INDIAN LAKE -- Gladys G. Austin, age 82, of Crow Hill Road, died Saturday evening, Feb. 26, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on Nov. 26, 1922, in Indian Lake, she was the daughter of Walter and Emma (LeClair) Morehouse. She was a graduate of Indian Lake Central School. Gladys was employed at Chimney Mountain Craftsman in Indian Lake, and at the Fireside Inn, Indian River Hotel, Ma Jones, Wilderness Lodge, and several other area restaurants. Gladys enjoyed her vegetable garden and growing her favorite flowers, gladiolas. She also enjoyed knitting and cooking. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Austin, who died on Sept. 11, 1990; and two sisters, Elizabeth Gratton and Dora Aldous. Survivors include two daughters, Diane Guermonprez of Columbia Cross Road, Pa., and Betty Locke of Indian Lake; one son, Joseph Austin and his wife, Janet, of Indian Lake; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two stepsisters, Cora Jane Locke and Barbara Baker, both of Indian Lake; and several nieces and nephews A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Church, Indian Lake, with the Rev. Sony Pulickal, pastor, officiating. Spring burial will be at Cedar River Cemetery, Indian Lake. Jason had recently relocated to Queensbury. Born on May 26, 1972, in Glens Falls, he was the son of John A. and June (Bushman) Goodspeed Sr. Jason was a graduate of Granville High School and a vocational program to become a certified welder. He was employed by Kubricky Construction. He loved his children very much. Jason also enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, Jason is survived by his wife, Rachel (Daigle) Goodspeed and their two daughters, Rachel Jean Grace Goodspeed and Cassandra Marcina Goodspeed, all of North Granville; five brothers: John Goodspeed Jr. and his wife, Gail, of Gansevoort, Kevin Goodspeed and his wife, Beth, of Hartford, Darwin Goodspeed of Dallas, Texas, Thomas Goodspeed and his wife, Bonnie, of North Granville and Stacey Goodspeed and his wife, Kelly, of Middle Granville; a sister, Sheryl Norton and her husband, Rusty, of Hartford; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Meager, 91, longtime Round Lake resident, died peacefully, Saturday Feb. 26, 2005, at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa. She was born in Syracuse on June 2, 1913, daughter of the late Lewis & Nettie (Cary) Williams Sr. Kathryn was the beloved wife of the late Robert C. Meager Sr., who died on Feb. 23, 1999. She was blessed to have spent 66 wonderful years with her husband. She, along with her husband, co-founded the Round Lake Insurance Agency. Kathryn was educated in the Syracuse School Systems and was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ballston Spa. She was the mother of Ruth M. Meager of Round Lake, Kathy M. (Roman) Krecklow of Rye, N.H., Lynn M. Thompson of Tucson, Ariz, David (Alice) Meager, of Round Lake, Jonathan (Nancy) Meager Sr. of Round Lake and Robert C. (Bonnie) Meager Jr. of Round Lake. She was the sister of Benjamin Williams of Milwaukee, Wis.; and the late Lewis Williams Jr., Mary Jane Williams and Lois Weber; grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse. ARGYLE -- Mary A. Michel, 90, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at Pleasant Valley Infirmary in Argyle, where she had resided since October of 2001. She was born July 24, 1914, in Newark, N.J., the daughter of Clemens and Anna (Tos) Adamcyk. Mary lived in Cedar Grove, N.J., for many years before moving to Salem to live with her son Frederick. She was a communicant of the Holy Cross Church in Salem. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Frederick H. Michel; one son, Jeffrey A. Michel; her sisters, Helen Senkoski, Adele Adamcyk and Clementine Adamcyk. Survivors include two sons, Frederick A. Michel and his wife, Christine, of Salem, and Lawrence R. Michel and his wife, Lorraine, of Haworth, N.J.; seven grandchildren: Lisa Steele, Jennifer Lawrence, Sara Campbell, Keith Michel, Lauren Michel, Drew Michel and Alissa Michel; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry Adamcyk of Manhasset; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, N.J. Munger, 57, of Comstock Road, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital following a long illness. Born on March 31, 1947, in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of the late Harry and Mildred (Whitaker) Munger. Mr. Munger attended Saratoga High School. He married Bonny J. Madison on April 26, 1971, in National City, Calif. The couple then resided in many locations during his military career, most recently living in Corinth. Mr. Munger was a 28-year career Marine, joining the United States Marine Corps in 1965. He first served for six years in several locations in the United States and served in Vietnam from 1968 through 1970, eventually obtaining the rank of sergeant. In Vietnam, he fought in several engagements and received many awards for valor in the field, including the Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Meritorius Unit Citation (Gallantry Cross Medal Color with Palm.) Following his second tour of duty in Vietnam, Mr. Munger then served in Spain, and in San Diego as a drill instructor. He then served in several other locations including Camp LeJuene, N.C., Okinawa, Norfolk, Va., Tampa, Fla., Cherry Point, N.C., and Hawaii until his retirement as a Master Gunnery Sergeant in 1993. Mr. Munger received many other awards, ribbons, and medals, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Rifle Marks- manship Badge, the Good Conduct Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the National Defense Service Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon. Following his retirement from the Marine Corps, he worked as the VFW service officer in Albany for several years, and then worked as the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialist under the New York State Department of Labor. He served as commander of the Gurtler Brothers VFW Post 420 of Saratoga Springs, and served as finance officer of the Horace D. Washburn American Legion Post 533 of Corinth for several years. Mr. Munger was a member of the Marine Corps League, and served as secretary of the Marine Corps Coordinating Council. He also was a member and past Master of the Mount Vernon Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons. He was a member of the Oddfellows Lodge and the Knights Templer in the Albany region. Mr. Munger enjoyed yardwork, hunting, fishing and being with his family. Survivors besides his wife of 33 years include one daughter, Michelle J. Frye and her husband, Henry, of Porter Corners; one son, Joshua R. Munger of Corinth; two grandchildren, McKenzie Munger of Tupper Lake, and Daniel Frye of Porter Corners; two sisters, Ann Hall of Saratoga Springs, and Charlotte Johnson and her husband, David, of Rick City Falls; one brother, Harold Munger of Pompano, Fla.; one uncle, Maurice Whitaker of San Jose, Calif.; and seveal nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth, with Lane Schermerhorn, chaplain of the Horace D. Washburn American Legion Post 533 of Corinth, officiating and Post Commander Harry Candee, assisting. Members of Post 533 of Corinth and the VFW Post 420 of Saratoga Springs will also assist with the service. Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, prior to the service. Burial, with full military honors, will be held at a later date at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville.
