Born Feb. 12, 1915, in Fort Edward, he was the son of the late Antonio and Rose (DiNucci) Aurelia. Angelo married Marjorie Wilcox, on April 13, 1941, at St. Joseph's Church, Fort Edward. Angelo worked for the former Hercules, Inc., in Queensbury for many years. He was a World War II Army Air Force Veteran serving in India and Burma as an aircraft mechanic. He enjoyed playing chess, dancing, and most of all, spending time with his family. Mr. Aurelia was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Marjorie Wilcox Aurelia. His sisters, Mary Iuliucci, Carmela Greco Fish, and Olympia Ruotolo; his brothers, Nicholas Aurelia and Louis Aurelia, and his grandson-in-law, Jak Quinton, also all predeceased him. Survivors include his daughters, Joan Schlesinger of Plainsboro, N.J., and Nancy Aurelia of Troy; his son, Raymond Aurelia and his wife, Liz (Federice), of South Glens Falls; his sister, Jennie Cronin and her husband, Paul, of Fort Edward; his brothers, Edward Aurelia and his wife, Lois, of Glens Falls and Ralph Aurelia of Fort Edward; his grandchildren, Jacquelyn Quinton of Emmaus, Pa., Jeffrey Marsh and his wife, Marisin, of Kennesaw, Ga., Laurie Cerveny and her husband, David, of Winchester, Mass., Michelle White and her husband, Jeffrey, of Bedford, N.H., Rachel Aurelia of Brighton, Mass., Daniel O'Rourke and his wife, Michele, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Maryanne O'Rourke and Angel Sardinia of Fort Edward; 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2005, at St. Michael's Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls. Burial will be later in the spring at Pottersville Cemetery, Pottersville. Davis, James Garrison NASSAU -- James Garrison Davis, 5-month-old son of Gregory and Megan Spiezio Davis of Nassau, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany. James was born a Red Sox fan on Oct. 2, 2004, in Troy, and was partially responsible for breaking "The Curse." He was predeceased by his grandparents, Gary and Carol Davis, and his great-grandparents, Robert and Claire Brockman and Louis Spiezio. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a brother, Jacob Davis of Nassau; grandparents, Linda and Richard Beattie of Salem, and George and Marilyn Spiezio of Greenwich; great- grandparents, Lorraine Davis of Wisconsin, Alice Spiezio of Greenwich, and Gertrude Haskins of Vermont; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, at the United Church in Greenwich, with the Rev. Barbara Thomas officiating. Published in the Post-Star on 3/28/2005. Doherty, William H. CORINTH -- William H. Doherty, 84, of Walnut Street, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Albany Medical Center surrounded by loving family. Born in Corinth, N.Y., on Jan. 29, 1921, he was the son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Knobbs) Doherty. Mr. Doherty graduated from Corinth High School in 1939. Bill joined the United States Navy on Aug. 10, 1942, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II aboard the Aircraft Carrier, USS Sitkoh Bay. He was honorably discharged as a decorated veteran in the summer of 1946. On Sept. 9, 1946, William Doherty married Beverly E. Rogers; the couple resided in Corinth for their entire lives. After an illustrious 36-year career on the Corinth Police Force, serving for more than 22 years as the Chief of Police, Bill Doherty retired from the police force in 1982 and continued his public service as a Republican councilman for the town of Corinth from 1988 through 2005. "Bill" was a gifted athlete, excelling at every sport involving a stick and a ball, in particular baseball, tennis and golf. During tournament play in 1965 at the Bend of the River Golf Course, "Bill" set the golf course record for 18 holes. Honest, open and heartfelt, Bill was a man who felt most comfortable around family and friends. Bill was a giving and generous man who loved his family, his home and his town. "The true measure of a man is found in his faith and his heart. It is found in the friends who stand by him, the strength he displays under pressure, and the sensitivity he unashamedly expresses. And it's found in the truth of his words, the genuineness of his life, his unselfish actions, and the values he lived by." Bill outlived his beloved wife Beverly and siblings: Joe, Ike, Duffy, George, Steve, James Doherty, Verna Walker, Madeline VanDenburg, and Sister Josephine Spindler. Survivors include two daughters, Dana Corrine Baker and her husband, Col. (Ret.) Stuart Baker of Washington D.C., and Kathi Lynn Raucci and her husband, Joseph, of Saratoga Springs; one sister, Evelyn McKenzie of Richmond, Va.; a granddaughter, Kiersten DeLisle and her husband, John, of Schuylerville, one great-grandson, Cade Stuart DeLisle of Schuylerville; myriad nieces, nephews and cousins, and his lifelong friend and nephew, Lynn Walker and wife, Judy, of Corinth. Bill will be missed by family, friends, colleagues and the many people whose lives he touched with generosity and good will. Washburn American Legion Post 533 of Corinth will conduct a service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service will be conducted at the First Presbyterian Church of Corinth, 203 Palmer Ave., at 1 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2005, with the Rev. John Aldrich, pastor, officiating. The burial service will be at the Corinth Rural Cemetery following the church service. Following the service, please join the town of Corinth in paying tribute to William Doherty at a reception at the Corinth Town Hall. Published in the Post-Star from 3/28/2005 - 3/29/2005. Joseph, Annie E. GLENS FALLS -- Annie E. Joseph, 93, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Eden Park Health Care Center. She had been a resident of Cronin High Rise for more than 20 years before moving to Eden Park. Born Feb. 20, 1912, in Baldwin, La., she was the daughter of the late Saseen and Della (Gabriel) Joseph. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Glens Falls. Annie was one of the first female ushers at St. Mary's. Annie was a retired employee of the Troy Shirt Guild. She had worked as a waitress at many well-known area restaurants. She was predeceased by three sisters, Josephine Sabo, Lilly Herbert and Yvette Cusimano; two brothers, Fred Joseph and William Joseph. Survivors include one sister, Delia Deeb of Queensbury; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Church, Glens Falls. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, South Glens Falls. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Sullivan-Minahan & Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury.
