HUDSON FALLS -- Joan H. Barton, 73, of Notre Dame Street, passed away, Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital, after a short illness. Born on May 12, 1931, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Russell J. and Marion (Bombard) Palmer. Mrs. Barton was 1949 graduate of Hudson Falls High School. On Nov. 24, 1955, she married Carl J. Barton. Mrs. Barton worked for the Hudson Falls Central School System. She especially loved her grandchildren and watching them play sports. She loved dogs, especially her dog, Beau. She will be missed by her many special friends for her love and sense of humor. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Edward Palmer, and brother-in-law, Loren Barton. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Carl J. Barton of Hudson Falls; five sons, John Barton and his wife, Michelle, of Hudson Falls, Jeffrey Barton and his wife, Carol, of South Glens Falls, David Barton of Hudson Falls, Terry Barton and his wife, Cathi, of Hudson Falls and Daniel Barton of Atlanta, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Amber and Jamie Shores, Brandon Barton, Todd Barton, Jarrod Barton, Matthew Barton, Michael Barton, Nicholas Barton, Katy Barton and Tanner Barton; three great-grandchildren, Kali Shores, Brady Shores and Emma Barton; one uncle, Kenneth Bombard of South Glens Falls; one aunt, Beverly Barber of Hudson Falls; her sisters-in-law, Ruth Peterson of Potsdam, Arlene McEwen of Colton and Florida and Dale Palmer of Hudson Falls; one brother-in-law, John Barton of California; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call today, Monday, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls. A service of remembrance will be conducted at 9 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Bondzinski, Lena Mae SOUTH GLENS FALLS -- Lena Mae Bondzinski, age 83, of Sisson Road, South Glens Falls passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, into the arms of her Lord, of Alzheimer's disease, on Saturday, March 19, 2005. Born on March 20, 1922, in Barre, Vt., Lena was the daughter of the late Arthur Jefferson Grant and Ethel Grant Henkel. Lena was a 1940 graduate of Glens Falls High School. On April 13, 1941, Lena was married to her beloved husband of 63 years, Bernard James "Pete" Bondzinski of South Glens Falls in St. Alphonsus Church, Glens Falls. Besides her husband, Lena's passion was children, which was apparent in her devotion and willingness to care for nieces and nephews along with raising her seven children. In later years, Lena was always willing to take care of her many grandchildren. A communicant of St. Michael's Church in South Glens Falls, Lena took great pride and satisfaction in teaching students in the St. Michael's religious education program. Lena also participated in the Moreau Elementary School mentoring program. Lena was a charter member of the St. Michael's Rosary Altar Society and was active for many years in the Moreau Historical Society. Lena also enjoyed oil painting, gardening, reading poetry and singing. Besides her parents, Lena was predeceased by one brother, James L. Grant, and her stepfather, Louis B. Henkel. Along with her husband, survivors include six daughters, Patricia L. Frederick of Queensbury, Carol E. Kennedy and her husband, James, of South Glens Falls, Gail J. Kenyon and her husband, Ronald, of Gansevoort, Mary Lou Accardi and her husband, Peter, of Glens Falls, Connie M. Deeb and her husband, Robert, of Clearwater, Fla., Bernice J. Chakalis and her husband, Peter of Fort Edward; one son, Peter J. Bondzinski and his wife, Connie, of South Glens Falls; grandchildren, including Heather Frederick and her fianc‚, Rick Mosall, of Wynantskill, Thomas Frederick of South Glens Falls, Christina Frederick and fianc‚, Brian Talmadge, of Schuylerville, Deborah Kresgee of Scranton, Pa., James Dorsey IV and his wife, Leslie, of South Glens Falls, Lynn Mykins and her husband, Walter, of South Glens Falls, Christopher Belleville and his wife, Mary Ann, of Mission Viejo, Calif., Michael Sheehan and his wife, Tammy, of Queensbury, James Washburn and his wife, Lisa, of Hillsboro, Ore., Michelle Vaughn and her husband, Nate, of Glens Falls, Todd Hammond of New Britain, Conn., Jamie Needham and her husband, Gary, of Fort Edward, Joseph Ruby of Binghamton, Leanne Bondzinski and her fianc‚, Ryan Donelin, of Fredericksburg, Va., Andrea Bondzinski and Peter Bondzinski of South Glens Falls; and great-grandchildren, including: Ricky Mosall, Amanda Mosall, Noah Frederick, Ethan Frederick, Bethany Kresgee, Danielle Kresgee, James Dorsey V, Christian Dorsey, Stephanie Mykins, Nicholas Mykins, Camryn Sheehan, Riley Sheehan, Claire Washburn, Stacey Davis, Angie Davis, Gary Needham Jr., and Jessa Needham. Mrs. Bondzinski is also survived by two brothers, Arthur Grant of Albany and Roy D. Grant of Schenectady; one sister, Mary Siewert and her husband, Ruben, of Latham; and sisters-in-law, Margaret Bondzinski and Victoria Szostak, both of South Glens Falls. Additional survivors include several dozen nieces, nephews and cousins. Published in the Post-Star on 3/21/2005. Darrah Sr., Gilbert W. Queensbury -- Gilbert W. Darrah Sr., 78, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on July 5, 1926, in Cadyville, N.Y., he was the son of the late Gilbert and Margurite (Dutton) Darrah. Gilbert was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving in World War II and Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the B.P.O.E. 81 Glens Falls, and a member of the VFW in New Paltz. Gilbert loved to bowl, play golf, and go fishing. His parents and his sister, Hazel Decker, predeceased him. Gilbert is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ida M. (Stark) Darrah of Queensbury; his children, Gilbert Darrah Jr. and his wife, Lynne, of Plattekill, N.Y., Stephen Darrah and his wife, Blen, of Plattekill, N.Y., Christine Schwartz of Ghent, N.Y., Donna Schwenk of Tillson, N.Y., and Dennis Darrah of Crystal River, Fla. His brothers, Kenneth Darrah of Danbury, Conn., Robert Darrah, and Lawerence Darrah, both of Cadyville, N.Y.; and his two sisters, Flora Collins of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Jean Tamer of Cadyville, N.Y.; along with 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, also survive him. A funeral service will be held today, March 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Regan and Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury. Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery, Queensbury. Stanilka, 78, of Ticonderoga, passed away after a long and valiant battle with ovarian cancer, at the Inter-Lakes Health Nursing Home in Ticonderoga, on Sunday, March 20, 2005. Born in Ticonderoga on April 20, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John and Bessie (Taylor) May. Mrs. Stanilka spent her youth in Graphite at the family home with her parents and her sister, Betty (Mrs. William Stone). In August 1942, she married Benjamin E. Stanilka and raised nine children. She was a wonderful mother and wife. She enjoyed cooking and was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She enjoyed sitting in her gazebo and watching her flowers and the birds. She loved listening to music and singing along with her favorite songs. She enjoyed doing things with her family, going shopping and on trips to Maine. She will be painfully missed. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Benjamin Stanilka; three daughters, Joan Stanilka of Burlington, Vt., Mary Connors and her husband, Tim, of Ticonderoga, and Carol Duquette and her companion, Larry Clifford, of Hampton Beach, N.H.; six sons, Benjamin Stanilka Jr. of Ticonderoga, Thomas Stanilka and his wife, Becky, of Cadyville, N.Y., Timothy Stanilka of Ticonderoga, Francis Stanilka of Plattsburgh, Edward Stanilka and his wife, Catherine, of Lake George, and John Stanilka of Stewart, Fla., and Ticonderoga. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Stone, and her husband, William, of Ticonderoga, 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first grandson, Timothy Taylor Stanilka II. There will be no calling hours. A celebration of Corrinne's life will be held in the spring at the time of the interment. Troy, Robert Francis GRANVILLE -- Robert Francis Troy, age 77, of Granville, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2005, at the Orchard Nursing Centre. Robert was born on Feb. 19, 1928, in Poultney, Vt., son of the late Edward and Loretta (Parry) Troy. He was a graduate of Granville High School, where he was very successful academically and was awarded the trophy cup for four years of athletic excellence. Robert married Shirley Ballard at the Mount Carmel Church in Middle Granville on Oct. 21, 1950. Mr. Troy was a successful carpenter who built several homes on Troy Terrace in Granville, which was named after him. Prior to retirement, he worked as a New York state correction officer for 35 years. He was a devoted father and brother and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Robert is survived by three sons, Patrick Troy and his wife, Judy, of Keesville, Michael Troy of Hudson Falls, and David Troy and his wife, Marie, of Greenwich; three daughters, Kathleen Williams and her husband, Dennis, of Granville, Jeanne Rathbun and her husband, Roy, of North Granville, and Margaret Belden of Hudson Falls; one sister, Mary Ann Connelly of Boca Raton, Fla.; five grandsons, Dennis Williams Jr. and Michael Williams of Granville, and Matthew Belden, Chris Belden and Troy Belden of Hudson Falls; five granddaughters, Kim LaPlante of Granville, Krissy Swain of Granville, Kelly Williams of Granville, Lisa Panteli of Windham, N.H., and Jenn Mickel of Glens Falls; five great-grandsons, Andrew, Kyle, Alex, Logan and Jarett; four great-granddaughters, Hannah, Nicole, Natalie and Alexa; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley, who died in 1985; and three brothers, Jack Troy, Jimmy Troy, and Edward Troy. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Weber, June Audrey (Pardee) LAKE GEORGE -- June Audrey (Pardee) Weber, 79, of Prospect Street, passed gently away on March 20, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. She was born on Dec. 30, 1925, in Brooklyn. June married John Weber on Aug. 28, 1949. They lived in Glendale, Queens, where she worked for the A&P Co. for more than 31 years. June and Johnny spent many years vacationing in Lake George at the Shore Meadows Motel, owned by her close friends, Pat and Skip Saum. After Johnny died on April 24, 1981, June moved to Lake George permanently. In 1986, Robin and Bert Weber "adopted" June as "Nana" to their children, Christian, Kalyn and Makenzie. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Madeline Zeitinger of Glendale; two nephews, Joseph Zeitinger and his wife, Nadine, of Bethpage and Louis Zeitinger and his wife, Jane, of Florida; one niece, Mary Zeitinger of Bethpage; and two grandnieces, Lauren and Marissa of Bethpage. June will also be dearly missed by her many friends. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Stafford Funeral Home, Inc., 90 Montcalm St., Lake George.
