Bob was born in the Bronx, N.Y., on Sept. 29, 1930. He lived with his parents at home until he was 24 years old, at which time he began residency in various institutional settings until he moved into a home in Greenwich, then one in Hudson Falls, and finally in Glens Falls. Bob was a very quiet, gentle person who found pleasure in reading the newspaper, watching birds frequent his home's bird feeder and viewing TV. He enjoyed being "out and about" in the community. He went out regularly for haircuts, to shop and attended community social events. He enjoyed going out for coffee and something to eat or maybe for an entire meal. Bob attended Park Club, a program for Seniors in Hudson Falls where he was an active participant in a host of activities. Bob was a tall and dignified-appearing gentleman. He will be remembered for his gentleness, his pleasant disposition and his basically cooperative nature. He was a regular attendee of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, in Glens Falls. Bob is survived by one cousin, Joseph Vesely, of Deerfield, Mass. A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m. at Bob's home, 74 Platt St. in Glens Falls, with the Rev. Thomas T. Parke, rector of Bethesda Episcopal Church in Saratoga Springs, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 136 Warren St., in Glens Falls. Published in the Post-Star on 1/23/2005. Cary, George L. Argyle -- George L. Cary, 84, of Argyle, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt. Born on Sept. 23, 1920, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late A. Haywood and Mary (Henderson) Cary. George graduated from Fort Edward High School and from SUNY Cobleskill in 1940. He was a truck driver for Agway for 22 years and was a member of the Argyle United Presbyterian Church where he had served as an elder for six years. He was the former Fire Chief for the Cossayuna Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Cossayuna Ten Point Fish & Game Club. George married Susanna (Bodkin) Cary on Oct. 1, 1944. Besides his parents, his three brothers, James, Fred and Anson Cary, and one sister, Lucille Dart also predeceased him. Survivors besides his wife of 60 years of Argyle include his daughter, Eileen C. Jackson and her husband, Gordon Jr., of Argyle; his son, Lawrence H. Cary and his wife, Lois L., of Glendale, Ariz.; his grandchildren; Joseph Jackson and his wife, Donna, Heide Javurek and her husband, Kenneth, Lisa Poulin and her husband, Jim, Laura Veeder and her husband, Michael and Lawrence J. Cary and his fiancee, Karisa Marshall; his great-grandchildren, Michael Cary Poulin, Logan Michael Veeder and Jackson Miles Javurek; his brothers, William Cary and his wife, Joyce, of Cobleskill, Richard Cary of Easton, and Carius Cary and his wife, Cessie of Prescott, Ariz.; his three sisters, A. Eloise White of Johnston, Mary Alice Spaulding of Hudson Falls, Marcia Bunzey and her husband, Richard, of Lake Placid, Fla.; his sisters-in-law, Helen Cary of Johnston, and Elsie Bodkin of Montana; his brother-in-law, Albert Dart of Altamont; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was born Sept. 23, 1962, in Florence, N.J., the son of James Chant of Gansevoort and Helen (Marinkos) Chant of Glens Falls. After running Airland's Part Plus of Glens Falls for 20 years, George started his own business, Motive Power & Paint LLC, in Glens Falls. George was passionate about his work and was proud to pass on his legacy of the business to his wife and son, in January 2005. He was a special man who had an impact on people's lives. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time camping, four wheeling, boating and going fishing, but his joy in his life was his children and the love he had for his wife. He also had a special place in his heart for his mother. He is survived not only by his parents, but his wife of 21 years, Karen (Seelye) Chant of Queensbury; a daughter, Kirsten Chant of Tampa Fla., a son, Jason Chant of Queensbury; along with his sisters, Nancy Hall of Hartford and Linda Chard of South Glens Falls; his brother, Jim Chant of Baggs, Wyo.; and several nieces and nephews also survive him. His Great Dane, Princess Sage Blue, and his other dog, Sammy, will be lost without him. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Pine View Cemetery, Quaker Road, Queensbury. "Lib" D'Attilio, 82, of Queensbury and formerly of Ticonderoga, passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at her residence. Born in Crown Point, she was the daughter of the late John and Gladys (Porter) Woods. Mrs. D'Attilio was a resident of Ticonderoga for most of her life. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and caring for her pet birds. Lib was a big N.Y. Mets fan, attending many games at Shea Stadium over the years. She especially loved her family and took great pride in her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank D'Attilio on Oct. 26, 1985. She was also predeceased by one daughter, Diane L. D'Attilio, and by one brother, Norman Woods. Survivors include two sons, Daniel D'Attilio of Port Henry and Darryl D'Attilio of Ticonderoga; one daughter, Lynne D'Attilio Eisenberg of Glens Falls; one brother, Leon Woods of Ticonderoga; and one sister, Lois Ledger of Ticonderoga. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Emery Jr., 83, of Queensbury passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, after a short illness at the Glens Falls Hospital with his loving family at his side. Born Aug. 12, 1921, in Whitehall, he was the son of the late James E. and Margaret (LaTour) Emery Sr. James was a graduate of Granville High School, Class of 1938. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran during World War II, serving with the 4th Marine Division. James owned and operated Emery Builders, Inc. in Glens Falls for more than 40 years. He enjoyed his many trips to Maine and adored his cats. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Bernard Emery and Rodman Emery. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Gertrude (Breason) Emery of Queensbury; his daughter, Susan Sellingham of Glens Falls; a brother, William Emery of Massachusetts; and his nephew, Russell Bernard Emery of Granville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Sullivan-Minahan & Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury. Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery, Queensbury. Athol -- Elaine R. Kenyon, 80, formally of Athol and most recently residing with her son, Douglas of Glens Falls, went into the arms of the Lord, Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born Nov. 12, 1924, in Clay Center, Neb., she was the daughter of the late John Wendell and Hattie (Samuelson) Peterson. Elaine met Philip L. Kenyon, her husband-to-be in Harvard, Neb. He was serving in the U.S. Army and she was a parachute packer on the Army Base. They married on March 3, 1945, and following the war returned to this area to raise their family in Athol. Elaine worked as a waitress at many restaurants in the area, including Brunetto's, the T & T, The Gourmet, the Montcalm, Chateau de Louis, the Red Coach, Colonial Arms and The Grist Mill. She was an accomplished pianist who taught piano and enjoyed playing in many area churches and other establishments. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and was very active in the Christ Community Church in Athol. Besides her husband, Philip, who passed away Nov. 19, 1986, after 41 years of marriage, she was predeceased by her brother, Raymond W. Peterson. Survivors include her eight children, Janis Merrithew and her husband, Edward, of Warrensburg, Raymond Kenyon and his wife, Ruth, of Athol, Douglas Kenyon and his wife, Janet, of Glens Falls, Richard Kenyon and his wife, Georgia, of Athol, John Kenyon of Athol, Pamala Siletti and her husband, Paul, of Athol, Jacqueline Wells and her husband, Kevin, of South Glens Falls, David Kenyon and his wife, Lorrie, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and her sister-in-law, Jeanette Peterson of Riverside, Calif.; Survivors also include her grandchildren: Ed and Sandy Pennock, Judy & Scott Tennant, Ed and Barbara Merrithew, Raymon Kenyon, Megan Kenyon, Brian Kenyon, Courtney & Josh McWhorter, Nicole & Al Conlon, Janet & Mike Kirby, Jason Kenyon, Joshua Kenyon, Jamie Tidd, Jennilee Siletti, Cori Tubbs, Donnie & Heather Black, Jennifer Fournier; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Born in Bacon Hill, N.Y., Nov. 24, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Myrtle Cook. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family. She also loved to play bingo. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ballston Spa. Mrs. Thompson was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Thompson; son, Philip Thompson; and granddaughter, Malinda Collins. Survivors include: three sons, Edwin Thompson Jr. of Poughkeepsie, George Thompson and his wife, Beverly, of Ballston Spa, and Kenneth Thompson of St. Louis, Mo.; daughter, Linda Collins and her husband, William, of Ballston Spa; sister, Mazie Washburn and her husband, Donald, of DelRay Beach, Fla.; brother, Raymond Cook and his wife, Barbara, of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Published in the Post-Star on 1/23/2005. Warner, Robert G. AMSTERDAM -- Robert G. Warner, 69, of Forbes Street, passed away suddenly Saturday morning at his home. Born in Oneonta on Feb. 7, 1935, he was the son of Harold Warner Sr. and Margaret Warner Harmon. He lived in the Glens Falls area for a number of years and was employed by the Scott Paper Company and later the GE Plant in Fort Edward until he retired. Mr. Warner moved to Amsterdam in 1997, to be near his daughter and her family. Robert loved the outdoors where he fished and enjoyed playing horseshoes. He was an avid bingo player and his happiest times were spent with family and friends. He was of the Protestant faith. Robert was married to the former Elsie Madeline Stoddard on June 13, 1952. She predeceased him on Jan. 10, 1997. His loving family includes his children, Thomas G. Warner of Florida, Daniel A. and his companion, Elaine Kamp of Pottsville, Pa., Michael W. Warner of Florida, and Brian and his wife, Vicki Warner, of Queensbury; daughters, Constance L. and her husband, Robert Morehouse of Amsterdam, Carol A. Alvarez, Candy S. Lopez and Paula J. Lopez all of Wintergarden, Fla.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Chase of New Hampshire; and many nieces and nephews. Zetterberg, Olof Richard LAGRANGEVILLE, N.Y. -- Olof Richard Zetterberg, 75, of LaGrangeville, N.Y. and formerly of Paradox Lake, passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at home after a 3 month battle with cancer. Born on May 18, 1929, in New York City, he was the son of Olof Karl Wilhelm and Ingeborg Lenboom. Mr. Zetterberg was employed for 38 years at IBM in Poughkeepsie, retiring in March of 1990 as personnel manager. He served in the National Guard for six years. Mr. Zetterberg married Jean Stettler on April 19, 1952, in Woodhaven, N.Y. He was a member of the Alliance Church in Poughkeepsie and the Mountainside Bible Chapel in Schroon Lake. Mr. Zetterberg served as treasurer, trustee, Sunday school teacher and youth leader of the Alliance Church. He was also directly involved with the construction of The Alliance Church on DeGarmo Road in Poughkeepsie. After relocating to Paradox Lake, he became a member of the Mountainside Bible Chapel, where he served as deacon. He taught mechanical drawing and drafting at Dutchess Community College in the late 1960s. Mr. Zetterberg had a fabulous zest for life with a passion for boating and woodworking and was able to retire at his dream home on Paradox Lake. Survivors include his wife, Jean Zetterberg of LaGrangeville; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Scott Hill of Middletown, N.Y.; son and daughter-in-law, Bob Zetterberg and Roberta Humphrey of LaGrangeville; daughter and son-in-law, Lois and John Worthmann of Poughkeepsie; seven grandchildren, Adrienne Zetterberg and her husband, Scott Earnest of Boulder, Colo., Tara Hill of St. Louis, Mo., Trevor Hill of Macon, Ga., Trent Hill of Middletown, N.Y., Matthew Lindsay and Lisa Worthmann of Poughkeepsie. A celebration of life will take place Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Mountainside Bible Chapel, Route 9, Schroon Lake with Pastor Roger Ellison officiating.
