WARRENSBURG -- Mary V. Durkin, 66, of Burdick Avenue, passed away Friday, June 17, 2005, at Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Queensbury following a long illness. Born on March 24, 1939, in Lake George, she was the daughter of the Lena (Ingraham) Squires of North Creek and the late Vernon Squires. Mary married Roger T. Durkin on March 20, 1958. He passed away Nov. 20, 2001. She was a nurses' aide at Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury and the Warren County Residential Hall in Warrensburg for many years. Mary enjoyed ceramics and was past Noble Grand of the former Hackensack Rebekah Lodge 442 in Warrensburg. Besides her father, Vernon Squires, her sisters, Beverly Pavelich and Sally Hermance, a brother, Charles A. Squires, a grandson, Joseph Hammond, and a special family friend, Barbara Hurley, have also predeceased her. Survivors besides her mother, Lena Squires, include her four children: Ray Durkin and his wife, Lori, of Warrensburg; Tina Durkin of Argyle, Roger Durkin Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Warrensburg; and Terry Durkin of Queensbury; two grandsons, Brian Hammond of Bakers Mills and Stephen Hammond of Glens Falls; three granddaughters: Judi and Jennifer Durkin, both of Warrensburg, and Dixie Durkin of Glens Falls; one great- granddaughter, Amber Durkin; two brothers, Jerry Squires and his wife, Joan, of Florida, and Rudolph Squires and his wife, Denise, of Warrensburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, at Warrensburg Cemetery, with Sister Linda Hogan of St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, officiating. There are no calling hours scheduled. In lieu of flowers, Mary's family requests donations be made to the Warrensburg Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 157, Warreensburg, NY 12885 or to a charity of one's choice, in Mary's memory. The family would especially like to thank the east wing staff of the Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care Mary received. Gallione, age 61, of Fairview Road, died unexpectedly Friday morning, June 17, 2005, at home. Born on July 17, 1943, in Queens, she was the daughter of William H. and Minnie (Lohmuler) Curran. She was a 1961 graduate of Grover Cleveland High School. Arlene was employed as a customer service representative for Con Edison from 1961 to 1984. She married Ralph Gallione on April 11, 1984, and moved to Hadley in June of 1984. Arlene worked as a real estate salesperson for Toran Lake Country Real Estate in Lake Luzerne for 15 years. She enjoyed working on her computer and was a self-taught computer whiz. She also loved flowers. Arlene was predeceased by her parents and two stepchildren, Ralph Gallione Jr. and Michael Gallione. Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Ralph Gallione; one brother, William R. Curran and his wife, Kathy, of Hadley; her stepchildren, Annmarie Gambardella and her husband, Rafeal, of Syosset, and Paul Gallione and his wife, Susanne, of Beverly, Maine; eight step- grandchildren: Emilia Gambardella, Eileen Gambardella and Karen Gambardella, Jennifer Gallione, Andrew Gallione, Thomas Gallione, Jodie Gallione and Christine Gallione; one niece, Maureen Curran of Glens Falls; one nephew, William Curran of the Bronx; one grandniece, Sarah Curran of Glens Falls; and her sister-in-law, Elaine Nigro and her husband, Frank, of Roslyn. A prayer service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne. Burial will be at Luzerne Cemetery, Lake Luzerne. Hicks, 87, died Friday, June 17, 2005, at the Glens Falls Hospital. She was born in Albany, July 12, 1917, the daughter of James and Irene (McComb) Francis. Janet attended the West Hebron Union School, graduated from Salem Washington Academy and the Albany Training School for Practical Nurses. As a practical nurse, Janet devoted her life to healing and helping her patients. Her employments included the Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, the Emma Lang Stevens Hospital and the Indian River Nursing Home, both in Granville. She retired from Sherwood Medical after 15 years of service. Janet enjoyed ceramics and crocheting. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Hicks, and one brother, William Francis. Survivors include two sisters, Evelyn Hamilton of Claverack and Margaret Keys of Salem; one brother, James Francis of Fonda; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. At her request, services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at North Hebron Cemetery. Hull of Salem, retired from Future Home Technology, Port Jervis, N.Y, died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital, Saratoga Springs. He was 73. He was born Feb. 23, 1932, in Port Jervis, the son of the late Bertrum and Elmira "Mida" McKane Hull. Ed was the widower of the late Helen M. Hughes Hull. She died Feb. 12, 1995. He was a lifetime resident of the Port Jervis area until moving to the Corinth and Salem area in August, 2000. Survivors include four sons: B. Allen Hull and his wife, Drusilla, of Salem, N.Y., Edward C. Hull of Seattle, Wash., Robert Hull of California, and Walter Hull of New York state; five daughters: Dolores Sickles of Scranton, Pa., Helen Hack and her husband, Daniel, of Scranton, Pa., LouMarie McDermitt of Bogulosa, La., Lilli Hull of Carbondale, Pa., and Josephine Hull of New York state; a brother, Eugene Hull of Salem, N.Y.; 25 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his companion, Rita Marcotte and her two sons, Frank and Joseph "Bones" Marcotte; a daughter, Margaret Ovitt; a daughter-in-law, Anette Marcotte, wife of the late Joseph Leo Marcotte Jr. Funeral services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, N.Y., with the Rev. Taylor, Nathan Willis "What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose; all that we love deeply, becomes a part of us." JOHNSBURG -- Nathan Willis Taylor, 4 lbs. 8 oz., infant son of John Taylor and Heather Lewis of Hill Cottage Road, Johnsburg, was called to heaven to be another special angel, Thursday evening, June 9, 2005, from Albany Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family, joining his two paternal aunts, Amanda and Denise Taylor, and his paternal great-grandfather, Willis Hastings. Before his passing, he was awarded a Certificate of Baptism by Kathleen Reilly, officiant, of St. Teresa's of Albany. Born just 27 hours prior, Wednesday afternoon, June 8, at 4:16 p.m., we will never forget his precious features, the soft touch of his skin, and how much we will miss him! Besides his parents, survivors include his three sisters, Ashleigh and Camille Taylor, and Cassidy Lewis, of Johnsburg; maternal grandparents, Wilfred "Willy" and Debbie St. Amour of Queensbury; paternal grandparents, Jennie and John Taylor of Johnsburg; maternal great-grandparents, Floyd and Margaret Batease of Queensbury; paternal great-grandmother, Abbie Hastings of Warrensburg; one maternal uncle, Ian Lewis and his fiance‚, Theresa Norton, of Warrensburg; one paternal aunt, Elizabeth Hayes and her husband, Damian, also of Warrensburg; two cousins, Lydia and Ian Hayes of Warrensburg; many great-aunts, great- uncles, and one special teddy bear, "Angel." Tucker, Harvey Leroy SOUTH GLENS FALLS -- Harvey Leroy Tucker, 66, of Mid Town Apartments, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at his home. Born in Glens Falls on Feb. 20, 1939, he was the son of the late William and Ruth (Scoville) Tucker. Harvey was a Vietnam-era veteran, serving in the Navy from 1962-1967. After he left the service, he worked as a set-up man in assembly at Fort Edward General Electric Co. He also worked for the Saratoga County Historical Society at the Brookside Museum in Ballston Spa. He loved fishing in the Hudson River off Big Boom Road. He enjoyed teaching guitar and playing his guitar for others to enjoy. He also enjoyed repairing televisions and radios. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers: Daniel Tucker, William Tucker and Corlis Tucker; and a sister, Carol Rawson. Survivors include his son, Christopher Tucker, of Schuylerville; a daughter, Gwenn Saylors, and her companion, Louis Luciano III, of South Glens Falls; and one granddaughter, Monica Saylors, of Albany. He is also survived by three sisters: Sylvia Brown of Glens Falls, Brenda Devine and her husband, Pete, of Providence, R.I., and Violet Washburn and her husband, Orlie, of Queensbury; four brothers: Leslie Tucker and his wife, Beverly, of Queensbury, Winston Tucker of Queensbury, Perry "Mike" Tucker and his wife, Jackie, of Glens Falls and Floyd Tucker and his wife, Ida, of Lake Luzerne; a special nephew, Greg Brown; and many other nieces and nephews.
