Born May 11, 1919, in Bridgeport, Conn., she was the daughter of Edward Joseph and Adelaide (Limbacher) Sullivan. Virginia spent her early years in Stratford Conn., moving to Richmond Hill, Queens, with her family during the great depression. She graduated from P.S. 142 in 1935 and John Adams High School in 1938, often mentioning her celebrity fellow alumni, Jack Lord. Virginia married her soulmate of 54 years, John G. Anderson on Dec. 7, 1941, and put her marriage on hold while John served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp. Virginia settled in Huntington Station, Long Island. She was a corsetiere for Martin's Department Store for many years and an active member of the Rosary Altar Society at St. Hugh's and Our Lady of the Annunciation Roman Catholic Church. Retiring to Queensbury in 1986, Virginia was an avid reader, who would transport herself to distant places and states of mind courtesy of Emily Dickinson, Willa Cather, and many others. Virginia was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1996. Survivors include her five children: Arlene Strickland and her husband, William, of North Conway, N. H., Susan Earley and her husband, Michael, of Glens Falls, John G. Anderson Jr. and his wife, Georgene, of Queensbury, Glenn J. Anderson and his wife, Donna, of Hartwick, N.Y., Virginia Mann and her husband, J. Michael, of Chittenango, N.Y. Virginia is also survived by her 15 grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren, Susan, Stacie, Erik, Stacey, Kevin, Brian, Christine, Erin, Lauren, Jason, T.J., Vanessa, Ashley, Chelsea, Dylan, Jillian, Jarrod, Emma, Annalise, Noah, Audrey, Nathan, Chloe, and Michael. Published in the Post-Star on 5/21/2005. Boutin, Loretta GRANVILLE -- Loretta Boutin, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2005, at her home in Granville. Loretta was born on July 12, 1926, in North Bennington, Vt., the daughter of Harry and Blanche (Beagle) Cordes. She graduated from the Pratt Institute in New York City as a dressmaker. One of her proudest accomplishments in dressmaking was the creation of a wedding dress from a parachute. Loretta lived her life for her children and grandchildren. She served as both a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader. Loretta's three sons and one grandson all attained Eagle Scout distinction, and her daughters, Cindy and Shirley, both attained Girl Scout awards. She enjoyed baking, wedding cakes in particular, gardening, crocheting and quilt making. Loretta was a bingoholic. Loretta was predeceased by her former husband, Alfred Boutin, in 1997; and her daughter, Cynthia Parker, in 1996 Survivors are three sons: Darrell Boutin and his fiancee, Helena Pooler, of Clifton, Maine, Brian Boutin and his wife, Eva, of Middle Granville, and Jerry Boutin and his wife, Lynn, of Hackettstown, N.J.; one daughter, Shirley Dorman and her fiance, Mark Kunen; a son-in-law, George "Butch" Parker; and a former daughter-in-law, Denise Boutin of Maine; 13 grandchildren: Nicholas and Robin Parker, both of North Granville, Tina and Robert Boutin of Maine, Jennifer, Stephanie and Darrell Boutin of Middle Granville, Amanda and Brandon Boutin of New Jersey, and Danielle and Jessica Casey, and Brittney Dorman and Ryan Kunen, all of Granville; and one great-granddaughter, Alexus Valeriani. Brayton, Judith Irene HUDSON FALLS -- Judith Irene Brayton, 56, of River Street, passed into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at her home. Born on Nov. 21, 1949, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Kathryn Isabelle (Smith) Brayton. Judith attended San Diego State Community College before moving back to this area. She was employed at C.R. Bard in Queensbury for many years. Judith enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, genealogy, sewing and being with her cats. Her greatest love was spending time with her son and her grandchildren. Besides her parents, two infant daughters, predeceased her. Survivors include her son, Rory Marr of Glens Falls; her three grandchildren: Dylan Marr and Devin Marr of Queensbury and Amber Marr of Philmont, N.Y.; her three sisters: Gail Corlew and her husband, Bill, of Lake Luzerne, Janice Phillips and her husband, Arthur, of Niagara Falls, and Kathryn Joy Greenwood of Gansevoort; two brothers, Ralph Brayton and his wife, Carol, and David Brayton, all of Queensbury; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. WHITEHALL -- Evelyn M. Griffin, 77, of Blue Goose Road, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2005, following a long illness at the home of her daughter, Sandi Mullineaux of Scotia. Born on Feb. 14, 1928, in Whitehall, she was the daughter of Howard Terry and Madeline (Lindsay) Terry. Mrs. Griffin was an avid bingo player and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending hours around the house and especially enjoyed caring for her flower gardens. She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church of Whitehall and was presently a member of the Greenmount Cemetery Association. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Melvin G. Griffin, who died in 2002; and one brother, Gerald "Ike" Terry, who died in 1980. Survivors include two daughters, Sandi Mullineaux and her husband, David, of Scotia, and Constance Joyce Lipka of Hudson Falls; and one son, Scott Melvin Griffin and his wife, Kimberly Lynn, of Whitehall; eight grandchildren: Sheri Dockum and her husband,Charles III, of Corinth, Richard Pelchat of Scotia, Amanda Kuon and her husband, Kevin, of Scotia, David Mullineaux Jr. of Scotia, Samantha Sandra Gallagher and her friend, Robbie Schwab, of Hudson Falls, Stephanie Rose Gallagher of Hudson Falls, Dillon James Griffin and Ashley Elizabeth Griffin of Whitehall; three great-grandchildren: one sister, Constance Conlon of Queensbury; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mastrianni, Theresa MECHANICVILLE -- Theresa Mastrianni, 104, died Thursday, May 19, 2005, at her Hulin Street home, following a brief illness. Born in West Rutland, Vt. on July 30, 1900, she was the daughter of the late Benedict and Angelina Deniro Izzo. Mrs. Mastrianni moved to Mechanicville in 1920, when she married her late husband, Jerome Mastrianni, who died in 1973. She was also predeceased by her sons, Dr. Saverio Mastrianni, M.D., and Pharmacist Francis Mastrianni; her teenage grandson, Saverio Mastrianni Jr.; and sisters, Adeline DeMarco and Rose Perretta. She was a homemaker, a member of Assumption-St. Paul Church of Mechainicville, and a very proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of a large loving and close family. Survivors include her sons, Dr. Benedict Mastrianni, M.D. and his wife, Marge Grinko, of Clifton Park, and Jerome Mastrianni and his wife, Jean, of Mechanicville; her daughter, Michelina Mastrianni of Mechanicville; daughters-in-law, Donna Mastrianni of Niskayuna and Joan Doyle of Albany; along with 25 cherished grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; family friends and Hulin Street neighbors. "Bud" Miner, 82, of East River Drive, died Thursday, May 19, 2005, at Stanton Nursing Centre in Queensbury following a brief illness. Born on Jan. 13, 1923, in Corinth, he was the son of the late Charles and Florence (Randall) Miner. Mr. Miner joined the United States Army, serving during World War II. He had resided for 38 years with his longtime companion, Rachel Sherman of Lake Luzerne. Mr. Miner worked as a logger and at Kilmers Sawmill and several other sawmills over the years. He loved horses, going for car rides in the country, and mostly enjoyed being with his family. Besides his parents, several brothers and sisters died before him. Survivors besides his longtime companion, Rachel Sherman, of Lake Luzerne include, eight stepchildren: Beverly Morris of Greenfield, Joyce Sherman of Lake Luzerne, Clyde Sherman of Corinth, Albert Sherman of Vermont, Catherine Bennett of Lake Luzerne, John Sherman of Vermont, Clarence Sherman of Corinth, and Rose Ball of North Creek; six children: Anna Lafebvre of Queensbury, Betty Coulman of Queensbury, Cleon C. Miner Jr. of Corinth, Patricia Youngf of Brant Lake, and Flora Miner and Mary Jane Miner of Glens Falls; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harry Miner of Lake Luzerne and James and Bill Miner of California; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Published in the Post-Star on 5/21/2005. Rumsey, Wilma Joan GREERS FERRY, Ark. -- Wilma Joan Rumsey, age 70, of Greers Ferry, Ark., passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 11, 2005. Born in Glens Falls, on Aug. 8, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Basil and Elizabeth (Carpenter) Durkee. A former resident of Glens Falls, Mrs. Rumsey had lived in Greers Ferry, Ark. for two years. She was a graduate of Keuka College School of Nursing. Mrs. Rumsey had served as a surgical nurse and a public health nurse, as well as a nursing instructor for Adirondack Community College. Mrs. Rumsey enjoyed quilting and was a member of Wings Falls Quilters Guild. She was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Heber Springs. Survivors include her husband, Donald Rumsey of Greers Ferry, Ark.; one son, David Rumsey of Greers Ferry, Ark.; one daughter, Joanne Hopper of Middle Grove, N.Y.; and three grandchildren, Paul, Hannah, and Austin. Mrs. Rumsey is also survived by other relatives and her many friends. A memorial service for Mrs. Rumsey was held Sunday, May 15. Worthington, 95, died Friday, May 20, 2005, at the residence of his daughter, Lucinda Skelly, in Hebron after a long illness. He was born April 7, 1910, in Pittstown, the son of the late Ralph E. and Nellie (Brenenstuhl) Worthington. Harold was a longtime dairy farmer, and had worked for the highway departments of the town of Hebron and Washington County. He was a member of the West Hebron United Methodist Church, the Hebron Historical Society, the Hebron Valley Grange, the Salem Coon and Cat Club, the Salem Fish and Game Club, the Ten Point Fish and Game Club, the Eagles of Hoosick Falls, a founding member of the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Washington County Democratic Committee and former chairman of the Hebron Democratic Committee. He also was a councilman for the town of Hebron for many years. Harold enjoyed hunting, raising dogs, playing cards, storytelling, reading, Native American history and spending time with his family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Mabel Mae Worthington, who died in 1997; his sisters, Barbara and Marion Worthington, Marcia Underhill and Julia Tilleson and his brother, Robert Worthington. Survivors include his daughter, Lucinda Skelly and her husband, Ray, of Hebron; his son, Arthur Worthington and his wife, Dorothy, of West Hebron; his grandchildren: Cheryl Kilmartin, Yolanda Szabatura, Sheila Crimi, Raymond and Michael Skelly, Doreen Meany, Jeff, Christopher and Douglas Worthington and Angela Corbett; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 23, at the West Hebron United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Debbie Earthrowl, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Hoosick Cemetery.
