Born on Nov. 29, 1966, in Glens Falls, he was the son of William and Donna (White) Elder of Gansevoort. Bill attended South Glens Falls Central School. He worked as painter/taper for several construction companies throughout the area. Bill was very artistic and enjoyed drawing, singing and tattooing. He had the ability to make everyone smile and always kept people laughing. His paternal grandparents, John and Dorothy Elder, predeceased him. Survivors besides his parents include his maternal grandparents, Donald and Doris White of Fort Edward; his son, Kyle Elder of Gansevoort; his brother, Steven S. Elder and his wife, Jamie, and their son, Zachary, of Corinth; his sister, Dawn Sylofski and her husband, Michael, of Gansevoort; his aunts, Patricia Stone and her husband, Chet, of Clifton Park, and Darlene Ball and her husband, Perry, of Fort Ann; his uncles; Paul White and his wife, Julie, of Gansevoort, and Arthur "Lizard" White of Fort Edward; 10 first cousins, Allan, Justine, Gianna, Kecia, Paul, Kimberly, Kevin, Karen, Lisa, and Chet and several second cousins. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2005, at the Church of the Messiah, 296 Glen St., Glens Falls with the Rev. Robert Clark officiating. Quackenbush, Irmgard Miamisburg, Ohio -- Irmgard Quackenbush, 80, a resident of Miamisburg, Ohio, formerly of South Glens Falls, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2005, at Kettering Memorial Hospital. Irmgard was born on Feb. 22, 1925, in Wiesbaden, Germany, to the late Wilhem and Maria Koch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Quackenbush; her granddaughter, Sharon Quackenbush; and her sister, Marta Krah. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles W. (Rita J.) Quackenbush, and Robert F. (Carol) Quackenbush of Miamisburg, Ohio, and George M. (Naomi) Quackenbush of Colorado; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan (Randy) Compton of Maryland; nine grandchildren: Carrey Quackenbush, Paul Quackenbush, Anne Marie Compton, Tricia Quackenbush, Chuck Quackenbush, Kathleen Quackenbush, Connie Compton, Jonathan Quackenbush and Jimmy Quackenbush. Smith, Josephine Burdick QUEENSBURY -- Josephine Burdick Smith, 92, of Corinth Road, passed away Monday, June 13, 2005, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born May 27, 1913, in Thurman, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Ella (Grimes) Burdick. Josephine was a member of the First Church Of Christ Scientist. Besides her parents, Josephine was predeceased by two sons, Edward Smith and Clifford Smith; her five siblings: four sisters, Verna Fuller, Clarabel Sweet, Beatrice Goman, Margaret Burdick, along with one brother, Kenneth Burdick; and one daughter-in-law, Wilma Smith, Philip's wife. Survivors include two sons, Crosby Smith and his wife, Phyllis, of Queensbury, and Phil Smith of Luzerne; one daughter, Joyce Eggleston and her husband, Robert, of Queensbury and Zephyrhills, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Pauline Smith; two brothers, Earl Burdick of Stony Creek, and Harry Burdick of Luzerne; 16 grandchildren: Steve Smith and his wife, Louise, of Broadalbin, Danny Smith and his wife, Colleen, of Hudson Falls, Kenny Smith of Lewis, Susan Butler of Massachusetts, Michael Eggleston and his wife, Jan, of Deltona, Fla., Sharon Robillard and her husband, Ronald, of Queensbury, Jody Eggleston of Hudson Falls, Philip Smith and his wife, Bobby Jo, of Luzerne, Sara Nims and her husband, William, of Georgia, and Holly Coon and her husband, Lee, of Luzerne, Robert, Susan; and Michael Smith, all of Hudson Falls, Joyce Smith of Florida, Patricia Gareau and Nancy Salisbury of Rhode Island, and Carolyn West of Washington state; 29 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother was a strong presence in all of our lives and will never be forgotten! There will be no calling hours or funeral services in accordance with her wishes. Burial will be at Warrensburg Cemetery at a time convenient to the family.
