He was born in Peru, July 2, 1918, the son of Gordon and Ruth (Finney) Cromie. Donald graduated from Peru High School, Class of 1936, and of Plattsburgh Business School. He married Edith Brand on Jan. 16, 1943, at her home, with the Rev. Robert Thomas, pastor of the Peru Community Church, officiating. They enjoyed 62 years of life together. He owned and operated the family dairy farm until 1961, at which time he joined his sister, Barbara Threw, in managing the Ross E. Clark Insurance Agency for the next 22 years. He retired in 1982. Donald served on the Peru Board of Education for six years, and also held positions in the Peru Community Church of which he was a member for 65 years. He was a member of AuSable River Lodge No. 149 Free and Accepted Masons, and in 1999 he received a certificate for 60 years of membership and at that time he was announced as the oldest living member of the lodge. In his young life, his greatest pastime was bowling and in later years he took up golfing and square dancing. The highlight of his square dancing was attending a National Convention in Baltimore, Md. Throughout his life he enjoyed a good game of pinochle. Survivors include his wife, Edith (Brand) Cromie of Peru; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Alan Brault of Peru, and Gail and Larry Gonyo of Queensbury; five grandchildren and spouses: Scott and Theresa Brault of Peru, Steven and Rebecca Brault of Morrisonville, Brian Gonyo of Clifton Park, Dr. Carol Sue Gonyo of Clifton Park, and Jay Gonyo of Latham; two great-grandsons, Austin and Nathan Brault of Peru; the daughter of his sister, Patti Hamilton; and several other nieces and nephew. He was predeceased by his parents, Gordon Cromie, in 1939; his mother, Ruth Finney Cromie Clark in 1992; and his sister, Barbara Thew, in 1990. Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A masonic service will be held at 1:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the Peru Community Church, with the Rec. Dr. Robert Svenson, pastor, officiating. Frasier, Patricia Mae Duell WARRENSBURG -- Patricia Mae Duell Frasier, 65, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on April 20, 1940, in Glens Falls, she was the second oldest child of 11 to the late Fred and Edna (Wood) Duell. Patricia lived and worked in the Adirondack region throughout her life, while raising her family in Hague. She was an avid gardener who loved knitting and spending time outdoors. She dedicated her life to raising her seven children, after being widowed in 1974. She continued to play a primary role in helping to raise her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving mother to not only her children, but her grandchildren as well and will be remembered for her willingness to give up everything for her family even if she was left with nothing for herself. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Carl Frasier; two grandchildren, Amanda and Alec Frasier; and three siblings, Douglas Duell, Linda Duell and Kenneth Duell. She is survived by her seven children: John Frasier and his partner, Nancy DeMarais, of Hague, Eric Frasier and his partner, Sue DeVino, of Glens Falls, Tammy Wilcox and her husband, Skip, of Lake Luzerne, Carl Frasier and his wife, Melissa, of Queensbury, Jan Tucker and her husband, Randy, of Hudson Falls, Jodi Gijanto and her husband, Jason, of Warrensburg, and her youngest child, Kenneth Frasier and his partner, Kelley Squires, of Schuylerville. Patricia is also survived by 14 grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. In addition, she was grandmother to 10 of her children's stepchildren and three of their great-grandchildren. She is also survived by seven siblings: Barbara Irish of Warrensburg, Rusty Duell of Warrensburg, Mike Duell of Florida, Veronica Shuman of Lake Luzerne, Connie Wheeler of Florida, Ronald Duell of Missouri, and Lisa Duell of Corinth; and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. Burial will take place at May Memorial Cemetery in Hague at the convenience of the family. QUEENSBURY -- Shirley M. Mitchell, 75, of Vaughn Road, Queensbury, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at home. She was the beloved wife of Roland Mitchell. Born on Aug. 21, 1929, Shirley was the daughter of the late Louis and Frances (Jenkins) Payne. She was born and raised on Jenkinsville Road, Queensbury, where she would later raise her own children. She attended the schoolhouse at Oneida Corners. Her ancestors include some of the earliest settlers in Queensbury as well as in the Raquette Lake area. Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Beswick; her daughter, Linda Mitchell; her sister, Geraldine Banta; and her stepgrandson, Alfie Sutch. Shirley spent much of her time in the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. She and her husband, Robert, built a camp on Loon Lake, Chestertown, where she raised her children in the summers during the 1950s and 60s. After her marriage to Roland, they traveled extensively in their various campers and RVs. They spent many winters in the South, with friends in Florida and South Carolina. In the summers they motored throughout the Adirondacks and Northeast. One summer they traveled to Alaska and back. Children and grandchildren were often on board for their journeys. While she enjoyed her travels in the camper, there was no place like home for her. She was always eager to get back to her children and grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Roland, she leaves behind a large family who will miss her very much, including her children, Colleen Cook and her husband, David, of Queensbury, Kathleen Williams and her husband, Mark, of Loon Lake, Holly Vaughn and her husband, David, of Queensbury, and Roland Mitchell II and his wife, Kerry, of Queensbury. She also leaves stepchildren: Doug Mitchell and his wife, Lynn, of Fort Ann, Susan Sutch and her husband, Fred, of Galway, and Kathleen Mitchell of Tribes Hill. She is survived by grandchildren: Scott Mitchell, Stacy Balcom, Jeremy Williams, Ryan Vaughn, Travis Cook, Justin Vaughn, Amanda Mitchell, Abigail Mitchell, and Starlett Cook; and stepgrandchildren, Jenny, Andy, Kylee, Lance, and Rosie. She leaves 11 great-grandchildren as well. She is also survived by her brother, Sidney Payne and his wife, Marion, of Argyle; and her sister-in-law, Ethelyn Belanger of Connecticut. She leaves many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Gary Banta of Queensbury, many cousins, and many dear friends. Her family meant everything to her, and she to them. Robichaud, Stanley Joseph "Tiny" QUEENSBURY -- Stanley Joseph "Tiny" Robichaud, 78, of West Mountain Road, passed away Wednesday evening June 8, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born March 23, 1927, at his family home on Ridge Road in Queensbury, he was the son of the late Eli and Rose (North) Robichaud Sr. "Tiny" met and later married Evelyn Hall on Aug. 24, 1952. He was employed with Finch Pruyn of Glens Falls as a laborer unloading the pulp trucks for many years. "Tiny" was a big lovable teddy bear that truly enjoyed taking day trips, and especially traveling to Maine with his wife, sister, Bev, and her husband, Louie. Besides his parents, three sisters, Frances Conway, Loretta Donohue, and Shirley Young, along with two brothers, Vernon and Eli "Sam" Robichaud Jr., all predeceased him. Survivors include his loving wife of almost 53 years, Evelyn Robichaud; one daughter, Cheryl Hull and her husband, Ricky, of Houston, Texas; two grandsons, Ricky and Joshua also of Houston, Texas; one sister, Beverly Gauthier of Glens Falls; one brother, Robert Robichaud and his wife, Pat, of Queensbury; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends, with special mention of Beverly Cleavland of Glens Falls. At Tiny's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Friends are invited to join his family for a graveside committal service today, June 11, at 11 a.m. at West Glens Falls Cemetery, next to West Glens Falls Rescue Squad near Northway Exit 18 with the Rev. Tarricone, Angelo "Terry" LAKE LUZERNE -- Angelo "Terry" Tarricone, age 81, of Read Park Road, died Wednesday evening, June 8, 2005, at Albany Medical Center. Born on April 7, 1924, in Yonkers, he was the son of Joseph and Theresa (Foggetti) Tarricone. Terry served in the United States Coast Guard as a Seaman First Class aboard the USS Coronado (PF-38) during World War II and had participated in the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Upon his honorable discharge from the Coast Guard he enrolled in Franklin School of Professional Art in Manhattan and became a professional animator working for various studios in New York City on commercial television programs and advertising campaigns. Some of his best known animation was displayed in such beloved characters as Felix the Cat, Spider-Man, Mighty Mouse, Mister Magoo and Hercules. It was at one of the art studios, TerryToons in New Rochelle, where Terry met Frances Miraglia. They married on Feb. 4, 1951, in Port Chester, where they settled to raise their family. In the early 70s, the family relocated to Lake Luzerne where Terry eventually embarked upon a second successful career in the medical instruments manufacturing industry. This began at Medi-Dyne in Queensbury, continued at American Edwards and culminated at AngioDynamics of Queensbury, where Terry's outstanding talent for graphic design, along with a keen creative mind, enabled him to become an accomplished product development engineer. Terry considered his contribution in this field to be his most meaningful and personally rewarding work, and he pleasurably continued it until the onset of his illness at the age of 80. Terry had a fine appreciation of art, especially film and photography. He enjoyed nature and taking walks with Mick. Terry was predeceased by his wife, Frances Tarricone. Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Tarricone of Peekskill; two sons, Len Tarricone of Latham, and David Tarricone and his wife, Wendy, of Brunswick; two grandsons, Nicholas and Christopher Tarricone of Brunswick; and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Church of the Holy Infancy, Lake Luzerne. Burial, with full military honors, will be at Holy Infancy Cemetery, Lake Luzerne. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
