Born on Sept. 10, 1916, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Newton K. and Helen (Harris) Smith. She was a member of Christ Church United Methodist in Glens Falls. Jean worked for New York Telephone as an operator and for Niagara Mohawk as an operator, retiring in 1980. She enjoyed dancing, golf, gardening, spending summers in Lake George, and most of all sharing time with her family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Edward J. "Ted" Clune, in August 1970; her second husband, Anthony Cirino, in August 1987; and two brothers, Donald Smith and Harris "Pete" Smith. Survivors include her son, Thomas Clune and his wife, Susanne; a grandson, Justin Bousquet and his wife, Aimee; a granddaughter, Kristie Clune; and a sister, Helen Noonan, all of Queensbury; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be private at Pine View Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Gomez, Luella Mae ARGYLE -- Luella Mae Gomez, 71, of West Valley Road, died Monday, July 25, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on March 20, 1934, in Wolcott, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Burton and Dorothy (Grant) Phelps. Luella was employed for 20 years at the Highland Acres Convalescent Home, as a certified nurse assistant, where she was a loving caregiver. Luella, "Mimi," raised nine children, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, decorating for the holidays, and was a great cook. Besides her parents, Luella was predeceased by her brother, Olan Phelps, of Vermont. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, David Gomez Sr.; her sons: Andy of Norfolk, Conn., Timmy of Winsted, Conn., David Jr. of Norfolk, Conn., Dennis of Colebrook, Conn., Dwain of Argyle, Aaron of Winsted, Conn., and Greg Gomez of Hebron; her daughters, Monica Cole of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tammy Gomez, of Canaan, Conn.; her sisters, Lillian Byrnes, Dotty Graves, Clover Towne, and Carm Belisle, all of Vermont; her brothers, Eddy, Loyd, Dale, and Roland Phelps, all of Vermont; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kibling, George Andrus HUDSON FALLS -- George Andrus Kibling, age 75, of North Street, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at his home in Hudson Falls, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. Born in Pawlet, Vt., on Dec. 21, 1929, he was the son of the late Glenn and Bessie (Andrus) Kibling. He attended elementary school in Pawlet, Vt., and high school in Granville. George served in the U.S. Army 204th Artillery Battalion in Korea from July 1951 thru March 1953. He served two years active duty followed by six years in the Reserves. He was honorably discharged in August 1960. He married Laura Erma Hayes May 1953. They were married for 27 years and had three children: Michael, Carol and Steven. Through the years, he was employed at Willard Mountain Ski area, Fairdale Farms, United Farmers Milk Plant, Asgrow Seed Co. and the State of New York Department of Transportation, Division of Waterways, retiring from New York state in 1987 as a tugboat captain. He was a past member of The Grange and of the Cambridge-Salem Lodge No 481 Free and Accepted Masons. He remarried Theresa (Downs) Simpson Oct. 21, 1990, in a private ceremony at their home in Hudson Falls. George enjoyed being outdoors, farming, working with beef cattle and in his garden. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Theresa. His favorite trips were Hawaii and Marco Island, Fla., but most of all he enjoyed being around his loving family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant brother, Donald; his infant son, Michael; his three sisters, Virginia (Kibling) Croff, Elizabeth (Kibling) Matt, and Charlotte (Kibling) Smith; one brother, Charles Frank Kibling; and one stepson, Michael Alan Simpson. Survivors include his wife, Theresa (Downs) Simpson Kibling; one daughter, Carol (Kibling) Hamilton and her husband, David, of Cambridge; one son, Steven George Kibling of Cambridge; two stepsons, Larry Simpson and his wife, Jill, of Glens Falls, and David Simpson and his wife, Tammy, of Tucson, Ariz.; one stepdaughter, Michele Simpson Sullivan of Agawam, Mass.; three sisters: Patricia (Kibling) Renaud of Danielson, Conn, Ruth (Kibling) Lorette and her companion, Ronald Austin, of Gansevoort, and Kathryn (Kibling) Bennett and her husband, Herb, of Gansevoort; two brothers, Robert Stanley Kibling and his wife, Rita, of Medical Lake, Wash., and Ralph Glenn Kibling and his wife, Nathalie, of Hudson Falls; three brothers-in-law, Robert L. LaMora, 38, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 25, 2005, at his home. Born on Oct. 7, 1966, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Garry and Lois (Brown) LaMora, Sr. Keith was employed at ICON in Latham at the time of his death. He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking, fishing gardening and canoeing. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.. Keith was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Elmer Brown, and his paternal grandparents, Henry G. LaMora and Evelyn LaMora. Monaco, Dorothy "Dee" BALLSTON SPA -- Dorothy "Dee" Monaco, 46, formally of Scott Street, Ballston Spa, died Tuesday July 26, 2205, at her home on Sand Creek road in Edinburg. Born Sept. 9 1958, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of John and Gladys Riley. Dorothy formally owned and operated Monaco Flooring in Ballston Spa with her late husband, Benny Monaco. She loved to go fishing and being a grandmother. She was predeceased by her mother, Gladys Riley. Survivors include her two daughters, Melinda Duane of Ballston Spa, and Deanna Garney of Ballston Spa; four grandchildren: Austin and Mattalyn Garney, Amanda Duane and Damien Oaokransinski. Polezoes, 87, of Stewart Street, Amsterdam, and 100 Mercury Ave. South, Clearwater, Fla., 33765; passed away Friday morning, July 22, 2005, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla.. Born in Chicago, on Aug. 22, 1917, she was the daughter of the late John and Kate Costandakis Coclanis. She moved to Schenectady as a child and lived in Glens Falls for a number of years, before moving to Amsterdam 50 years ago. A homemaker, she was a member of St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in Schenectady, and more recently of Holy Trinity G.O. Church in Florida and the Daughters of Penelope. For many years, she and her husband owned thoroughbred horses and raced them at Saratoga. She was a member of the New York Harness and Racing Association. For the past 20 years, Blanche and her husband made Clearwater, Fla. their winter home. She and her beloved husband, Dr. Chris Polezoes, were married for 53 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a cousin, Theos Gazetas of Albany; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will take place at the Glens Falls Cemetery at a later date. Thayer, Helene J. GLENS FALLS -- Helene J. Thayer, 65, of Ridge Street, wife of Paul Thayer, passed away Wednesday morning, July 27, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital, following a long illness, with her loving husband by her side. Born Feb. 28, 1940, in Granville, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Mary (Gilbert) Doty. Being raised in the Granville area, Helene attended and graduated from Granville Central School. She met and later married Paul Thayer on Feb. 27, 1960, at St. Mary's Church in Granville, sharing six children and 45 wonderful years together until her untimely passing. For about 28 years, Helene owned and operated Helene's Variety Store in Rutland, Vt., then took employment at Rutland Regional Medical Center for about 10 more years, until her physical disabilities forced her to retire. Her enjoyments included all sports, especially football and NASCAR, with Junior being her favorite driver. She loved to watch her children and grandchildren participate in sports and would always be there to cheer them on. Another enjoyment was going to Lake George in the summers with her family. She also was quite a history buff. She would often read about, watch movies on, or visit sites of historical value. Helene was an active member of Catholic Daughters from about 1969 to 1985 at Christ The King Parish in Rutland. Besides her parents, one sister, Agnes Van Guilder, two infant brothers, her in-laws, Romeo and Olive Mayo, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, all predeceased her. Survivors, besides her loving husband, Paul Thayer, include five sons: George Thayer and his wife, Annette, of Henrietta, N.Y., Christopher P. Thayer and his wife, Debbie, of Rutland, Stephen Thayer and his wife, Jody, of Scarborough, Maine, Kevin Thayer and his wife, Nicole, of Sheldon, Vt., and Gregory Thayer and his wife, Julianne, of Rutland; one daughter, Kelly Turner and her husband, Michael, of Brookline, N.H.; 19 grandchildren: Amanda, Shaina, John, Laura, Joshua, Matthew, Maurice, Westley, Cameron, Alexa, Mercedes, Olivia, Morgan, G. Leighton, G. Alec, Macey, Stephanie, Evan, and Ariel; one great-grandchild, Kaidin; one brother, David Doty and his wife, Patty, of Granville; two sisters, Madeline Crandall and her husband, Ned, of Granville, and Caroline Juckett, also of Granville; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. Wagoner, Elsie Helena STONY CREEK -- Elsie Helena Wagoner, 88, died suddenly Wednesday morning, July 27, 2005, of a heart attack at Glens Falls Hospital. Born March 19, 1917, in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Hammer) Retz of Watervliet, and wife of the late Richard B. Wagoner of Stony Creek. After graduating from Watervliet High School in 1934, Elsie worked at various retail and hospitality positions until her marriage to Richard on June 18, 1938. Elsie was a devoted wife, mother and career homemaker, providing a beautiful, nurturing and hospitable home for her family and many friends. Her many talents included beautifully landscaped gardens and borders of flowering native and exotic perennials and annual plants, bushes and trees. Her lovely hand hooked Persian style rugs, Adirondack patchwork quilts and crocheted lace adorn her Victorian themed farmstead. Elsie and her husband, Richard, enjoyed renovating and decorating several vintage homes. They often visited their children and grandchildren throughout the U.S. and enjoyed many trips touring countries on five continents. Elsie was a devoted 40-year member at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Lake Luzerne, serving as greeter and coffee hour hostess (famous for her cheese cake and apple cake). She was a faithful member of the prayer chain for those in need of prayer and mailed Sunday bulletins and greetings to members out of town or sick. Elsie worked diligently at bake sales, dinners, bazaars and fund raising events. Elsie was a member of the Stony Creek Historical Society, the Stony Creek Senior Citizens and the Tri-Town Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her parents John (1949) and Helen (1967) Retz, her beloved husband, Richard B Wagoner (1992), and brother, Frank Retz (2004). Elsie is survived by her daughter, Elisa Gaye Wagoner, of Stony Creek, her son, Richard B. Wagoner and daughter-in-law, Mary Wagoner of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren: Simon and Andjela Smith of Toronto Ontario, Gaebrielle Smith of Los Angeles, Melody Smith and Jason Krostofer of Beverly Hills, Calif., Aimee Smith of Los Angeles, Calif., David and Morganne Perry of Denver Colo., Ben and Stacey Wagoner of Bakersfield, Calif., Matthew and Kathy Wagoner of Denver Colo.; 13 great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grand child. A Requiem Mass will be conducted at 1p.m., Saturday, July 30, at St Mary's Episcopal Church, 220 Lake Ave., Lake Luzerne, with the Very Rev. William Love officiating.
