Rutland, Vt. -- Mary C. Baccei, 87, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Rutland Regional Medical Center. She was born in Fair Haven, Vt., March 22, 1918, the daughter of Merrill and Marjorie (Martineau) Curren. Mary was a 1936 graduate of Fair Haven High School. She entered nurses training in 1939 at Rutland Hospital, graduating in 1942. She was a registered nurse at Proctor Hospital and Rutland Hospital. Surviving are a son, Edward Baccei and his wife, Penelope, of Portsmouth, R.I., and their children, Stephanie Baccei of Easton, Mass., Christopher Baccei and his wife, Robyn, of East Greenwich, R.I., and their sons, Gavin and Avery; a daughter, Sharon Howard and her husband, Bruce, of Rutland, Vt., and their children, Courtney Howard of Burlington, Vt., Meg Howard and Drew Howard, both of Rutland, Vt.; four sisters, Elaine Sommo of Glens Falls, Lois Johnson of Port Orange, Fla., Reta Tommaney of Mars, Pa., and Merle Ross of Albuquerque, N.M.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward F. Baccei in 1992. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Union Church of Proctor. Burial will follow in South Street Cemetery in Proctor, Vt. Corentto, Lawrence "Larry" HUDSON FALLS -- Lawrence "Larry" Corentto, 87, of Lower Allen Street, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on Aug. 7, 1917, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Alexander and Rose (Gallo) Corentto. Larry was a 1935 graduate of Saint Mary's Academy in Glens Falls. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy aboard the heavy cruiser USS Louisville, for 2-1/2 years, in the Philippines. He received several medals of honor during his active tour of duty. He was a self-employed propane gas dealer in this area for many years and also a salesman for Patrick's Vending Company in Glens Falls. Larry was a communicant of St. Mary's/St. Paul's Church in Hudson Falls. He was also an active member of the Monsignor Arthur S. Kiffin Knights of Columbus Council 296 of Hudson Falls for over 35 years as well as the Usher's Society of St. Mary's/St. Paul's Church. Larry was a devoted father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, reading, sports and especially horse racing in Saratoga. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Louise (Marino) Corentto; four sisters, Algie Mosher, Janet Barody, Elizabeth Martino and Mary "Dolly" Cottrell; and two brothers, Daniel Corentto and Patrick Corentto. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Corentto of Albany and Kathryn (Corentto) Rezendes of Hudson Falls; one grandson, David Rezendes of Hudson Falls; he was a very special "Uncle Larry" to his many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; he is also survived by cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law and many close friends. Deyette Sr., 62, of Hudson Falls, went into the arms of the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at the Glens Falls Hospital, after a short illness. Born on Dec. 13, 1942, in Hudson Falls, he was the son of the late Leon and Louise (Nailor) Deyette. On Feb. 23, 1963, he married Patricia Vaughn at St. Mary's/St. Paul's Church in Hudson Falls. Jack learned the trade of blacktopping through his father's business. With the passing of his father, he created his own blacktopping business, continuing the Deyette trademark of quality blacktopping. He enjoyed spoiling his grandson, Matthew Ballard II, and watching him grow into a handsome young man. He looked forward to cake and coffee in the morning with his son and daughter-in-law, Jack, and Sharon. He also enjoyed lunch breaks with his son, Jack and every now and then, sneaking out to lunch with his daughter, Tammy. Other interests included spending time at his camp and in the garage with Matt and friends, watching and feeding his birds, shopping on weekends with his wife, Pat, and his NASCAR Sunday afternoons with his best buddy, Randell Davis. His family thanks their daughter and sister, Tammy, for making Jack's last days as comfortable as possible. In addition to his parents, two sisters, Nancy Gifford and Joan Daggett; and two brothers, Leon Deyette Jr. and Alexis Deyette, all passed away before him. DiResta, 93, of Adams Street, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at the Orchards Nursing Centre, Inc., in Granville. Born on Jan. 23, 1912, in Whitehall, he was the son of the late Peter and Angeline (Moroni) DiResta. On March 17, 1973, he married Mary McLaughlin at Our Lady of Angels Church in Whitehall sharing 28 years of marriage until her passing on Feb. 22, 2001. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in Central Europe, Normandy and France. After his discharge, he worked for the Whitehall Times and later for the Independent Newspaper. Anthony was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, a Third Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 276 and a member of the American Legion, Post No. 83 of Whitehall. Besides his parents and his loving wife, he was predeceased by his brothers, Tom, Pat and James. He is survived by two brothers, Gene DiResta and his wife, Gloria, of Honolulu, Hawaii and John DiResta of Saratoga Lake; two sisters-in-law, Dot DiResta and Kay Affinito of Whitehall and one brother-in-law, Roger McLaughlin and his wife, Barbara, of Fort Ann and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was born on Nov. 24, 1924, in Albany to John and Helen Teator Kane. Helen was a veteran of the Women's Army Corp during World War II and worked at GE in Schenectady, BT Babbitt, and Son's Tavern in Albany. Helen will be remembered for her love of family, music, her excellent cooking which her family will sorely miss, and sewing and great sense of humor. She was very creative and giving and was known for donations of her quilting work which she and her husband created together. She was a loyal member to the church. She often shared fond memories of playing bridge with her dear friends in Glens Falls, where she lived for years. Helen was the beloved wife of 52 years to Robert A. Gentner Sr., who passed away in December 2001. Cherished mother of Dolores Ryan of Clifton Park, Eileen (Sam) Hemingway of Hinesburg, Vt., and Robert (Heidi) Gentner of Clifton Park and the late James Wessels; grandmother of Joshua and Jessica Pagliuca, Amos and William Hemingway, Haley Gentner, Mandy Wakem, Matthew and Scott Wessels; great-grandmother of Khalil Young; she is survived by a brother, Charles (Pat) Kane of Valrico, Fla.; brother-in-law, James Gentner of San Antonio, Texas; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Londrigan, Ralph Richard GLENS FALLS -- Ralph Richard Londrigan, 88, of Vanderheyden Street, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2005, at his home, following a long illness. Born on Nov. 29, 1916, in Smith's Basin, he was the son of the late Maurice and Maude (Owens) Londrigan. Dick was a 1933 graduate of Hudson Falls High School. He joined the U.S. Army during World War II and served in the Aleutian Islands. On April 15, 1950, he married Muriel Slavin at the First Presbyterian Church in Hudson Falls. Dick worked as a parts manager for both the Ford Garage on Warren Street and Parson's Ford on Upper Glen Street, both formerly in Glens Falls. Until his retirement in 1981, he worked 21 years at the Embassy Shirt Factory, formerly in Glens Falls. He was a member of American Legion Post 574 in Hudson Falls. He enjoyed walking, reading and years ago playing baseball for the Merchants Semi Pro Baseball Team in Hudson Falls. Family members who died before him include his infant daughter, Linda Londrigan; and three brothers, Harold, Maurice Jr. and Owen Londrigan. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Muriel Londrigan of Glens Falls; their four children, Viki Anderson and her husband, Chris, of Queensbury, Mark Londrigan, of Glens Falls, Gary Londrigan and his wife, Carolyn, and Keith Londrigan and his wife, Stephanie, all of Queensbury; their five grandchildren, Ian and Darrin Anderson and Ryan, Patrick and Seth Londrigan, all of Queensbury; his sister-in-law, Kay Londrigan of Queensbury; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. (Hank) Meyer, of Lake George, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital, following complications from surgery. Born Jan. 7, 1920, in New York City, he was the son of the late Henry and Emma Meyer. Hank attended Michigan State University on academic scholarship for one year. At the outbreak of World War II, he attended officer's training school. As a tank commander, his leadership and bravery in combat, including fighting in the Battle of the Bulge, was recognized by his being awarded two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars. Upon returning to the United States after the war, he joined Pan American Airways. His career at Pan Am spanned three decades, including supervising the maintenance of the first fleet of 747 airliners at Idlewild Airport. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, as well as a driving force in the establishment of the Lifeline Center and the Center of the Developmentally Disabled serving on their Board of Directors. He was a strong advocate of educational and residential facilities for persons with disabilities, especially autism. He took early retirement in 1979, which enabled him to spend more time on his many hobbies including woodworking, oil painting, golf, trips to Saratoga Race Course and family card games. Hank was a devoted husband and father and a doting grandfather, reveling in the accomplishments of his four grandchildren who often visited him at his home in Lake George. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Kay) Meyer for over 57 years, who survives him, along with their children, Thomas Meyer and Kathleen Meyer of San Francisco, Calif., Todd Peter Meyer of Jericho, N.Y., and Marianne Meyer of Reston, Va.; four grandchildren, Alison and Adam Arella and Emma and Grace Poltrack. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Helen Meyer of West Islip, N.Y., and Ben and Lorraine Meyer of Central Islip; his son-in-law, Terence Poltrack; and numerous other family members who were fortunate to have spent many happy times with "Uncle Hank" in the Adirondacks area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Emma Meyer and his mother-in-law, Catherine Azar. Nichols, Pauline Rose Glens Falls -- Pauline Rose Nichols, age 69, died Thursday morning, July 21, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 16, 1936, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Michael and Teresa (Orsini) Massiano. She was a graduate of Saint Mary's Academy, Glens Falls. Pauline married John L. Nichols Sr. on April 15, 1956, at St. Mary's Church, Glens Falls. Mr. Nichols died on July 20, 1988. She was employed as an insurance specialist for various area agencies. She began her insurance career as office manager for Nate Proller Insurance Company and later worked at various agencies including Cool, Adirondack Regional Insurance and Associates of Glens Falls prior to her retirement in 2000. Pauline had also worked as a Residential Counselor for Warren-Washington County Mental Health. Pauline loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, drawing, playing the piano and music. She will be remembered as a generous, loving and selfless woman with a tremendous sense of humor. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by one sister, Carmella "Millie" Cullen and one brother, James Massiano. Survivors include her four children, John L. Nichols Jr. of South Glens Falls, Paula M. Hughes and her husband, Donald of Hadley, Michael J. Nichols of Hudson Falls and Amy Nichols of Queensbury; four grandchildren, Hallie Jo Nichols, Triston Hughes, Hunter Nichols-Suttle and Liam Hughes; one sister, Rosemary Rogers and her husband, Fred, of Glens Falls; one brother, Michael Massiano and his wife, Joyce, of Queensbury; her mother-in-law, Harriet Harrington of Saratoga Springs: two sisters-in-law, Marie Massiano of Glens Falls, Myrtle Palmer of Saratoga Springs; and one aunt, Marge Orsini of South Glens Falls and several nieces and nephews. Smith, 74, of Jenkinsville Road, passed away on Wednesday evening, July 20, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital, after a short illness. Shirley was born on July 14, 1931, and grew up in Fort Ann. She was the daughter of the late Leon and Gertrude (Yarter) Walker of Fort Ann. She graduated from the Fort Ann High School in the Class of 1949. Shirley was also a graduate of Albany Business College. Her employment included the Prudential Insurance Company and Glens Falls Hospital. She left the hospital so that she could be a dedicated wife and mother. Her passions included horses, gardening, traveling, skiing and tennis. Shirley enjoyed her daily walks around the block and talking to her neighbors. She also enjoyed her weekly line-dancing class at the Moreau Community Center. She also had a special love of the great outdoors. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Clyde E. Smith of Queensbury; her children, Gregory Smith and his wife, Michele, of Placerville, Calif., Cindy Smith of Brookfield, Conn., and Alicia Butler and her husband, David, of South Glens Falls; her four grandchildren, Jessica and Trevor Smith of Placerville, Calif., and Davin and Dylan Butler of South Glens Falls; her brothers, Leon Walker and his wife, Sally, and Raymond Walker, all of Fort Ann; her sister-in-law, Joyce Smith and her husband, Dave, of Hudson Falls; her nieces and nephews; and her close family friend, Leslie Costa of Brookfield, Conn. Tubbs, 85, formerly of Antone Mountain Road, went to join God on Thursday, July 21, 2005, at the Stanton Nursing Centre in Queensbury following a long illness. Born on Oct. 28, 1919, in Lake Luzerne, she was the daughter of the late Seymour and Nellie (Johnson) Naatz. Mrs. Tubbs graduated from Lake Luzerne High School in 1936. She married Albert Earl Tubbs on Dec. 2, 1936, in Lake Luzerne and the couple resided in Lake Luzerne for many years. Following her husband's death in 1963, she lived for many years in Hadley. Mrs. Tubbs enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting, her cats, and most of all her family. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one daughter, Rosalie Miner; one son, Casper Tubbs; one sister, Anna Tedesco; three grandsons, Eugene Miner Jr., Sammy Tubbs Jr. and Frankie Pekar; one granddaughter, Arianne Tubbs; and three great-granddaughters, Tracy Miner, Patience Tubbs and Alexis Tracy. (Wrisley) Williams passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2005, at The Orchard Health and Rehabilitation Centre in North Granville. Ruth was born on July 8, 1917, in Lake Placid, N.Y., the daughter of James F. and Mary (McCann) Wrisley. Ruth graduated from Plattsburgh State College and become a teacher. She taught second grade in Fairfax, Vt., Wilmington, N.Y., and finally the Hartford Central School for 37 years. She enjoyed extensive travels with their camper and making many friends along the way. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, William W. Williams, whom she married Aug. 22, 1958. Ruth is survived by several cousins. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2005, at 2:30 p.m. at Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, with the Rev. Larry Switzer officiating.
