GRANVILLE -- Harry P. Bartholomew, age 64 years, of Granville, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Harry was born in Granville, on Jan. 9, 1941, he was the son of the late Donald Bartholomew and Gladys (Palmer) Matteson. He served his country honorably for the United States Army. Harry was employed for 15 years as a wood worker for Telescope Casual Furniture in Granville. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Harry is survived by his mother, Gladys Matteson of Granville; his stepfather, Hugh Matteson of Granville; six sisters, Margaret Dunbar of North Pawlet, Vt., Beverly Dunbar of Proctor, Vt., Joanne Duffany of Manchester, Vt., Alice Farnsworth of Cambridge, Ann Bartholomew of Rutland, Vt., and Mary Fenton of Hubberton, Vt.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Richard Matteson and Almon Bartholomew. Relatives and friends may call from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, at Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home, in Poultney, Vt. A funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Ashley Mead will officiate. Burial will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery in Whitehall. Hudson Falls -- Lynn E. Bennett, 89, of River Street, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Eden Park Health Care Center. He was born on May 14, 1916, in Sturgeon Falls, Province of Ontario, Canada, the son of Peter and Estelle (Viele) Bennett. Lynn retired from the Sandy Hill Corporation in Hudson Falls in 1981 after 34 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on cars. Lynn was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Ethel Bourgault, and Hazel Measeck; an infant brother; two children, an infant daughter, Estelle; and a son, Peter; a grandson, Shawn; and two nieces, Patricia Bourgault Reeves, and Judy Bourgault Bradley. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Anna (Smith) Maziejka Bennett; two daughters, Marsha Schul and her husband, Elden "Pete", of Sanborn, N.Y. and Phyllis Townsend of Lockport, N.Y.; a son, Gerald Lynn Bennett and his wife, Kathy, of Lockport, N.Y.; three stepchildren, Stanley Maziejka and his wife, Kathryn, of Fort Edward, Edward Maziejka and his wife, Evelyn, of Glens Falls, and Sally Vishneowski and her husband, Alex, of South Glens Falls; a nephew, David Bourgault of Hudson Falls; and a cousin, Jane Carpenter of Fort Edward. He also leaves six grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 31 stepgreat- grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Clark, 93, of Corfu, N.Y., formerly of Corinth, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Crossroads House, Batavia, N.Y. Mrs. Clark was born Aug. 25, 1911, in South Schroon Lake, N.Y., a daughter of the late George and Mabel Betts Warren. She taught school in the 1930s. She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church and the women's organization in Corinth. She was also a member of the Weavers Guild in Saratoga, N.Y. Mrs. Clark was the wife of the late Kenneth Clark and a brother Eugene Warren also predeceased her. She is survived by two children, Warren (Joan) Clark of Corfu and Eileen (Richard) D'Amico of Kendall; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Fish of South Schroon Lake. Griffin, 77, of Blue Goose Road, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2005, following a long illness at the home of her daughter, Sandi Mullineaux of Scotia. Born on Feb. 14, 1928, in Whitehall, she was the daughter of Howard Terry and Madeline (Lindsay) Terry. Mrs. Griffin was an avid bingo player and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending hours around the house and especially enjoyed caring for her flower gardens. She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church of Whitehall and was presently a member of the Greenmount Cemetery Association. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Melvin G. Griffin, who died in 2002; and one brother, Gerald "Ike" Terry, who died in 1980. Survivors include two daughters, Sandi Mullineaux and her husband, David, of Scotia, and Constance Joyce Lipka of Hudson Falls; and one son, Scott Melvin Griffin and his wife, Kimberly Lynn, of Whitehall; eight grandchildren: Sheri Dockum and her husband,Charles III, of Corinth, Richard Pelchat of Scotia, Amanda Kuon and her husband, Kevin, of Scotia, David Mullineaux Jr. of Scotia, Samantha Sandra Gallagher and her friend, Robbie Schwab, of Hudson Falls, Stephanie Rose Gallagher of Hudson Falls, Dillon James Griffin and Ashley Elizabeth Griffin of Whitehall; three great-grandchildren: one sister, Constance Conlon of Queensbury; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at Whitehall United Methodist Church, with the Rev. C. Don Wheeler, pastor, officiating. Stevens, Eva M. Moreau -- Eva M. Stevens, of Gansevoort Road, died Thursday, May 19, 2005, at the Stanton Heath Care Centre, Queensbury. Born April 17, 1914, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late William and Grace (Chapman) Dorvee. Eva attended Glens Falls High School. Eva Dorvee and Isaac Stevens were married Feb. 10, 1932, and were married for 51 years until his death in 1983. She was a member of the Gospel Light House Church for many years. Eva was a homemaker, and enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and bird watching, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, she was also predeceased by her four brothers, Russell Dorvee, Frank Dorvee, Hollis Dorvee, and Richard Dorvee, who died in infancy. Survivors include, her daughter, Marie Palmer and her husband, Floyd, of Atkinson, N.H.; her son, Philip Stevens and his wife, Catherine, of Moreau; three grandchildren, Laurie Stevens of Gansevoort Road, Mark Palmer of N.H., and Matthew Palmer and his wife, Valerie, of Massachusetts; her sister, Jessie Holmquist and her husband, Glenn, of South Glens Falls, her sister-in-law, Priscilla Dorvee of South Glens Falls, a longtime family friend, Rose Harrington of Fort Edward; her sister-in-law, Sylvia Barnes of Glens Falls; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no calling hours at the request of the family. Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. Victory Mills -- Mildred A. Villa, 86, a resident of Pine Street, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at her home after a long illness. Born Jan. 6, 1919, in Victory Mills, she was the daughter of the late William and Emma Young Cormie. Mrs. Villa had been a bus driver for the Schuylerville Central Schools for many years. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Barney Villa; two sisters, Beulah Perry, and Thelma Skoda; and one brother, Joseph Cormie. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Joan Squires; several nieces and nephews including Penny Perry who was her caregiver for many years. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2005, in Notre Dame Cemetery, Schuylerville. There will be no calling hours.
