ARGYLE -- Ed H. Bailey, 41, of South Valley Road, died unexpectedly, Sunday, March 20, 2005, at his home, as a result of a tractor accident. Born on Nov. 2, 1963, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Margaret M. (Lafountain) Bailey of Louisiana and the late Edward R. Bailey. Ed attended Fort Ann High School. On Aug. 20, 1983, he married Sandra A. Gonyea, at St. Mary's/St. Paul's Church in Hudson Falls. Ed detailed cars, painted vehicles and did bodywork for Arrowhead in Queensbury. He started in hardwood floor installation, working for Ray William's Hardwood Flooring and then for Dan LaRock. Later, he and his partner, Brad Mitchell, started their own business, B & M Flooring, in February of 2000. They worked from Ticonderoga to Saratoga Springs and to the Vermont border. He loved golf, fishing, canoeing, bowling, traveling to the beach, camping, working on old vehicles and collecting old chime clocks. Ed helped his daughters show their animals at the Washington County Fair. Most of all, he loved being with his family, friends and being outdoors. Besides his mother, Margaret M. Bailey of Louisiana, he is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Sandra A. Bailey of Argyle; two daughters, Tamara Bailey and Serena Bailey, both of Argyle; two brothers, David Bailey and his wife, Lynne, of Kingsbury, and Russell Bailey and his wife, Bobbie Jo, of Granville; one sister, Penny Sue Coombs and her husband, Charlie, of Hampton; his nieces and nephews, Dillon Bailey, Kylynn and Jason Henderson, RJ and William Bailey, HeatherLyn Russell and her husband, Jim, and McKenzie Coombs; many, aunts, uncles and cousins; his in-laws, Marvin and Jeannette Gonyea of Hudson Falls; and his best friend, Tim Winchell. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Victor Owan, associate pastor of St. Mary's/St. Paul's Church, officiating. Following the funeral services on Thursday, all are invited to gather for refreshments at the Kingsbury Hose Co, Station No. 1, on Burgoyne Avenue in the town of Kingsbury. Burial will take place later in the spring, at St. Paul's Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury. His family suggests memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, P.O. Colson, 83, of West Maple Street, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital. Born on Aug. 20, 1921, in Corinth, she was the daughter of the late Fay Sr. and Mildred (Coulman) Colson. Miss Colson graduated from Corinth High School in 1938, and was a lifelong resident of Corinth. She was first employed at Cluett-Peabody Shirt Factory in Corinth for 35 years and then worked at the Saratoga County Infirmary in Ballston Spa for nine years until her retirement in 1989. She also was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Corinth for many years. According to Miss Colson's family, "Up on the hill overlooking town lived Aunt Marge. Always ready to be your friend, offer advice and give freely the love she shared for us. "She had a firm belief in God, practiced her faith and earned her way to the top of the mountain, where she is now watching over us. She has a new home now, where she will wait for us to join her someday and we will strive to do just that. "Cherished memories of Aunt Marge are what we will now hold dear in our hearts; the dinners we shared, the crocheted dollies we all have, the hundreds of books she loved to read and the hours she spent buying us gold from QVC. She was a very special lady, always ready to do whatever it took to make peace and we will hold her dear in our hearts forever. Our love for her will never die." Besides her parents, two brothers, Fay "Earl" Colson Jr. and Curtis Colson; one great-niece, Jennifer Colson, and one nephew, Bruce Colson, all died before her. Survivors include two nephews, Earl Colson and his wife, Paulette, of Porter Corners, and Steven Colson and his wife, Shirley, of Porter Corners; one niece, Donna Greave and her husband, Randy, of Indian Lake; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at the First Presbyterian Church of Corinth, 203 Palmer Ave., Corinth, with the Rev. John Aldridge, pastor, officiating. Burial will be later in the spring at Corinth Rural Cemetery. There are no calling hours scheduled. Conway, 52, formerly of Delmar, and a resident of Vero Beach, Fla., and Lake George, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born in Cincinnati, he was the beloved son of Edward and Jean Samal Conway. Michael graduated from Albany High School in 1970, and Siena College in 1974 with a B.S. in political science. He earned his master's degree from Russell Sage and was completing his doctorate degree at University at Albany. He was a senior administrative analyst for the New York State Higher Education Service Corporation until his retirement in 1991. He also worked at Albany County Department of Senior Services. He was a member of PEF and New York State Civil Service Association. He was the brother of James Conway (Terri) of Manlius, N.Y.; uncle of Spencer Conway; nephew of Mary Lindsay of Voorheesville, Margaret Huffmire of Guilderland and the late Michael Samal, Vera Foley and Olga Vivian Breiner; cousin of Henry Foley, Sharon Hurley, Karen Wise, Pamela Austin, Michelle Scanlon, Michael Samal, Ted Romanowski and Walter Budnowski; and grandson of the late W. Phil and Anna Samal. Funeral services will be held at 8:15 a.m. today at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen St., Albany, thence to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany at 9 a.m. Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Denno, Makayla Joy CLEARFIELD, Utah -- Makayla Joy Denno, our precious angel "POOH," gave her final kisses and joined her grandma and grandpa Thursday, March 17, 2005. She was born July 11, 1994, to David Denno, formerly of Glens Falls and Rebecca Bernal Denno of Clearfield, Utah. In her short life, Makayla gave so much to everyone lucky enough to have met her. She taught us what in life was truly important, love and family. She loved with everything she had, and brought laughter and joy to every day. She will always be an inspiration to us in how she accepted the challenges life had given her and always smiled back. Makayla, thank you for the gift. We will cherish it always. We would like to thank all the family, friends, doctors, nurses, teachers and caregivers that made her life the absolute best it could be. We will be forever grateful. Holman, Robert Edward STEVENSVILLE, Pa. -- Robert Edward Holman, 60, of Stevensville, Pa., and formerly of Ticonderoga, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Towanda Memorial Hospital, Towanda, Pa., following a long illness. Born on Oct. 3, 1944, in Ticonderoga, he was the son of Vera (Crossman) Holman of Whitehall, and the late Robert Holman. Robert was an avid bingo and lottery player and enjoyed working on cars. Two infant sons, Leonard Steven Holman and Christopher Holman, three sisters, Barbara Dufault, Rose Hallock and Brenda Holman, and one brother, Lonnie Holman, predeceased him. Survivors besides his mother, include three daughters: Tammy Holman of Ticonderoga, Lisa Holman and Darlene Holman of Port Henry; one son, Robert Holman of Ticonderoga; one brother, Richard Holman and his wife, Debbie, of Whitehall, two sisters, Jackie Flack and her husband, Edward, of Ticonderoga, and Linda Stark of Ticonderoga. He is also survived by several grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Michael G. Angiolillo Funeral Home, 210 Broadway, Whitehall, with the Rev. C. Don Wheeler, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Whitehall, officiating Burial will take place at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery, Ticonderoga. Born on March 24, 1918, in Saratoga, he was the son of Frederick and Emily E. (Crandall) Mabb, Sr. Fred was a truck driver for Naco Paper Co. in Fort Edward before establishing his own business, Mabb's Trucking, in Queensbury. He was a member of the Weekend Wanderers Car Club. Fred enjoyed his family, his cars and his three dogs, all named Tuffy. Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his wife, Stella Marie (Didio) Mabb, of 63 years, on Feb. 15, 1991. Survivors include his sons, Joseph Mabb of Wilton and Michael Mabb and his wife, Penny, of Queensbury; his grandchildren: Joseph Arnold Mabb of Argyle, Judy Mabb Vaughn of Queensbury, Vicky Mabb of Saratoga, Joseph Frederick Mabb of Hudson Falls and Shawn Mabb of Fort Edward; eight great-grandchildren; his brother, George W. Mabb of Glens Falls; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m., on Friday, March 25, at Sullivan-Minahan & Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury. Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., on Thursday, March 24, at the funeral home.
