QUEENSBURY -- Susan J. Blackburn passed away Thursday, March 3, 2005, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 58. She was born on Aug. 25, 1946, in Saratoga Springs. She graduated from Argyle Central School in 1964. Sue married Mike Blackburn on Jan. 6, 1979. They just celebrated 25 years of marriage. She grew up on her father's horse and dairy farm on Lick Springs Road in Argyle. She worked on the farm and showed horses at gymkhanas, fairs and expos in the tri-state area. As a teenager she worked summers at Camp Algonquin on Summit Lake. There she taught horse showing and English and Western riding. Horses were her first love. She always said the best perfume in the world was horse manure. Sue loved to travel especially after she was coaxed to take her first plane ride. Sue had a custom built Harley-Davidson in hot pink. Before retirement she started golf lessons but was very upset when her health began to keep her from that activity. She retired from Fort Edward General Electric in 2001. She had 35 years of service. Sue was very proud of her father, Leroy Marvin Humiston. He was a highly decorated veteran of World War II. Sue was a devoted wife and a loving sister. She will be greatly missed by all. Her father Roy, her late husband, Gary Brodie, and sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Bob Bates predeceased Sue. Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Mike Blackburn; her sisters and their husband: Dee and Steve Stevens, Nesi and Carl Fronhofer, Cindy and John Saunders, and Andy and Brad Wood; her brother and his wife, Gary and Linda Humiston; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Helen Blackburn, and James and Linda Blackburn. She was very fond of her aunt Rita. Her best friend, Betsy Benson, she considered here fifth sister. She is also survived by many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. At Sue's request there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. LaRich, Francis Donald GLENS FALLS -- Francis Donald LaRich, 73, passed away Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born Sept. 26, 1931, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Joseph LaRich and Nora (Mandigo) LaRich. He had worked for Ricciardelli Feed Store and Web Waste Removal in Glens Falls. Survivors include four sisters: Shirley J. Ridings of Queensbury, Beverly Paradise of South Glens Falls, Lois Bolger of Florida and Betty LaRich of Arizona. Services will be at a later date. Wohlfahrt, Emma Maria QUEENSBURY -- Emma Maria Wohlfahrt, 85, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born June 9, 1919, in Mannheim, Germany, she was the daughter of Friedrich Heinrich Roller and Emma Christina (Kohl) Roller. Mrs. Wohlfahrt was raised in Germany and married John "Hans" Wohlfahrt in May of 1939. They resided in Albany and later Chestertown, before settling permanently in Queensbury in 1959. Mrs. Wohlfahrt was employed at Glens Falls Hospital in food service as a dietary aide for many years. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing, gardening, feeding the birds, picnics and most especially spending time with her family. Mrs. Wohlfahrt was predeceased by her husband, John "Hans" Wohlfahrt, who died Dec. 21, 2004. Survivors include one son, Werner William Wohlfahrt and his wife, Nancy, of Queensbury; three granddaughters, Kristy Marie, Leslie Noel, and Emily Beth Wohlfahrt; and one sister, Gertrude Fischer of Mannheim, Germany. Graveside services and the Rite of Committal will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at St. Mary's Cemetery, Main Street, South Glens Falls, with the Rev. James M. Mackey, pastor of St. Mary's Church of Glens Falls, officiating. The family has suggested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Glens Falls Fire Department, 33 Luzerne Road, Queensbury, NY 12804 or Lake George Community Band, P.O.
