She was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on April 8, 1932, the daughter of William Moran Sr. and C. Florence (Murray) Moran. Mary was a loving mother and wife and is survived by her husband of 50 years, Stephen H. Anderson; her son, Tom of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; son, Kevin of Sacramento, Calif.; and her daughter, Stephanie of Sarasota, Fla.; her brothers, William J. Moran and George H. Moran of Duchess County, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews and beloved lifetime friends, to many to count. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic church in Cape Coral, Fla. Guerrie, Janice Landry "Jan" Queensbury -- Janice "Jan" Landry Guerrie, 76, passed away on Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital after a long illness. Born on Sept. 27, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Wynetta (Garrity) Landry. She was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church and a 50-year member of St. Ann Sodality. Janice retired after 27 years at Glens Falls Middle School Cafeteria. She worked previously at Troy Shirt Guild for many years. Jan also worked as candy department manager of Kresge Five & Dime. She was an avid reader and could shop until you drop with her sister Ann. She was also considered a great cook. Janice married Angelo Guerrie on June 8, 1947. They were married for 55 years. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Angelo Guerrie, who passed away on May 10, 2002; her sisters, Melba Bulman and Barbara Persutti; and her brother, Robert G. Landry. She is survived by her children, John Paul (JP) Guerrie and his fianc‚, Sharon LaSarso, of Queensbury, Kimberly Romano and her husband, Peter, of South Glens Falls; one cherished granddaughter, Alyssa Maurer of South Glens Falls; two step-grandchildren, Matthew and Anthony Romano of South Glens Falls; her sister, Ann Oligny and her husband, Kenneth, of Burnt Hills; sister-in-law, Loretta Landry; brother-in-law, Albert Persutti; sister and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Robert Patrenets of Corinth; her cherished aunt, Ernestine (Tine) Morehouse; and her four-legged faithful companion, "Holly"; and several nieces and nephews. Published in the Post-Star on 3/2/2005. Harrington, Catherine "Kitty" GRANVILLE -- Catherine "Kitty" Harrington, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital after a short illness. She was born June 26, 1913, in Long Branch, N.J., the daughter of the late John and Catherine Vastek Mulligan. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, in 1988; her son, Larry in 1985; her daughter-in-law, Edith in 1997; her granddaughter, Deborah in 1971; and her two sisters, Dorthy Brennan and Martha Kelly. She is survived by her son, Edward and his wife, Josephine, of Hampton; her daughter, Jean Harrington Noll and her husband, Albert Noll, of Cumming, Ga. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. There will be no visitation in Granville. Published in the Post-Star on 3/2/2005. Mahoney, Josephine A. "JoAnn" PILOT KNOB -- Josephine A. "JoAnn" Mahoney, passed away, on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at her home in Pilot Knob. She was born in Glens Falls on March 15, 1918, the daughter of Duane and Josephine (Schneider) Irish. JoAnn was a graduate of Glens Falls High School and Cobleskill College. She was the cook for the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity House at Union College in Schenectady for 35 years. She also spent many summers cooking for the YMCA Camp Chingachgook in Pilot Knob. For six years, in the 1970s, JoAnn was a partner in the Pilot Knob Store and ran the Pilot Knob Post Office. She had been retired for 25 years. She married John A. Mahoney, on June 20, 1940, in Schenectady, N.Y. He predeceased her on Dec. 5, 1977. JoAnn had an artistic talent which showed in her many watercolor and oil paintings of Lake George. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching birds and wildlife and baking rolls for all family occasions. She loved to take long walks and visit along the way. She loved to see her five great-grandchildren and take lots of photos of them. She was featured recently in The Post-Star series, "Hamlets of Washington County," in an article about Pilot Knob. She always had a cheerful smile and optimistic outlook on life. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne "Fran" Irons and her husband, David, of Pilot Knob; her grandsons, Christopher Irons and his wife, Brenda, of Wilton, Michael Irons and his wife, Maureen, of Georgetown, Mass.; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Jonathan Irons and Jake, Kate and Erin Irons; she is also survived by a sister-in-law, Marguerite Mahoney of Warsaw, Va.; nieces, Patricia Lagasse of Plymouth, Mass., Deborah Doody and her husband, Dennis, of Mooers, N.Y.; nephews, Robert Lagasse and his wife, Charlene, of Stow, Ohio, Philip Mahoney and his wife, Claire, of Charlotte, N.C.; one grandniece and several grand nephews. Morrill, 57, of Whitehall passed away on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at the Westchester University Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y., following a liver disease. He was born on Aug. 19, 1947, in Salisbury, Vt. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served honorably for 20 1/2 years. After retirement from military service, he became a professional freight relocater. He is survived by his wife, Jo-Anne I. Morrill; two sons, Joseph Morrill and Marc Morrill; daughter-in-law, Wendy Morrill; two grandsons, Jason and Dylon Morrill; his sisters, Patricia Morrill-Trombley and Victoria Davis; brother, Steven Morrill and many other family members. Nugent, 74, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Kettering Medical Center. She was born on Aug. 17, 1930, in Glens Falls, the daughter of James and Judith (Angell) Gibson. She spent the early part of her life in Hudson Falls. Caroline attended the Emma Willard School in Troy, then received her bachelor's degree from Connecticut College for Women in 1952. Later in life she completed coursework toward a master's degree in literature, then chose to attend Nursing School in Dayton. After receiving her degree as an LPN in 1977, she worked for many years at Heathergreene Nursing Home in Xenia. For the past several years, she served as a member of the board of directors of the Greene County Humane Society and as the editor of its newsletter Paw Prints. She was married to Dr. Paul Nugent Jr., who was from East Hampton, N.Y. Caroline was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Paul Nugent Jr. of Xenia, Ohio; children, Caroline B. "Beth" Nugent of Chicago, Ill. and Paul Nugent III of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Judith (Ernest "Joe") Conklin of Tully, N.Y.; also other extended family members and friends. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2005, at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, Ohio, with Rector Pamela Gaylor. Shushan -- Wayne G. Saunders, 58, of Shushan Road, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at the Veterans Hospital in White River Junction, Vt. Born Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1946, he was the son of the late Lyndus G. "Peg" Saunders and Charlotte (Christopher) Saunders of Cambridge. Wayne was a graduate of Cambridge Central School, Class of 1965. After high school, he joined the United States Army, and served in Vietnam. He then returned to the Cambridge area. For the past 10 years, Wayne worked for Quadra Tek in Arlington. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting and working on "hit and miss" engines. Besides his mother, he is survived by two children and their spouses, Wendy and Fuald Naser of Manchester, Vt., and Wayne T. "Butch" and Raelyn Saunders, of Greenwich; four siblings, Sharon Sloan of Salem, Conn., Keith Saunders of Greenwich, Holly Boice and Chad Saunders, both of Cambridge; four grandchildren. T. J. Prive, Ameer Fuald, Skyler and Rozlyn Saunders; several nieces and nephews and his devoted companion, Sylvia Wideawake of Shushan. At Wayne's request, he is being cremated. Seeley, Cynthia "Cindy" Glens Falls -- Cynthia "Cindy" Seeley, of Glens Falls, passed away, Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Born on March 6, 1965, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Dolores Lyons. Cindy moved to the Glens Falls area at the age of 13 and graduated from Queensbury High School in 1983. She worked at Glens Falls Hospital as a secretary while attending Adirondack Community College to obtain her nursing degree. Her career in nursing encompassed the emergency room at Glens Falls Hospital and per diem at Albany Medical Center. Cindy's love for nursing also took her to High Peaks Hospice where she stayed for three years. Cindy loved life and people. She committed her life to caring and helping others. She was predeceased by her father, James Ingram; and her maternal and paternal grandparents. Cindy is survived by the loves of her life, her daughters, Samantha Corlew and Shelby Seeley; and her sons, Lucas Seeley and Kolbi Seeley all of Glens Falls; her parents, James and Dolores Lyons of Queensbury; her sisters, Christine Reid of Baltimore, Md., Charlotte Ingram of Laurel, Md., and Colleen Pearsall of Fort Myers, Fla.; several nieces and nephews and her loving friend, Andrew Garner of Queensbury. Born on Feb. 26, 1934, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., he was the son of the late Carleton Strong and Mertie Wrisley Strong of Willsboro, N.Y. Dick graduated from Willsboro Central School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. Dick's favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed boats and cars. He is survived by his mother, Mertie Strong of Willsboro; his ex-wife, Sandy Costin; his son, Jamie Strong; his daughter, Julie Nicholson and her husband, Clyde, and their son, Dustin and daughter, Rachael all of South Glens Falls; his brother, Ronald Strong and his wife, Joan, of Willsboro; his sister, Shirley Phillips of Morrisonville; and several nieces and nephews. His aunts, Velitia Shepard of Willsboro, Ella Murphy of New Jersey and Carol Wrisley of Connecticut also survive him. No calling hours are scheduled.
