LAKE GEORGE -- Shelly L. Bickford, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Indian River Nursing Home and Health Related Facility in Granville. Shelly was born on Sept. 28, 1952, in Glens Falls, the daughter of Wayne and Beatrice (Way) Burnham Sr. Shelly graduated from Argyle Central School and Bristol College of Nursing in Bristol, Tenn. She was active in the Faith Chapel Assembly of God in Whitehall. Shelly served as a Missionette and a reader and was active with the youth of the church. She was also an active member of the Living Waters Church of God in Glens Falls, being involved in the prayer line. She was helping her husband build the North County Glory Bound Church. Her greatest joy was her two grandchildren. Shelly was predeceased by her mother. In addition to her father, survivors include her husband of 29 years, Joseph L. Bickford of Lake George; her two daughters, Jaime Lynn Bickford of Stamford, Conn., and Janet Edey and her husband, Trevor, of Troy; three sisters, Kathy Barkley, Elaine Smith, and Tracy Burnham; four brothers, Wayne N. Burnham Jr., Donald Burnham, Larry Burnham and Scott Burnham; two grandchildren, Alexis and Isaiah Edey; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27, at 2 p.m. at the Fruitful Vine Christian Church, 49 Broadway, Fort Edward, with the Bishop Dennis C. Donati officiating. SOUTH GLENS FALLS -- Paul A. Crimmins, 81, of Douglas Avenue, passed away Friday, May 20, 2005, at Maplewood Manor, Ballston Spa. Born on Feb. 13, 1924, in Glens Falls, he was the son of John W. and Helen M. (Allen) Crimmins. Paul attended St. Mary's Academy and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Glens Falls. He worked for New York State Conservation Department at Hearthstone Camp Ground, Lake George, for many years, retiring in 1982. Paul married Harriet L. Nolan on Nov. 23, 1972, in South Glens Falls. Besides his parents, two brothers, William and John, and two sisters, Betty Blocksidge and Teresa Rivers, also predeceased him. Survivors besides his wife of 33 years, include his sister, Mary McCarthy and her husband, Robert, of Glens Falls; four stepchildren, Carole Hawkins and her husband, Larry, of Clearwater, Fla., Patrick Nolan and his companion, Jan Whitney, of Fort Ann, Peggie Morris and her husband, Richard, of Wilton, and Nancy Shea and her husband, Greg, of Greenfield Center; his sister-in-law, Dorothy Crimmins of Glens Falls; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews and cousins. Published in the Post-Star on 5/23/2005. Firth, Pamela G. HUDSON FALLS -- Pamela G. Firth of Mechanic Street passed away on Saturday, May 21, at her home. Pamela G. Firth was born on Dec. 3, 1946, in Miami, Fla., and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Esther (Crandall) Gray. She attended school in the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Rochester, N.Y., areas, and graduated from Pittsford High School in Pittsford, N.Y., in 1964. Pam continued her education at the State University of New York College at Fredonia, graduating in 1968 with a B.S. in music education. In 1984, she earned a masters degree in lLiberal studies from the College of Saint Rose in Albany. Pam's professional career began with teaching positions in the Batavia City Schools and Elba Central School in western New York. In 1972, she accepted a position at Hartford Central School. At the time of her death, Pam was a professor of music at Adirondack Community College in Queensbury, where she had taught for 30 years. While at ACC, Pam revived the band program, expanded the course offerings in music, instituted a series of noontime concerts and created a degree program in music. Pam was active as a musician throughout her life. She performed with the Batavia City Band, the Genesee Symphony Orchestra, the Glens Falls City Band, the Spa City Band, the Northeast Symphonic Band and the Capital Region Wind Ensemble. She also performed in numerous solo recitals and pit orchestras for area musical shows. For 25 years, Pam was the principal clarinetist of the Glens Falls Symphony Orchestra. Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Ted Firth of Hudson Falls, and their two sons, Tedd Firth and his wife, Kerry, of Baldwin, N.Y., and Patrick Firth of Clifton, N.J. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 26, at 7 p.m. at the Adirondack Community College auditorium on Bay Road, Queensbury. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to the Adirondack Community College Foundation, Bay Road, Queensbury, NY 12804. A fund will be established in Pam's name to support the Music at Midday concert series that she founded. Lewsey, 23, died unexpectedly Friday, May 20, 2005, from injuries received in an accident in the town of Easton. Born Aug. 28, 1981, in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of Kevin Lewsey of Greenwich and Penny Mann Lewsey of Easton. Silas was a 2000 graduate of Greenwich Central School and Shear Ego School of Barbering in Rochester. He was also a graduate of the Motorcycle Mechanic Institute in Orlando, Fla. He was employed by Rock Maple Snowmobile Racing as a mechanic for the Chuck Minasalli Racing Team in New Hampshire. His interests included dirt bike riding, skiing, baseball, deer hunting, a love for the rural lifestyle and spending time with his family and friends. He was predeceased by grandparents, Ralph and Helen Harwood Lewsey. Survivors in addition to his parents include one brother, Curtis Lewsey of Greenwich; two sisters, Andrea Lewsey and Deana Lewsey, both of Greenwich; grandparents, Roland Mann of Greenwich and Gerry Mann of Saratoga Springs; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Greenwich, with the Rev. Richard Gratz officiating. Shepard, Francis Richard "Frank" QUEENSBURY -- Francis "Frank" Richard Shepard, 82, of 5 Crownwood Lane, Queensbury, died Sunday, May 22, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born April 16, 1923, he was the son of the late Fred and Catherine Shepard of Glens Falls. Mr. Shepard served in the Army during World War II from 1942-1945. He graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1942, and completed certification in business administration from LaSalle University Institute. Frank married Phyllis Gilson of Glens Falls on Oct 2, 1948. Sandy Hill Corporation of Hudson Falls employed Mr. Shepard for 40 years. He retired in 1986. He served as supervisor of production planning and control. Frank was very active with local Boy Scouting, serving Troop 7 for more than 12 years, after having attained the rank of Eagle Scout himself. He enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing and traveling with family and friends. He was a member of American Legion Post 553, the Association of Technical Pulp and Paper Institute, and member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Shepard of Queensbury; his twin brother, Charles, of Glens Falls, his brother, William, of Fort Ann; sisters, Betty Taylor and Regina Chase, of Hudson Falls; four children: daughters, Mary Perelli of South Windsor, Conn., Jane Dempsey of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Patricia Mark of Jacksonville, N.C.; a son, Richard Shepard, of Glens Falls; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two more on the way. Regan and Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury, will be the site of viewing for Frank on Tuesday, May 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass celebrating Frank's life will be conducted at Our Lady of the Annunciation on Wednesday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the American Lung Association. Smith, Zachary Michael JOHNSBURG -- Zachary Michael Smith, another tiny angel in heaven, passed away at birth, Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Zachary was the infant son of Ashley Marie Conlon and Vernon H. Smith Jr. of Garnet Lake Road. In addition to his parents, other survivors include his maternal grandmother, Denise Conlon and stepgrandfather, Fred Granger of Johnsburg; his maternal grandfather, William Conlon of Bakers Mills; his paternal grandfather, Vernon H. Smith Sr. of Minerva; maternal great-grandmother, Norma West of North Creek; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. His paternal grandmother, Florence L. Smith, predeceased him. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Bates Cemetery, Johnsburg, with the Rev. Ron Burdett officiating. There are no calling hours scheduled. Zuboff, Gregory COLONIE -- Gregory Zuboff, 59, of Colonie, passed away Friday, May 20, 2005, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Alti, Russia, and came to the United States as a young man. Gregory had resided in Warrensburg for many years before moving to the Schenectady area in 1989. He was a self employed mason and construction contractor. Greg was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his beloved companion, Susan F. DeFrees and her daughters, Jackie and Amy. He is the brother of Nicoli Zuboff of Warrensburg. He will be dearly missed by his cherished feline friend, Magilla.
