WILTON -- Mary L. Beauregard, 65, of Dimmick Road, and former longtime resident of Lansingburgh, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at her home, following a long illness. Born in Troy, April 5, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lucinda Knipe Rouse. Mary was a nurse's aide for most of her working career, lastly working for Kimberly Quality Care of Albany, and previously for Eden Park Nursing Home of Troy. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, but her utmost pleasure was taking care of her beloved grandchildren and family. Survivors include her husband, George A. Beauregard; a son, Matthew and his wife, Paula Beauregard, of Mechanicville; two daughters, Terry Beauregard of Troy and Tina and her husband, Robert White, of Wilton; two grandchildren, R.J. and Ariel White; and a great-granddaughter, Jordan; She is also survived by two sisters, Joan Morton of Virginia and Thomasina Palladino of Niskayuna; two brothers, Henry Rouse of Schaghticoke and Robert Rouse of North Carolina; and nieces and nephews. Mary was sadly predeceased by her granddaughter, Erin Beauregard. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 South Main St., Mechanicville. Burial will be at Memory's Garden in Colonie. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Cardinale, Anthony James GLENS FALLS -- Anthony James Cardinale, 81, passed away on Monday March 7, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born on Nov. 22, 1923, in Fort Edward, he was the son of the late Antonio and Nunzicata Cardinale of Fort Edward. Anthony graduated from Fort Edward High School in 1940. Shortly after, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre, where he earned several medals including the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. On July 28, 1946, Anthony married Barbara Lorraine Dickinson of Glens Falls. They resided on Wilmot Street, where they raised their nine children. Anthony was employed as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years in the Glens Falls area. He was an avid horseracing fan and worked as a mutuel clerk at the Saratoga Raceway for several years. Anthony took pleasure in gardening and maintaining his longtime residence on Wilmot Street. He also enjoyed Italian cuisine, spending time with his children, and his beloved dog, Gracie. His family will always remember his care demonstrated by his strong work ethic and his drive for excellence. Besides his parents, his five brothers: Frank J. Cardinale, Joseph A. Cardinale, Martin J. Cardinale, Carmello Cardinale and Salvatore J. Cardinale, predecease him. In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his children: Gary R. Cardinale and his wife, Nancy, of Queensbury, Joseph A. Cardinale of Queensbury, Christopher S. Cardinale of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Tina Blackburn and her husband, Greg, of Steamboat Springs, Colo., Anthony Cardinale Jr. and his wife, Dawn, of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Lori C. Higley and her husband, Robert, of Queensbury, Timothy R. Cardinale and his wife, Rebekah, of Glens Falls, Holly J. Atkins and her husband, James, of Dana Point, Calif., and John H. He is survived by his two sisters, Josephine S. Harris of South Glens Falls, and Carmella R. Larrabee and her husband, Richard, of Winter Haven, Fla. and his brother, James A. Cardinale and his wife, Lois, of South Glens Falls; and many nieces and nephews. Corlew, Hazel NORTH CREEK -- Hazel Corlew, 92, of Old River Road, passed away Monday evening, March 7, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born Feb. 8, 1913, in North Creek, she was the daughter of Orlando and Laura (Twiss) Millington. Hazel was a lifelong resident of the area and was the wife of Lee W. Corlew. Her hobbies included gardening, knitting and crocheting. She also loved mountain climbing, and climbed most of the peaks in the Adirondacks. Hazel was a member of the North Creek United Methodist Church and the Sodom Community Church. Her husband, Lee, died on Sept. 3, 1968. She was also predeceased by her five brothers: Arnold, Arvin, Robert, Roger and Gene Millington; and two sisters, Loretta Bruno and Gladys Boucher. Survivors include two sons, William "Skip" Corlew of Parrish, Fla., and Dewey Corlew of Whitehall; a sister, Alma Grace Lee of Rexford; a brother, Alvin Millington of Riparius; two granddaughters, two grandsons, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends. Born on Aug. 16, 1980, in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of Wayne D. Howe and Wendy A. (Baird) Begner. He was a 1999 graduate of Hadley Luzerne Central School. Henry was employed at Commercial Tire in Glens Falls for two years. He was a hard-working and dedicated foreman for R.C. Springer Construction in Lake Luzerne for the past five years, as well as working for several years with his father and stepmother in their logging and trucking business. He enjoyed ice fishing, hunting, visiting with his friends and family, riding his four-wheeler, snowmobiling, but truly enjoyed puttering/tinkering in his father's garage. Henry was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Henry S. and Doris M. Howe, and maternal grandparents, Ernest and Virginia Baird. Survivors include his parents, Wayne D. and Kimberly (Sutliff) Howe of Lake Luzerne and Wendy and Tim Begner of Princeville, Ill.; one sister, Kelly Dennison of Lake Luzerne; his stepgrandparents, Leslie and Sharon Sutliff of Lake Luzerne; his aunts and uncles: Sandy Plummer and her husband, Ray, of Lake Luzerne, Pat Towers and her husband, Keith, of Corinth, Diane Hanscom and her husband, Eric, of Maine, Wayne Baird and Thomas Baird, both of Casco, Maine; Sheila Sutliff of Hudson Falls, and Denise Murphy and her husband, Jim, of Saratoga Springs; as well as several cousins. Hurlburt, Lillian Stella FORT EDWARD -- Lillian Stella Hurlburt, 74, of Lock Street, Fort Edward, passed away at Glens Falls Hospital on Monday, March 7, 2005, after a long illness. Born on Dec. 29, 1930, in Whitehall, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Stephen Parker and Violet Mae (Provost) Parker. Mrs. Hurlburt married George H. Hurlburt on March 15, 1947. Together they raised 10 children and enjoyed 48 years of marriage until his death in 1995. Lill was a lifelong homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed her family, gardening, crocheting, crafts and caring for her pets. One of her greatest joys was preparing holiday meals for her extended family. She was predeceased by three children: Cheryl, Brian and Melissa Hurlburt; one grandson, Brandon Lee Gray; three brothers, Robert, Raymond and Homer Parker; and one sister, Violet Ross. Survivors include seven children: Christine Chapman and her husband, Tom, of Granville, Daniel Hurlburt and his wife, Patty, of Fort Edward, Wayne "Butch" Hurlburt and his wife, Pat, of North Granville, Leslie "Buzz" Hurlburt and his wife, Joanne, of Fort Edward, Loren Morrow and her husband, Michael, of Fort Ann, Wendy Fresn and her husband, Roy, of Swanton, Vt., and Janna Hurlburt and her husband, Stephen Hayes, of Ballston Spa. She is also survived by one sister, Betty "Pet" Aubrey; one brother, Gary "Joey" Parker; 10 grandchildren: Robert and Keighan Chapman, David Decamilla, Justin Gray, Pamela Haynes, Daniel and Matthew Hurlburt, Bobbie Infield, Kryn Morrow and Sue Potter; six great-grand-children: Brandon Michael Gray, Brian Patrick Hurlburt, Rick Infield, Kayla Mabb, Andrea Haynes and Elisabeth Jones; and many very special nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Phillips, Helen E. SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Helen E. Phillips, of Clark Street, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2005, at Wesley Health Care Center, Lawrence Street. She was 95. Born on July 30, 1909, in Saratoga Springs, she was one of eight children of the late William A. and Rose M. (Lawrence) Phillips. A lifelong city resident, she was a 1928 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School and a member of the girls' varsity basketball team. Many years ago, she had worked for the late Joseph J. Hazard Battery and Radio Co. and was later employed as a secretary/clerk in City Hall for the city's Department of Finance for more than 20 years, retiring on April 1, 1974. Miss Phillips was a life member, former treasurer and longtime financial secretary of Court McLaughlin No. 422 Catholic Daughters of the Americas, which she joined in 1937. She was baptized in St. Peter's Church in 1909 by the late Rev. Patrick H. McLaughlin, for whom the Catholic Daughters Court was named. A 33-year member and former treasurer of the Saratoga Hospital Guild, she volunteered delivering for the Saratoga Meals on Wheels program. In 1966, she began ushering at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, volunteering for 35 years. In addition, she was a volunteer for the Spa Little Theater/Home Made Theater. A former member of the Saratoga Springs Senior Citizens Center, Yaddo Gardens Association, and the Saratoga Springs Historical Society, she had worked as a guide on various house tours for the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation. A member of the Church of St. Peter, she volunteered at the parish rectory for 16 years, recording their weekly offertory envelopes. Helen was predeceased by her five brothers: Walter J., Paul J., John F., Eugene E. and William A. Phillips; and one sister, Mrs. Leo J. (Dorothy M.) Carroll. Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Mary P. Murray of Saratoga Springs; one cousin, Marie Osbonlighter of Tennessee (formerly of Albany) and was "Aunt Honey" to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, at the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, with the Rev. Robert J. LeFevre, pastor. "Hod" LAKE LUZERNE -- Horace D. "Hod" Washburn, 81, of Call Street, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at his home following a short illness, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 8, 1923, in Corinth, he was the son of the late Frank and Belle (Chittenden) Washburn. Mr. Washburn graduated from Corinth High School in 1940. He joined the United States Navy, serving during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Following his discharge, he married Clarenda E. Allison on July 23, 1944, in Corinth. The couple has resided in Lake Luzerne for many years. Mr. Washburn was employed as the manager of the Oneida Market in Corinth for a few years and then managed Rollman's Grocery Store in Hadley for several years. He then worked in the electrical department at International Paper Co. in Corinth for many years until his retirement in 1986. Mr. Washburn was a former post commander of the VFW Post 5836 of Hadley and was a member of the Horace D. Washburn American Legion Post 533 of Corinth. He also served as a Lake Luzerne town councilman for 16 years and was deputy supervisor for several years. Mr. Washburn was an avid bowler and horseshoe player, and enjoyed gardening, growing Christmas trees, and mostly enjoyed being with his family. Besides his parents, three brothers: Henry Washburn, Harry Washburn and Ira Washburn, all died before him. Survivors besides his wife of 60 years include two daughters, Carol Barcomb of Lake Luzerne and Cynthia L. Sherwood and her husband, Mark, of Lake Luzerne; three granddaughters: Lisa Berg of Glens Falls, Corin Kelley and her husband, Daniel, of Lake Luzerne, and Allison Millis and her husband, Gary II, of Lake Luzerne; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, at Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth, with the Rev. Flossie Bates officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be held in the spring at Corinth Rural Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Members of the Horace D.
