Born on April 9, 1922, in Manchester, Conn., she was the daughter of William and Gladys Sayles Yare. Jean grew up in Glendale, R.I., and graduated from Burrilville High School and the University of Rhode Island, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. While at URI, she met Robert Anderson, and they were married in 1943. He died June 1, 1987. She was a member of the Burnt Hills United Methodist Church. For many years she was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout pack mother. Jean was an active member of the General Federation Women's Club of Burnt Hills, Ballston Lake, where she held many offices including president. For 20 years, she served the club as a volunteer hearing screener for preschoolers. She received a 20-year pin from the Red Cross as a bloodmobile volunteer. She was a charter member of the Fourth District Formers. She received an honor roll citation for the New York State Federation of Women's Clubs. The GFWC of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake granted her lifetime membership status. She was also a member of the BH-BL Garden Group. Some of her favorite interests and memories include: summers at Spring Lake in Rhode Island, spending time with her family and friends, solving crossword puzzles, playing bridge, attending monthly lunches with the Lunch Bunch, gardening and '40s style dancing and music. She spent most of her life as a homemaker, but also taught in the North Colonie Central School District before moving to Burnt Hills. Survivors include her three children: Judith Kennedy of Wilton, James Anderson and his wife, Ida, of Saratoga Springs, and Barbara Brunelle and her husband, Robert, of Queensbury. She is survived by eight grandchildren: Scott Kennedy and his wife, Amie, of Tully, N.Y., Kristin Mascola and her husband, Marc, of Wilton, Melissa Kennedy Panto and her husband, Joseph, of Boston, Mass., Donna Lange and her husband, Rodney, of Ballston Spa, Brenton Anderson of Fort Edward, and Ashley, Adam and Emily Brunelle of Queensbury; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Yare and his wife, Yvonne, of Tucson, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of 2B Victoria of Wesley Health Care Center for their exceptional care and kindness. Published in the Post-Star on 3/3/2005. DeRagon, Jean H. GREENWICH -- Jean H. DeRagon, a resident of Prospect Street, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born Sept. 28, 1930, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Carol and Theresa Hannon Henry and had been a lifelong resident of Greenwich. Jean had been employed at the Stevens and Thompson Paper Co. in Greenwich, and was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Greenwich. Survivors include her husband, Sherman DeRagon of Greenwich; a sister, Carol Loggins and her husband, Robert, of Saratoga Springs, and their children and grandchildren: Susan Bogardus, Robert Loggins Jr., Brent Loggins, Michael and Brandon Bogardus, Ryan, Tyler and Ashley Loggins, and Chase and Jenna Loggins; her brother-in-law, Kenneth DeRagon and his wife, Joan,, of Greenwich and family and sister-in-law, Betty McCue of Poughkeepsie and family. Fiumara, Anne (Luciano) SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Anne (Luciano) Fiumara, 87, of Saratoga Springs, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on April 12, 1917, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Camello Thomas and Elizabeth Rosati Luciano. Anne married Peter Fiumara in 1940. They were married for 63 years. Peter died on Jan. 13, 2004. She was a graduate of St. Mary's School, Hudson Falls. Anne was a communicant of St. Clement's Church in Saratoga Springs. She retired from Cluett Peabody in Troy. Besides her parents, Anne was predeceased by two brothers, Louis Luciano and Dominick M. Luciano; three sisters, Juliette Pozzuli, Jean Malandro, and Minnie Malandro; her son-in-law, Allen Flavell. CASTLETON, Vt. -- Joseph P. Graham, 69, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Rutland Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born July 22, 1935, in Moriah, the son of the late Leo and Alice (Searles) Graham. Joe was a veteran of the United States Marines. He enjoyed watching sports, animals, and loved going ice fishing. Joe was a member of the Fair Haven Eagles Club No. 3907, and the Marine Corps League. He is survived by his life companion, Jessie Marchinkowski, of Castleton; his daughter, Lori Linendoll and her husband, David, of Salem, N.Y.; his brother, Robert Graham and his wife, Terry, of Sherrill, N.Y.; his three granddaughters: Jocelyn, Kailyn, and Dana Linendoll, all of Salem; his two stepdaughters; and his five stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Ducharme Funeral Home, Inc.., 1939 Main St., Castleton, Vt. The Rev. Hodge, 74, a longtime Prospect Drive resident, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital, after a long illness. Born on April 14, 1930, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Louise (Stockwell) Chase. She married Charles Hodge on Oct. 4, 1946. He passed away in 1990. For many years, she worked as a sales clerk at the W.T. Grant stores, formerly in Glens Falls and Queensbury. Mrs. Hodge was a member of Christ Church Methodist in Glens Falls. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Nelson Chase. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Etu and her husband, Robert, of Fort Edward, and Karen Stockwell and her husband, Robert, of Queensbury; four grandchildren: John Gibson and his wife, Sherry, William Gibson and his fiance‚, Cindy Taylor, Lori Powers and her husband, Chris, and Robert Stockwell and his wife, Kazumi; three greatgrandchildren: Jacob Gibson, Emily Powers and Yukino Stockwell; a sister, Norma Trackey of Hudson Falls; one aunt, Leona Bushey of Fort Edward; and a special friend, Richard Austin, of Queensbury. Mahoney, Josephine A. "JoAnn" PILOT KNOB -- Josephine A. "JoAnn" Mahoney passed away, on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at her home, in Pilot Knob. She was born in Glens Falls, on March 15, 1918, the daughter of Duane and Josephine (Schneider) Irish. JoAnn was a graduate of Glens Falls High School and Cobleskill College. She was the cook for the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity House at Union College in Schenectady, for 35 years. She also spent many summers cooking for the YMCA Camp Chingachgook in Pilot Knob. For six years, in the 1970s, JoAnn was a partner in the Pilot Knob Store and ran the Pilot Knob post office. She had been retired for 25 years. She married John A. Mahoney, on June 20, 1940, in Schenectady, N.Y. He predeceased her on Dec. 5, 1977. JoAnn had an artistic talent which showed in her many watercolor and oil paintings of Lake George. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching birds and wildlife and baking rolls for all family occasions. She loved to take long walks and visit along the way. She loved to see her five great-grandchildren and take lots of photos of them. She was featured recently in The Post-Star series "Hamlets of Washington County" in an article about Pilot Knob. She always had a cheerful smile and optimistic outlook on life. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne "Fran" Irons and her husband, David, of Pilot Knob; her grandsons, Christopher Irons and his wife, Brenda, of Wilton, and Michael Irons and his wife, Maureen, of Georgetown, Mass.; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Jonathan Irons and Jake, Kate and Erin Irons. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Marguerite Mahoney of Warsaw, Va.; nieces, Patricia Lagasse of Plymouth, Mass., Deborah Doody and her husband, Dennis, of Mooers, N.Y.; nephews, Robert Lagasse and his wife, Charlene, of Stow, Ohio, and Philip Mahoney and his wife, Claire, of Charlotte, N.C.; one grandniece and several grandnephews. (Jarvis) Mallory, 72, a 26-year Hebron resident and now a resident of Ocala, Fla., since November of 1990, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005. Born March 18, 1932, in Tupper Lake, she was the daughter of the late William and Grace (Gonyea) Jarvis. Her husband, Charles "Peanut" Mallory Sr., died April 29, 1997, following 49 years of marriage. Lorrena was a homemaker who liked to crochet, and do crafts. She loved to camp, travel, attend flea markets and yard sales as well as tend to her flowers. Besides her husband, two grandchildren, Jason Butler and Sandra McFarland; and two brothers, Clarence and Harold Jarvis, also died before her. Born Aug. 12, 1923, in Fort Edward, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Philippa (Sheehan) Smith. Elizabeth was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Fort Edward. She enjoyed playing bridge, watching movies, and traveling with her friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles Richard McCurry, and two sisters, Margaret (Marnie) Smith and Patricia Tierney. Wohlfahrt, Emma Maria QUEENSBURY -- Emma Maria Wohlfahrt, 85, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born June 9, 1919, in Mannheim, Germany, she was the daughter of Friedrich Heinrich Roller and Emma Christina (Kohl) Roller. Mrs. Wohlfahrt was raised in Germany and married John "Hans" Wohlfahrt in May of 1939. They resided in Albany and later Chestertown, before settling permanently in Queensbury in 1959. Mrs. Wohlfahrt was employed at Glens Falls Hospital in food service as a dietary aide for many years. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing, gardening, feeding the birds, picnics and most especially spending time with her family. Mrs. Wohlfahrt was predeceased by her husband, John "Hans" Wohlfahrt, who died Dec. 21, 2004. Survivors include one son, Werner William Wohlfahrt and his wife, Nancy, of Queensbury; three granddaughters, Kristy Marie, Leslie Noel, and Emily Beth Wohlfahrt; and one sister, Gertrude Fischer of Mannheim, Germany. Graveside services and the Rite of Committal will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at St. Mary's Cemetery, Main Street, South Glens Falls, with the Rev. James M.
