BALLSTON SPA -- Mary T. Bogue, 79, of Crestline Drive, Ballston Spa, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Troy, on Dec. 28, 1925, she was the daughter of Bernard and Helen Breen. Mary was the administrative secretary at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Ballston Spa, for 33 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church for 58 years and served on the altar society. She enjoyed her summer home in Glens Falls, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her sister, Thelma Micare. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Edwin Bogue; her children, David Bogue of Simsbury, Conn., Brian Bogue of Ballston Spa, and Mary Beth Florance of Ballston Spa; her grandchildren, David, Kristie, Leah, Meghan, Christopher, and Sarah Anne; her great-grandchildren, Justin Michael and Lukas. Mary is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated by Father Kelly and Father Fiore. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ballston Spa. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Armer Funeral Home, Inc, 39 East High St., Ballston Spa. Dolen, Diane Mary (DePalo) SCOTIA -- Diane Mary (DePalo) Dolen, 57, of Compton Place, passed away peacefully at home, on Saturday, April 30, 2005. Born on Sept. 29, 1947, at Glens Falls Hospital, she was the daughter of Patrick and Constance (Barney) DePalo of Hudson Falls. She was employed as a supervising nurse at Prestwick Chase in Saratoga, until her illness. Diane was a loving, compassionate, and caring person who took great pride in the care of her patients. Her greatest enjoyment was watching her sons sporting events and seeing them achieve their academic goals. She was the loving mother of two sons, Christopher and Michael Dolen, both of Scotia. Beside her parents, other survivors include her five sisters: Susan DePalo of Hudson Falls, Connie Steele of Hudson Falls, Mary Joan Baggot and her husband, Richard, of Ohio, Barbara Comstock and her husband, Keith, of Hudson Falls and Patricia DePalo of California; her nieces and nephew: Amy and Allison Steele, Angela and Rachel Baggot, Kaitlin and Kenneth Comstock; and her many cousins. She is also survived by her devoted dog, Dharma. Her family would like to thank Dr. Susan Weaver and all her caregivers who provided loving care and support at home. Goodwin, Franklin George SOUTH GLENS FALLS -- Franklin George Goodwin, 66, of Hilton Drive, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2005, at the home of his sister, Lelia and Bernard Gordon, following a courageous battle with cancer. Frank was born March 2, 1939, in Saratoga Springs, the son of the late Harold and Helen (Cossey) Goodwin. He was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy of Glens Falls . Frank was U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1960 to 1963. For the past 10 years Frank worked as vice president of Human Resources for Command Security in San Mateo, Calif. He enjoyed spending summer vacations in New York with his brothers and sisters. He was a beloved brother and uncle to all of his family and had a way of making everyone laugh and smile. Sweenor Sr., Francis "Pappy" SOUTH GLENS FALLS -- Francis "Pappy" Sweenor Sr., 86, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2005, into the loving arms of his wife of 56 years Rose, a women he missed deeply since her death. Born on Aug. 28, 1918, in Saranac, N.Y., he was the son of Arthur and Mylo Collins Sweenor. Francis was a World War II veteran. He served in the invasion of Normandy and fought in the Battle of The Bulge. He received the Purple Heart, American Defense Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He was proud of his service to his country. He also served with the Civilian Conservation Corps in Fort Ann. He retired from Finch, Pruyn & Co. Inc., after 37 years. Dad was not into sports, he was not a politician or a member of any society, he was simply a hard working man who loved his family deeply and cherished each moment spent with us. Whether it would be camping in Maine, building houses, playing pinochle, or canning tomatoes, he was a man who knew that the simple things are what truly matters and was always there with a hand or a smile. He never complained or had a bad word to say about anyone. He was a great man but a better father and grandfather. We love you and will miss you. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Rose, his daughter Anne, and two brothers, Robert and Clayton. SOUTH GLENS FALLS -- James W. VanGuilder Sr., 77, formerly of Bluebird Road, passed away, Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on Aug. 23, 1927, in Whitehall, he was the son of the late Charles and Marsalene (Bushea) VanGuilder. Mr. VanGuilder served in the United States Army during World War II. His first wife, Clara Stone, died in 1992. He worked for Hercules, Inc., formerly in Queensbury, Signs of Progress, formerly in South Glens Falls, and then as a self employed electrician. Mr. VanGuilder enjoyed fishing, hunting and computers. Besides his parents and first wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Tom VanGuilder, who died in the line of duty during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Joyce VanGuilder of Argyle; four sons: James VanGuilder Jr. and his wife, Jennie, of North Carolina, Richard VanGuilder and his wife, Phyllis, of Kingsbury, Gaylord VanGuilder and his wife, Petrina, of Georgetown, Ky., and Bruce VanGuilder and his wife, Debby, of Hudson Falls; three daughters, Marilyn Barak of Kyle, Texas, Joan Crofutt and her husband, Erby, of Georgetown, Ky. and Irma VanGuilder and her fiance, Jeffery Hamblin, of Glens Falls; five stepsons, Robert Mattison, Michael Mattison, Raymond Mattison, Jeffrey Mattison and David Mattison; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles VanGuilder and his wife, Debbie, of Queensbury, Harry VanGuilder and his wife, Dorothy, of Glens Falls and Alfred VanGuilder and his wife, Rita ,of South Glens Falls; three sisters, Lucy Stark of Corinth, Mildred Munchback and her husband, Richard, of Galway, and Elizabeth Cooper and her husband, Les, of Corinth; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
