Bert was born in Moira, N.Y., on May 28, 1915. She was the daughter of the late Fred "Mac" and Mabel (Trumbul) McDonald. Bert married Erwin "Ike" Fletcher on Oct. 20, 1940, in Glens Falls. Bert enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening and painting. Bert was very family-oriented and was always available to family and friends. While raising her daughters, she was very involved in school and community activities. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a 20-year member of the Glens Falls Hospital Guild. Besides her parents and husband, Bert was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Grant; a brother, Merl McDonald; and a son-in-law, Donald Dean. Bert is survived by two daughters, Faye Newbury and her husband, Paget, of Corinth, and Janet Dean of Plattsburgh; five grandchildren, Gwen (Newbury) Garcia, Brent Newbury, Elizabeth (Dean) Madan, Ellen (Dean) Gricoski and Sara Dean; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Vera Ellis; brothers, Earl McDonald and Donald McDonald; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at Radloff Funeral Home Inc., 136 Warren St., Glens Falls with the Rev. James Mackey officiating. Family and friends may call at 10 a.m. prior to the time of the service. Interment will take place at Glens Falls Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bert's name to the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Resident Activities, P.O. Box 500, North Creek, NY 12853. "Dick" Fletcher, age 80, of Cedar River Road, died Saturday morning, Feb. 12, 2005, at Bert Fish Medical Center, New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Born on Feb. 10, 1925, in Johnson City, he was the son of Alvinza and Florence (Coddington) Fletcher. He married Ethel Wakely O'Brien on Dec. 10, 1955, in Indian Lake. Together, they owned and operated Wakely Lodge in Indian Lake, opening the lodge in 1958, and the golf course in 1970. Dick enjoyed playing golf, fishing, shrimping and being with his family. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Ethel W. Fletcher; one sister, Pearl Tinklepaugh of Binghamton; one son, Thomas O'Brien and his wife, Phyllis, of Pittsburgh; one grandson, Thomas O'Brien Jr.; Cora Forslund, who was like a daughter, and her family; three special nieces, Sylvia Berghela and family, Peggy Rising and family, and Ruby Pigliavento and family. Heffern, Elizabeth McGlynn "Betty" GREEN ISLAND -- Elizabeth "Betty" McGlynn Heffern, 95, of Green Island, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, surrounded by her family, at Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Argyle. She was the wife of the late Edward A. Heffern. Born in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late John and Mabel Bulson McGlynn. She had resided in Green Island since 1935. Betty was a graduate of Catholic Central High School. She had been employed as the office manager at Peter A. Heffern & Sons Insurance for over 30 years, retiring in 1987. Betty was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Green Island, a member of its Altar-Rosary Society and a member of the Columbiettes. She was an avid bowler and was a member of several area leagues. Betty was the beloved mother of Edward (Judy) Heffern of Argyle, Thomas "TJ" (Peggy) Heffern of Watervliet, William "Skinny" (Marie) Heffern of Green Island, and Jack (Pat) Heffern of Troy; sister of the late Mabel Rixon and Marion James. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday at McNulty Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Ave., Green Island, and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Green Island. Kozloski, Anna Ellen SCHENECTADY -- Anna Ellen Kozloski, 77, beloved wife of Thomas L. Kozloski of Schenectady, passed away Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, surrounded by her loving family, following heart bypass surgery. Peggy, as she was known, was born on Nov. 29, 1927, the daughter of Maggie and George Tuckett of Shamokin, Pa. She married Thomas Kozloski, with whom she had five children. Peggy was employed for many years with the State of New York in Albany, retiring as a payroll supervisor. She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Nancy Hunter, and Louise Adamson; and a brother, George Tuckett. Besides her husband, Tom, Peggy is survived by a brother, Richard Tuckett and his wife, Connie, of Shamokin, Pa. Peggy's five children and their families include: her daughter, Susan Knightes and her husband, David, of St. Albans, Vt., grandsons, Christopher of Athens, Ga., and David Jr. and his wife, Renee, great-grandsons, David III and Zachary, all of Rockaway, N.J.; daughter, Karen Kahtz and her husband, Brad, of Savannah, Ga., granddaughters, Laura Chesterfield and her husband, David, of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Kerri Barrett and her husband, Justin, of Murfreshboro, Tenn., and a great-granddaughter, Kayla; a daughter, Diane Kruzikas and her husband, Richard, of Eagle Bridge, granddaughter, Aleeza Oppelt of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a son, Thomas Kozloski Jr. and his wife, Jeanne, of Gansevoort, grandchildren, Ben, Tucker and Janna; and a son, Richard Kozloski and his wife, Mary, of West Boylston, Mass., grandchildren, Leslie and Stash of Worcester, Mass. There will be no calling hours. Services will be private. Repo, James Harley WEST PAWLET, Vt. -- James Harley Repo, 80, of West Pawlet, Vt., passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on Dec. 19, 1924, in West Pawlet, Vt., he was the son of the late Antonio and Lillian (Duel) Repo. He was educated in the West Pawlet and Granville school systems. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II, in the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged at the end of the war. For many years, James worked at Ciba Geigy (Hercules). His hobbies included doing crossword puzzles, his greenhouse and gardening, making bread and pizza, visiting the Amish and chatting with friends, neighbors and relatives. Survivors include his three children: Syndonna Anoe and her husband, James, of Granville, Mary Repo-Martinez and her husband, Jesus, of El Paso, Texas, and Anthony Repo of Hudson Falls; one grandson, Jason Martinez of El Paso, Texas; and James' companion, Jane Cleaveland of West Pawlet, Vt.; and several cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Frances Cabrini Church in West Pawlet, with the Rev. Thomas Zelker presiding. Spring burial will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Middle Granville. Zinni, Mariam Frances CAMBRIDGE u Mariam Frances Zinni, 71, of Fish Hatchery Road, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, after a long illness.
