QUEENSBURY -- Joan W. Carson, 77, of Meadow Lane, passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 24, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, with funeral services following at 8 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. Ferguson, Helen QUEENSBURY -- Helen Ferguson, 104, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at Glens Fall Hospital. Born on Dec. 30, 1900, in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Ada B. (Kirkpatrick) Sherman. Mrs. Ferguson was a housewife. She was married 65 years to the late Norman C. Ferguson. She lived in Troy, Brooklyn and Tarrytown, before moving to Glens Falls in 1943. Mrs. Ferguson was active in the Women's Civic Club for 40 years, a member of the Home Bureau for 20 years and a 22-year member of the Queensbury Branch of the Women's National Farm and Garden Association. She attended Troy Art School; taught beading, and also worked in the office of Cluett-Peabody of Troy. Survivors include one son, William A. Ferguson of Queensbury. Funeral service and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours scheduled. Fitzgerald, 56, of Wind Song Drive, passed away Monday evening, Feb. 21, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness. A full obituary will appear in Sunday's edition of The Post-Star. Hallinan, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital after a short illness. The daughter of Alexander and Alida Macfarlane, Jane was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School in Schenectady and Mildred Elley Secretarial School in Albany. She found great peace, comfort and joy in God, and her favorite scripture verse was Colossians 1:27, To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. She is survived by a daughter, Marie of Queensbury; a son, John, of San Diego, Calif. and her three dogs, Daisy, Katie and Joshua. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in the spring at Park View Cemetery in Schenectady at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Singleton-Healy Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury. Published in the Post-Star from 2/25/2005 - 2/26/2005. Hill Sr., Royce J. CHESTERTOWN -- Royce J. Hill Sr., 94, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at Stanton Health Care Center in Queensbury. Born Aug. 12, 1910, in Chestertown, he was the son of the late Grant and Pansy (Morehouse) Hill. Mr. Hill retired after 40 years as a general foreman for Warren County Department of Public Works. He was charter member of the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Department. since October 1933, a member of the former Glendale Masonic Lodge of Pottersville, and currently a member of the Warrensburgh Lodge No. 425 Free and Accepted Masons. He also was a member of the Green Mansions Golf Course Thursday Night Men's golf league. Royce enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Dorothea Bolton Hill, who passed away in 1993. He was also predeceased by one daughter, Joan Gibb. Survivors include one son, Royce J. Hill Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, of Chestertown; one sister, Ruth Smith of Warrensburg; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Kraisky, Jean MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. and BRANT LAKE -- Jean Kraisky passed into God's light on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005. She was 83 years old. Born March 27, 1921, in the Bronx, she was the daughter of Luca and Antoinette Nitti Cavalluzzi. She was a Yonkers resident for over 35 years. Jean retired to Myrtle Beach, S.C., then she divided her time between her two daughters, Stella of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Toni of Brant Lake. She was known to all as Mom-Mom. Mrs. Kraisky was a volunteer for Rainbows End and a member of the Senior Center in Myrtle Beach, where she was an avid bingo and card player. Jean was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church in Chestertown. Her family said she was loved by all that knew her, adored flowers and was a great help in the garden. She was the beloved mother of Stella (Rene) Fonseca of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Toni (Tony) Orientale of Brant Lake, Bart (Leslie) Kraisky of Brewster N.Y., and Walter (Brinda) Kraisky of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; dear sister, of Ann Pezzola, Nicholas Cavalluzzi, and the late Nat, Tommy, Frank, Joe and Ralph Cavalluzzi; adored grandmother of Sandra Muraca, Danielle DeGregory, Anthony Orientale, Matthew, Gregory, Walter III, Dawn Kraisky and the late Victoria Fonseca. Leary Sr., Robert "Bob" GLENS FALLS -- Robert "Bob" Leary, Sr., 63, of Montcalm Street passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on Aug. 8, 1941, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late William John and Viola (St. John) Leary. He attended Glens Falls High School. On Oct. 14, 1961, he married Phyllis Yarter at the former St. Paul's Church in Hudson Falls. For over 30 years, Bob worked as a construction worker and cement finisher all over the country. He was owner and coach of the Glens Falls Boxing Club. Bob was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed cooking, taking cake decorating classes and making wonderful chocolate candy. Bob was the Food Channel's number one fan. His 1-year old granddaughter was his princess. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Anita Doran. Survivors include his loving wife, of 43 years, Phyllis Leary of Glens Falls; five children: David Leary and his companion, Juanita, of Queensbury, William Leary and his wife, Kim, of Glens Falls, Patti Walkup and her husband, Kevin, of Glens Falls, Robert Leary Jr. and his companion, Rhonda, of Glens Falls and Lynn Leary of Glens Falls; 11 grandchildren: Tommy "Bear" Leary, Jessica Leary, Eric Walkup, Nicky Walkup, Shauna Leary, Summer Beida, Josh Leary, Steven Leary, Shawn Leary, Ashlee Leary, and Kara Leary; one sister, June Zaiko of South Glens Falls; three brothers: Temer Lazure and Clarence Lazure, both of Naples Fa. and Roland Rivers and his wife, Linda, of Baird, Texas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Published in the Post-Star on 2/26/2005. McHenry, Francis FORT EDWARD -- Francis McHenry, 81, of Chestnut Street, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at his home after a short illness. Born on Feb. 7, 1924, in Middle Granville, he was the son of Martin and Ada (Watrous) McHenry. Mr. McHenry attended Granville High School and worked for Scott Paper Co. until he retired. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. McHenry was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Fort Edward, enjoyed all sports, local sports, golfing with his brothers at the Wedgewood Golf Course, and was an avid Yankee baseball fan. Francis married Rita Katherine (Fisher) McHenry in June of 1946, at St. Joseph's Church in Fort Edward. She passed away April 13, 1993. Besides his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Katherine McHenry, his son, Daniel McHenry; his four sisters, Madeline Bullivant, Margaret Williams, Evelyn Bruce, and Florence Bennett; and his four brothers, Daniel, David, Kevin, and Martin McHenry. Survivors include his two sons, James McHenry of Richmond, Va. and John McHenry of Fort Edward; his six sisters: Katherine Clark of Fort Edward, Mrs. Peter (Betty) Fisher of Fort Edward, Mrs. Edward (Genevieve) Jasper of Albany, Helen Culligan of Fort Edward, Miss Anne McHenry of Albany, and Mrs. Dexter (Nancy) Hathaway of Copake; one brother, Jack McHenry of Granville; three sisters-in-las: Bonnie McHenry of Granville, Margaret Byrnes of Fort Edward, and Helene Montgomery of Fort Edward; two brothers-in-law, Peter Fisher and Joseph Fisher, both of Fort Edward, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. McKeeman, 82, of Baybridge Drive, passed away early Thursday morning, Feb. 24, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital following a short illness. Born June 2, 1922, in St. Lambert, Quebec, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Sara A. (Saur) McKeeman. Being raised in the Baldwin, Long Island area, he attended and graduated from Oceanside High School of Long Island, Class of 1940. Following his high school education, Frank was employed by Guaranty Trust Co. of New York City, performing bookkeeping and general clerical duties until February of 1943. He then enlisted for active duty in the United States Army Air Corp, serving as a radio operator and mechanic, and later, as a gunnery repairman with the 20th Bomber Squadron. His decorations include the World War II Victory Medal, American Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in December of 1945. On April 22, 1949, he married Alice Blinne in New York City. Frank was employed with AMF Incorporated of Westbury, Long Island as a regional credit manager, serving their company for over 25 years of dedicated service until his retirement, which brought him and his family to the Queensbury area. Besides his parents, a sister, Isobel Hansman, predeceased Frank. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Alice McKeeman, of Queensbury; one daughter, Lynn McKeeman of Glens Falls; two grandchildren, Kerri and Kevin Shpunt, of Queensbury; one brother, Keith McKeeman and his wife, Evelyn, of Tucson, Ariz.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call upon the family Sunday, Feb. 27, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. Funeral services will immediately follow the calling hours at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial, with full military honors, will be private and at the convenience of the family at Gerald B.
