SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Gerald H. Adamowicz, beloved by generations, family and friends, Jerry passed away on Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, N.Y. Jerry was born July 18, 1940, in the little town of Apex, N.Y., where he lived with his parents for the first four years of life. At age five, he moved with his parents to Oneonta, N.Y. Jerry attended St. Mary's School for six years and then went to Oneonta Junior High School and graduated from Oneonta High School. He also attended Manlius Military Academy. After High School, Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Upon his return to civilian life, he married Molly Foster. (They were married for five years.) Jerry was employed by Lyn Coach and Truck Company where he started as a draftsman and worked his way up to Production Manager. After leaving Lyn Coach, he worked for a short time for Oneonta bus lines and then went on to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a Greyhound bus driver. While at Greyhound, he became a Driver Instructor and an Operations Supervisor. During slow periods at Greyhound, Jerry drove tractor trailer for various companies. Jerry's career was cut short at the age of 38, when he had his first heart attack. His second marriage to Ellen Canary, lasted 21 years. To keep himself busy in his retirement, Jerry was the official Santa for Chatham, N.Y. for 12 years. He volunteered at the Mac-Hayden Theatre in Chatham, N.Y. for 7 years. He went to the car auctions with Butch Lippera of Lippera Pre-owned Autos, where Butch would let Jerry bid on the cars for him. Jerry also loved to travel in his motor home with Mary Ann, and when he was at home, he enjoyed reading and using his computer. Jerry sold his home in East Chatham, N.Y. and has been residing at Embury Apartments, a retirement community in Saratoga Springs for the last few years. Jerry leaves behind his significant other, Mary Ann Schweikert; a daughter, Beth Jorns from his first marriage; a son, Gerald K. Adamowicz and a daughter, Jennifer Miller from his second marriage; Jerry had four granddaughters, Chelsy and Courtney Adamowicz, and Jennifer and Brittany Jorns. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at St. Mary's Church, Oneonta with the Rev. Steven Moore, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Emmons, N.Y. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta. SOUTH GLENS FALLS -- Lorraine T. Anderson, 75, passed away Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital, after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Sept. 4, 1929, in Glens Falls, the daughter of the late Harold and Beatrice (Farr) Taylor. Lorraine was a graduate of Nicolet Assumption Residence in Canada. She was the loving wife of the late Earl Anderson whom she married at St. Alphonsus Church on Feb. 21, 1954. She was a communicant of St. Michael's the Archangel Church, in South Glens Falls. Lorraine was an avid gardener, landscaping her back yard into a pathway of different gardens and ponds, and became a recent member of the South Glens Falls Garden Club. Her love for Christmas showed in the decorating of her entire house, spending days on setting up her miniature village that grew larger every year. Most of all she adored and was adored by her loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased not only by her parents, her brother, Richard Taylor also predeceased her. Lorraine is survived by her, six loving children, Pamela Poole-Anderson of Queensbury, Patricia Benway, of Queensbury, Kathleen Sutphin and her husband, Leonard, of South Glens Falls, James Anderson and his wife, Christine, of South Glens Falls, Christine Munger and her husband, David, of Glens Falls and William Anderson also of Glens Falls; her brother, Harold "Bud" Taylor and his wife, Patricia, of Glens Falls; and sisters-in-law, Rose Taylor of California, and Phyllis Neshem of North Carolina; along with two aunts; her grand daughters, Corynne, LeslieAnn and Erica Poole, Brooke Flanders, Kelly Flynn, Shannon McNeill, Michelle Carroll, Jessica Dorey, Samantha Sutphin, Nichole and Jennifer Munger and Ashley and Taylor Anderson also survive her. Lorraine's grandsons, Benjamin Poole, Jeffrey Flynn, J.T. Moynihan, Christopher Dorey, James, Zachary, and Kurt Anderson, David and Michael Munger will act as pallbearers for their grandmother with grandsons, Jason and Jeremy Anderson acting as honorary pallbearers. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at St. Michael's the Archangel Church, Saratoga Avenue, South Glens Falls with Father Robert Nugent officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Fasano, Mary GLENS FALLS -- Mary Fasano, 73, formerly of South Street, passed away on Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital, after a long illness. Born on May 14, 1931, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary D'Angelo. In 1949, she married Albert Fasano. He passed away on Dec. 29, 1957. Mary was employed as a manager at J & J Lingerie in Glens Falls, retiring in 1993. Her enjoyments included spending time with her family, friends, and her dog, and playing bingo every week. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Anna Hupence. Survivors include her son, Al Fasano of Orlando, Fla.; her two grandsons, Scott Fasano of Atlanta, Ga. and AJ Fasano and his wife, Michelle, of Orlando, Fla.; her three great-granddaughters, Madisyn Fasano, Kaylee Fasano and Camryn Fasano, all of Orlando, Fla.; her sisters, Dorothy Comar, Barbara Wright, Joan Fragassi and her husband, Nicholas, Frances Prevost and her husband, Roger and Linda Lucci and her husband, Earl, all of Glens Falls; her brother, Philip D'Angelo and his wife, Anne Marie, of Delray Beach, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. (DeZalia) Foster, 81, died early Tuesday morning, Jan. 18, 2005, at Eden Park Nursing Home in Glens Falls after an extended illness. Helen was born Jan. 16, 1924, in Fort Edward, the daughter of George and Margaret Bugler DeZalia. Helen lived much of her early life in the Schroon Lake area; she has been residing in Queensbury for the past 35 years. She was employed as a housekeeper for many years in the Schroon Lake area, and she retired from Mallinkrodt Medical Industries in Argyle. Helen was a very caring and loving person. She was a wonderful mom and grandmother and will be missed by all. She is survived by her daughter, Judy and her husband, James Sidusky, of Queensbury; her son, Kenneth Foster Jr. and his wife, Thelma of Queensbury; three granddaughters, Kimberly Sidusky and her fiance, William Butler, and Tammy Drake and her husband, Tim and Diane Foster; one grandson, Scott Sidusky; two great-granddaughters, Samantha Butler and Tara Drake; two great-grandsons, Aaron Butler and Garrett Drake; and several cousins. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Schroon Lake. Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Crown Point in the spring. Published in the Post-Star on 1/19/2005. Hayden, David L. CAMBRIDGE -- David L. Hayden, 75, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at his home. David resided on Shields Road in Cambridge with his wife, Jane Shields Hayden. Born Sept. 30, 1929, in Palmer, Mass., he was the son of Francis and Thelma Moore Hayden. David attended schools in Munson and Pittsfield, Mass., living later in North Adams and Williamstown. In 1962, David moved his family to Bennington, Vt. He has resided at Hedges Lake since his retirement in 1985. David owned and operated J. H. Winslow Plumbing & Heating in Bennington for twenty-three years. He enjoyed golfing at Mount Anthony Country Club, hunting, and recently, his walks with his dog Zak. A very active member of the Bennington community, he was past president of the Bennington Lyons Club and a member of the Bennington Chamber of Commerce for many years. He also served in the National Guards for thirteen years. In earlier years, he was a member of the Second Congregational Church in Bennington and as of late, a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Shushan. He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Hayden. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jane Shields Hayden of Cambridge; three daughters, Lindalee Hayden of Benington, Corinnne Hayden of Wells, N.Y., and Kimberley Hayden of Cambridge; a son and his wife, David and Kathryn Hayden of Bennington; nine grandchildren, Ashley McHale, Regan, Tyler, and Joshua Galipeau, Allison and Ethan Vincze, Aletha and Bradley Hayden and William Thomas; four great-grandchildren, Jack, Colin, Theodore and Trinity. He is also survived by a brother, Francis "Bud" and his wife, Barbara Hayden, of North Adams; two sisters and their husbands, Carolyn and George Jarck of Anandale, N.J., and Betty Lou and Duke Duhamel of North Adams; a sister-in-law, Marlene Hayden of Adams, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Published in the Post-Star on 1/19/2005. Rademacher, Peter Henry PORT CLYDE, Maine -- Peter Henry Rademacher died suddenly on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at hishome in Port Clyde, Maine. The cause of death was gastro intestinal hemorrhaging. He was born Nov. 10, 1935, to Hans and Olga Rademacher of Swarthmore, Pa. Peter lead an active youth including sailboat racing, drag racing Impalas for Sunny Stein Chevrolet in Philadelphia, and playing semi-pro soccer. He was the stepson of Professor van de Kamp of Swarthmore College. Many weekends were enjoyed on his island in the lower Susquehanna River while obtaining his B.A. and M.A. degrees fromthe University of Pennsylvania. He later obtained credits towards a PhD at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J. Peter was Assistant to the Dean of Men at the University of Pennsylvania, Assistant Dean of Students at Stevens Institute of Technology, and Dean of the College at Leicester Junior College. Next hea raised beefalo and feed on "Radem Acres," his farm in Hebron, N.Y., while working for Agway and Jerome E. Wright insurance companies. His two marriages ended in divorce. He had dual (U.S. and German) citizenship and traveled extensively in Europe. Retirement found Peter sailing in Maine and the Chesapeake Bay while actively involved in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Coastal Water Management Board in Port Clyde. He is survived by a stepsister, Emma Marie vandeKamp Street of Cazenovia, N.Y.; by a half-sister, Karin Loewy of Philadelphia; by several nieces and nephews; and by his fiancee, Elisabeth Hamblin of Port Clyde, Maine. GANSEVOORT and NEWCOMB -- Josephine M. Valliere, age 89, of Gansevoort and Newcomb, died late Friday night, Jan. 14, 2005, at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Home, in Argyle, after an extended illness. Josephine was born on Nov. 8, 1915, in Newcomb, the daughter of David and Jane Tefoe Chassion. Josephine was predeceased by her sisters, Della Flagg and Adeline LaGase and her brother, David Chassion. Josephine spent most of her life in the Newcomb, Long Lake area, she had resided in Gansevoort since 1985. She was the manager of the Crest Hotel in Long Lake, she was the Green Thumb coordinator in Newcomb, and in years past she served as a practical nurse. She enjoyed her family, playing cards and cooking, when she had the time she enjoyed the out of doors, especially hunting or fishing. Survivors include her sons, Robert Valliere of Newcomb and Leo Valliere of Gansevoort; her sister, Elizabeth Whyman of Leomister, Mass.; her grandchildren, Lynn and Lisa Valliere, Darlene Jensen, Joanne Guljas and Betsy Maynard; her great-grandchildren, David and Tuesday Jensen, Cliff Valliere, Alicia and Jordan Guljas and Caitlin and Danielle Maynard; and her great-grandson, Zachery Hood. There will be no viewing hours. A graveside funeral service will be held at St. Theres's Catholic Cemetery, Newcomb in the spring. Zwijacz, Betty Lou SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Betty Lou Zwijacz of Phoenix, Ariz. and a summer resident of Bullard Lane, Saratoga Springs, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital following a long illness. She was 67. Born on Oct. 19, 1937, in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Kirlin and Martha Woodcock Sr. Betty attended Schuylerville schools. Since 1977, she has resided in Phoenix, Ariz. For over 25 years, she worked as a seamstress at Draperies by Muriel in Phoenix. She enjoyed woodworking, quilting, crocheting, gambling, family gatherings in the summer, and landscaping with her daughter Wendy. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Joy Woodcock and Rose Marie Neiger. She is survived by her companion of 27 years, Leon "Stub" Zwijacz of Phoenix, Ariz.; her three children, Rick Zwijacz of Phoenix, Ariz., Cheri Zwijacz of Chandler, Ariz., and Wendy Zwijacz of Gansevoort; four brothers, Roger Woodcock and his wife, Alma, of Gansevoort, Ralph Woodcock and his wife, Doris, of Saratoga Springs, Kirk Woodcock Jr. and his wife, Sandy, and Karl Woodcock all of Wilton; three sisters, Fanny Putnam and her husband, Jay, of Saratoga Springs, Sandy Dickinson of Gansevoort, and Lois Saetes and her husband, Manuel of Sacramento, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Thursday, Jan. 20, at Simone Funeral Home, Inc., 105 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs. Burial will follow at the South Wilton Cemetery located 3 miles north of Exit 15 on Route 50. A gathering will then follow at Betty's home at 20 Bullard Lane.
