She was the widow of Walter C. Austin Sr., who died in 1986. Born Nov. 22, 1929, in Rutland, Vt., she was the daughter of Elmer W. Peer and Violet I. Labarge Peer Forest. For the first 13 years of her life, Betty Jane was raised by her foster father, Allie Bull in North Ferrisburg, Vt. She then went to live with her birth family in Watervliet. She received her education in North Ferrisburg, Bennington and Troy. Betty Jane worked in the admitting office at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge from 1964 until 1977. She then worked in the offices of Oak Industries in Hoosick Falls until she retired in 1994. She loved flowers and had beautiful gardens. She also enjoyed doing crafts. One of her dolls won a blue ribbon at the 2005 Washington County Fair. A grandson, Ryan G. Austin; a brother, Bernard Peer; a sister, Virginia Toomey; a half brother, Richard Forest and a half sister, Frances Forest, died before her. Survivors include a son and his wife, Gregory S. and Brenda R. Austin of Center, White Creek; three granddaughters, Ashley P., Megan El and Victoria L. Austin; a stepson, Walter C. Austin Jr. of Norwich, Conn; a stepdaughter, Lynn Minor of Loveland, Colo.; two stepgranddaughters, Sharon Jarter and Linda Lia; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Erica and Andrew Jarter and Jonathan Daly; a sister, Evelyn Callahan of Keene, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m. at Woodlands Cemetery, Cambridge. Pastor Clyde Fobes of Center White Creek Church will officiate. Bouton, Marian Dow Liebig NORTH HEBRON -- Marian Dow Liebig Bouton, 89, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at Indian River Health & Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born Jan. 24, 1916, in Saranac, Clinton County, N.Y., she was the daughter of Harry and Marjorie (Allen) Dow. She graduated from Cadyville High School in 1931 and from Plattsburgh State Normal in 1935. She taught school for a number of years. Marian married Truman T. Liebig Sr. in 1938. Mr. Liebig died in 1977. She worked for the Department of Social Services for 15 years as a senior caseworker. In 1984, she married Clifford C. Bouton. Mr. Bouton died in 1998. Mrs. Bouton was active in the South Granville Church, Mettowee Valley Senior Citizens, as well as a member of the Slate Valley Garden Club. She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Survivors include one son, Truman Liebig Jr. of North Hebron; three daughters, Marilyn Nolan of Cambridge, Laurene Liebig of Johnstown and Sharon Gordon of North Hebron; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; she had three stepchildren, Shirley Thompkins, Robert Bouton, and Alice Winters; and a number of nieces and nephews, stepgranchildren and stepgreatgranchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, with the Rev. Robert Flower officiating. No calling hours will be scheduled. "Bus" Fish, 94, of Argyle, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at Pleasant Valley Infirmary in Argyle, where he had been a resident since May 2005. Born on Dec. 5, 1910, in Fort Edward, he was the son of the late John and Bertha (Hill) Fish. He married Geraldine Colvin Gates on April 27, 1937, in Fort Edward. His wife died May 12, 2005, after 68 years of marriage. Bus worked at Imperial Wallpaper and Color and later at Hercules, Inc., as an electrician for more than 30 years. After retirement, he worked in the area helping friends and neighbors with electrical needs. He always gave generously of his time and abilities. He was an active member of his church at Pine Knolls Alliance in South Glens Falls and was formerly active for many years at the Village Baptist Church in Fort Edward. Besides his parents and his wife, he is predeceased by all of his siblings: Raymond, Harry, John, Clifford, Albert, Earl, Ralph and Robert Fish. Also, Florence Johnson and Myrtle Berkowitz and several half brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children, Daryle Fish and his wife, Ruth, of South Glens Falls, a daughter, Patricia Abrahamson and her husband, Richard, of Cossayuna and a son, Gordon Fish and his friend, Sharon Corlew, of Fort Edward; nine grandchildren: Ann Greene and her husband, Pat, Daryle Fish and his wife, Caryl, Scott Fish and his wife, Katie, Diane Sprague and her husband, Scott, Pam Bice and her husband, Sean, Todd Abrahamson and his wife, Kathy, Dan Abrahamson and his wife, Stephanie, Beth Payne and her husband, John, and Charlene Bell and her husband, Ben; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours. Gander, age 80, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at Wesley Health Care Center, Saratoga Springs. Born on July 27, 1925, in Detroit, Mich., he was the son of the late Herbert and Margaret Dunn Gander. William worked for Monroe Business Machine Co. in New York City for 20 years. He retired from Robinson & Smith Co. in Gloversville. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946. William always said "Abondza," and will be greatly missed. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Albert Gander, and his sister, Margaret Pecko. Born Oct. 5, 1932, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Ella Marion Lincoln and Edgar D. DeVol. She was a graduate of Glens Falls High School and Colby College, Waterville, Maine, with a B.A. in music and physics. After her marriage to the late Everett F. Gross, she lived on Long Island, where she was active in many volunteer activities including the 4-H and the Farmingdale Methodist Church. In 1988, she moved to Yarmouth, Maine. Faith is survived by three daughters: Cynthia O'Donnell of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Catherine Forrest of Framingham, Mass., and Deborah Zarinfar of Yarmouth, Maine; seven grandchildren: Martin, Robert and Jennifer O'Donnell, Erin Forrest, David and Ruth Zarinfar, and Charles Griswold III; two sisters, Nancy DeVol of Hudson Falls and Ruth DeVol of Albany; and one brother, William T. DeVol of Springfield, Mo. Born on May 28, 1920, in Hadley, he was the son of the late Sanford and Maryetta (Redmond) Holland. William served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945 in the Mediterranean. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, he was employed at International Paper Company in Corinth as a machinist. William retired in 1981 after 42 years of service at the mill, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He married Hazel Diehl on Jan. 1, 1942, at the Baptist parsonage in Saratoga Springs. He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, Howard Holland; one sister, Jeanette Weiss and a son-in-law, Frank Ferdon. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Hazel Holland; two sons, William Holland and his wife, Cathy, of Corinth, Brian Holland and his wife, Gail, of Corinth; one daughter, Donna Ferdon of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Mildred Niles of Queensbury, Hallanies Aufiero of Pattersonville; five grandchildren, Michael Ferdon, Kenneth Ferdon and his wife, Joni, Bill Holland Jr., Donna Hersey and her husband, Eric, Brian J. Born July 4, 1925, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marion (Griffin) Harrington. Laura was predeceased by not only her parents but also her husband of 57 years, John C. Howard, their son, David D. Howard, sisters, Ruth Fletcher, Nina Bourgault, and brothers, Daniel Harrington, and Chuck Harrington. She was the devoted mother of daughter Nancy Polunci and her husband, Donald, of Queensbury; sons, Jack H. Howard and his wife, Lori, of Arlington, Mass., and Gary E. Howard and his wife, Michelle, of Queensbury. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Emma Howard of Arlington, Mass., and Shelly Marcantonio of Glens Falls. CLARKS MILLS -- William M. Nacy, 58, a resident of county Route 113, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2005, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born Sept. 14, 1947, in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of Mildred (Hogan) Nacy of Clarks Mills and the late Elzie J. Nacy. Mr. Nacy was a Marine Corps. veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He had been a technician for NBC in New York City for many years. He was a member of the Goat Brothers, Old Saratoga and his hobbies included motorcycles and history. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Linda Knox of Clarks Mills and Patty Cochrane of Monson, Mass.; his cousin, Kevin McGrath of Clarks Mills; several nieces and nephews; and all his brothers at Goat Brothers, Old Saratoga. Survivors include her daughter, Darleen Dickinson of South Glens Falls; three granddaughters, Alana J. Renaud, 43, formally of Queensbury, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, in an automobile accident. Mark was born March 27, 1962, in Queensbury, a son of Peter J. and Jacqueline LaFond Renaud. He was a self-employed drywall installer and a member of the Harrison County Ohio Boat Club. Mark enjoyed fishing, boating, playing horseshoes and singing at home with his wife and family. He enjoyed the time he spent with his children and their friends around the campfire and he supported all his family's interests. He will be sadly missed by all who came to know him. Mark leaves his wife, the former Debbie A. White, whom he married July 29, 1982; a daughter, Jennifer R. Renaud, and a son, Joseph M. Renaud, both at home; his mother of Stafford, Va; his grandmother, Mary Renaud of Arizona; his mother-in-law, Rose Mary White of Boardman, Ohio; two brothers, Thomas Renaud of Fredericksburg, Va., and John Renaud of Front Royal, Va.; two sisters, Gina Starner and Debbie Renaud-Li, both of Stafford; nine brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends, including his best friend, Eddie Misurda. Born on April 24, 1930, in Albany, she was the daughter of Frank and Florence (Clark) Hardick. June was a graduate of South Glens Falls High School. She married Willard N. Tubbs, Jr., on April 24, 1959, in Sydney, N.Y. June was employed as a bus driver for the Hadley Luzerne Central School system for many years prior to her retirement in the mid 1980s. She loved horses and enjoyed arts and crafts, especially knitting and crocheting. Survivors besides her husband of 46 years include one daughter, Sandra Pietrzak and her husband, Bernie, of Poultney, Vt.; three sons: Daniel McMurry and his wife, Debbie, of Poultney, Vt., Thomas McMurry of Altoona, Fla., Terry Tubbs of Ocala, Fla.; two sisters, Susan Brennan and her husband, Robert, of Argyle, and Nancy Hardick of Argyle; one brother, Frank Hardick and his wife, Jean, of Queensbury; her grandchildren: Tonya McLaughlin and her husband, Mike, Dan McMurry and his wife, Lisa, Tracy Smith, Tina McMurry, as well as several other grandchildren; her great- granddaughter, Kayla McMurry, as well as several other great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
