(Fessler) BAYPORT, Long Island -- Mary H. (Fessler) Conroy, 83, of Bayport, Long Island, passed away Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005. Born June 8, 1921, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Fessler and Mary (Minturn) Fessler. She was a retired teacher from Brentwood Schools on Long Island. Mrs. Conroy was active in Sayville Village Improvement Society and was a Sunday School teacher at Sayville Congregational Church. She was married to Frank L. Conroy, who passed away in 1984. She was the loving mother of Patricia E. Conroy of Bayport, Long Island; and dear sister of Meredith Fessler of Courtlandt Manor. Friends may call from 2 to 4:30 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. today, Feb. 4, at Bayport-Blue Point Funeral Home, 683 Montauk Highway, Bayport. A religious service will be conducted at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Dawley, 91, a former Greenwich resident, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Facility in Argyle, where she had been a resident for the past seven years. Born Oct. 15, 1913, in Greenwich, she was the daughter of George and Elizabeth Ferguson Dawley. Bertha was a retired employee of the Reilly Shirt Factory in Greenwich and a member of the Bottskill Baptist Church in Greenwich. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Dawley and two sisters, Mildred McNeil and Beth Bell. Survivors include a brother, George Dawley of Greenwich; two sisters, Fannie Dawley of Fort Edward and Phyllis Dawley of Greenwich; four nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted in the spring at the Greenwich Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich. Published in the Post-Star on 2/4/2005. DeRossi, Alphonse P. "Sans" SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Alphonse P. "Sans" DeRossi, 84, of Wright Street died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at his home. A lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs, he was born on Sept. 2, 1920, the son of Alphonse P. and Isabelle (Mancini) DeRossi Sr. He was a 1939 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, and then worked at Gideon Hotel in Saratoga and at Hampshire House in New York City. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific. He was a graduate of Paul Smith's College with a degree in food service management. For many years, he served as the school lunch director for Saratoga Springs, Ballston Spa and Stillwater School Districts. He also helped to manage DeRossi's, the family restaurant and a popular eatery in Saratoga Springs for more than 72 years. He was a lifelong thoroughbred racing fan and was in regular attendance at the track for the past 70 years. While at the track, he made many friends in the racing community. Mr. DeRossi was a communicant of St. Clement's Church in Saratoga Springs and was a life member of the Dominick-Smaldone Italian American War Veteran's Post No. 35 in Saratoga Springs. Five brothers and four sisters died before him. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (Howe) DeRossi of Saratoga Springs; a son, Frank S. DeRossi and his wife, Susan, of Saratoga Springs; two grandchildren, Lisa DeRossi and Jeffrey DeRossi, both of Saratoga Springs; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs. Burial will be at the family plot at Greenridge Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Feb. 4, at Simone Funeral Home, Inc., 105 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs. Goss, USMC, Retired, 79, of Main Street, died at his home on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, surrounded by his loving wife and family. A full obituary will appear in Saturday's edition of The Post-Star. Hamblin, Cynthia Marion HUDSON FALLS -- Cynthia Marion Hamblin, 52, of West Street, went into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on Jan. 20, 1953, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Howard Ormsby of Glen Lake and the late Gertrude Ormsby. Cynthia enjoyed going for rides and was active at the East Side Center in Glens Falls. She loved all of her children and they were her pride and joy, especially Amber, who was with her throughout the years. Besides her mother, her oldest daughter, Katherine, passed away before her. Survivors include her son, Robert Hamblin of Gansevoort; her daughters: Tina Bridge and her husband, Jason, of Queensbury, April Capman, Angela Capman and Amber Capman, of Warrensburg; two grandchildren, Daniel Hamblin and Parker Julia Bridge; her stepmother, Betty Ormsby of Glen Lake; and many special, loving friends. Friends may call on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls. A graveside service will be in the spring at Pine View Cemetery in the town of Queensbury. QUEENSBURY -- Marion L. Kingsley, 78, a devoted wife and mother, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, surrounded by her family. Born on Aug. 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Isabelle Dunphy. She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth H. Kingsley of Queensbury; three sons: Kenneth C. Kingsley and his wife, Billie, of Phoenix, Ariz., Thomas Kingsley and his wife, Rachel, of Glens Falls, and Mark Kingsley and his wife, Terri, of Hartford; two daughters, Mary Dunkin and her husband, Alan, of Ballston Spa and Margaret Kingsley and her companion, Dennis Kidder, of Queensbury; one brother, George Dunphy of Queensbury; two sisters, Florence Olden of Warrensburg and Shirley Sanders of South Glens Falls; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, at Jillson Funeral Home, Inc., 46 Williams St., Whitehall, with the Rev. Ashley Meade, pastor of the Clemons Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Greenmount Cemetery in Whitehall. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the outstanding staff at Westmount Health Facility who made the last six years of Marion's life more enjoyable and comfortable. The genuine love and devotion of the staff was astounding and greatly appreciated by the family. They also wish to thank High Peaks Hospice for their caring support during her final days. Published in the Post-Star on 2/4/2005. Tucker, George LAKE GEORGE -- George Tucker, age 54, of Harris Avenue, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 2, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital. Born on Oct. 18, 1950, in Corinth, he was the son of Judy (Treanor) Tucker Dingman and the late Myron Tucker. He attended Hadley Luzerne Central School. George served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with one campaign star, Good Conduct Medal and a sharpshooter commendation. He was a member of the William J. Varney American Legion Post No. 862 Lake Luzerne. George enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR races. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, Ronald Tucker and one sister, Nancy Beach. Survivors include his mother, Judy Dingman and her husband, Loren, of Lake Luzerne; one son, George Day Tucker of South Carolina; five siblings: Linda Springer of Tampa, Fla,. Myron Tucker Jr. and his wife, Paula, of Broadalbin, Susan Hoelscher and her husband, John, of Wharton, Texas, Joann Tucker of Glens Falls, and Geraldine Kelley of Pelzer, S.C.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Monday at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne. Burial with full military honors will be at Gerald B.H.
