andrew, Luke and Adam; his grandnephew, Daniel; his grandniece, Kiley; and several other nieces and nephews. Lyons, Elizabeth D. South Glens Falls -- Elizabeth D. Lyons, 71, of Hudson Drive, went home to the arms of the Lord on Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at the Glens Falls Hospital after a long illness. Born in Westfield, N.J., on May 15, 1933, she was the daughter of Reginald and Marjorie (Conner) Turner. Elizabeth graduated from Cranford High School in Cranford, N.J. in 1951. Elizabeth married John F. Lyons on Sept. 19, 1953, at St. Michael's Church in Cranford, N.J. She was a member of the South Glens Falls United Methodist Church. Elizabeth was a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and squirrels. Elizabeth was especially fond of spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends, knitting, gardening and playing with her dog "Babe" and her parakeet Charlie. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Mary May. "Betty" Lake Luzerne -- Mary E. "Betty" Millham, age 63, of Main Street, died unexpectedly, Monday morning, Jan. 31, 2005, at her home. Born on Sept. 28, 1941, she was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Martin) Muller. She was a graduate of Freeport High School on Long Island and attended New Paltz College. Betty married George H. Millham on May 7, 1966, at the New Paltz Methodist Church. She had served on the New Paltz Rescue Squad for several years and had also served as the New Paltz Police Commissioner. Betty was employed at SUNY New Paltz and New Paltz High School for many years before her retirement in 1994. In 1995, after many years of vacationing in the Lake George and Lake Luzerne area, Betty and George purchased their home on Main Street in Lake Luzerne. Following an extensive remodeling project, Betty lovingly decorated it with the many antiques she had collected. She enjoyed painting, antiques and going to yard sales. Betty was predeceased by her parents and one brother, Charles Muller. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, George H. Millham; two daughters, Deborah Panek of New Paltz, Nancy Galvin and her husband, Daniel of Medford, Mass.; three sons, Joseph Millham and his wife, Carol, of Pine Bush, Thomas Millham of Milton, Patrick Millham and his wife, Heidi, of Huntington, Md.; one brother, Allan Muller and his wife, Ellen, of Wading River; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Rose Jr., formerly of North River, N.Y., died on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, surrounded by his loving family. Born on Nov. 1, 1924, in New York City, he was the son of the late Henry and Florence Rose of Fort Pierce, Fla. He was a Gunners Mate and served aboard the USS Harold C. Thomas DE-21 in the South Pacific during World War II. He was honorably discharged on Jan. 8, 1946. Henry married Jean L. Gaffney, the love of his life, on Feb. 3, 1946. He was an entrepreneur and enjoyed being self-employed before his retirement from his businesses in Florida and New York in 1985. Henry was a past member of the North Creek Rotary and was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a member of the North Creek Chamber of Commerce and American Legion. He and Jean spent time traveling before settling in Wachapreague, Va. Henry was a devout Catholic and active member of St. Peter's Church in Onley, Va. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Florence Rose of Fort Pierce Fla. Henry is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jean; his sister, Janet Bals and her husband, Joseph of Fort Pierce Fla.; his brother, Robert Rose of Fort Pierce, Fla.; his daughter, Pamela Wolfe and her husband, William, of Lake Luzerne; his daughter, Jeanne Deitz of Tallahassee, Fla; his daughter, Karen Hewke and her husband, James, of Jackman, Maine; his son, Henry Rose of North River; his grandchildren, Traci Kingsley and her husband, Matthew; Kara Pataki and her husband, Michael, Michael Wolfe and his wife, Amy; Michelle Oliver and her husband, Clay; Christopher Hewke; Jacob Hewke; Matthew Deitz; five great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Patricia Gaffney; and many nieces and nephews. Logo Published in the Post-Star on 2/2/2005. Tedesco, John Town of Moreau -- John Tedesco, 74, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. John moved to the Town of Moreau from Valley Stream, Long Island, and has lived here for 44 years. John joined the Marine Corps as a teen and obtained the rank of Sergeant of A Company, 7th Marines, in the First Marine Division in the United States Marine Corps. He was proud of his service during the Korean War. Later, he was employed as a Senior Investigator with the New York State Department of Health for 28 years. He then served three terms as the Saratoga County Coroner. John was very active in his community and public service. He was a former member of the New York State Republican Committee representing Saratoga County for 12 years. He was also a longtime member and Chairman of the Town of Moreau Republican Committee. John was dedicated to serving the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Glens Falls Lodge No. 81. He held the positions of Exalted Ruler, Past Exalted Ruler, Past District Deputy and Past Elk of the Year. Additionally, he chaired numerous NYSEA committees. He was a Life Member of the Marine Corps League-Memorial Detachment and Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Queensbury Post No. 6196 and American Legion Mohican Post No. 553. John is also a Life Member of the Valley Stream Volunteer Fire Department. John and his wife, Joan, joined the First Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls in 1962. He loved golfing, swimming and enjoyed watching all sports. He was predeceased by his mother, Grace, and son, John F. Tedesco. He is survived by his father, Frank of Sarasota, Fla.; his wife of 52 years, Joan; daughter, Jean of the Town of Moreau; son James, daughter-in-law, Laura; and grandchildren, Jonathan and Jessica of Halfmoon. A private service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Barclay, pastor, officiating at a time convenient for the family. Burial will take place at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in the spring.
