GREENWICH - Dorothie V. Erbe, 86, a former resident of Greenwich, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at Dansforth Home in Hoosick Falls. Born April 8, 1919, in New York City, she was the daughter of Edward and Anna Carley Connell. She married Donald Lackman Erbe on June 28, 1936. Mrs. Erbe had been employed as a supervisor at the Brunswick Medical Supplies Co. in Argyle. Her enjoyments were gardening, bird watching, knitting, and crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald Erbe, a daughter, Carry Karlson, a son, Donald Erbe, a granddaughter, Kathleen Karlson, a great-granddaughter, Isabel Erbe, and two sisters, Anna Goldman and Catherine Blake. Survivors include a son, Arthur Erbe and his wife, Sharon, of Greenwich; two daughters, Dorothie Flanagan and her husband, George, of Smithtown, and Nancy Petroni of Salem; a sister, Jeanne Mayer of Medfield, Mass.; eight grandchildren: Brenda Bouchard, Carol Brandt, Eric Karlson, Andy Erbe, Arthur Flanagan, Eileen Spiezio, Christine Winslow, and Art Erbe; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Farry, 64, of Bronk Drive, Queensbury, passed away Friday afternoon, Oct. 7, 2005, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born Aug. 4, 1941, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Florence M. (Marra) Penders. Following graduation from St. Mary's Academy, Class of 1959, Pat furthered her education at Albany School of Practical Nursing, graduating in 1962, and later continued her education at Adirondack Community College, graduating in 1980 with an associate degree in Applied Science as a professional registered nurse. Pat was a dedicated employee both at Glens Falls Hospital, mainly working in the Intensive Care Unit, and later at her husband's private practice in South Glens Falls for many years. Following retirement from nursing, she continued to work several years for State Senator Betty Little in her Glens Falls office. Pat was a longtime active member and officer of the Glens Falls Auxiliary Elks Lodge No. 81 of Queensbury. She also had an avid interest in collecting angels. Above all, the main driving force of Pat's life was enjoying her large family, and spending time with them, especially with her grandchild, Daniel, and her many nieces and nephews. To all who knew her, Patricia was "Mom" to us all. Besides her parents, her loving husband of 28 years, Dr. Gregory Farry, who passed away Jan. 1, 1994, her sister, Phillis Penders, and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Allen, all predeceased her. Survivors include three sons, Timothy Farry of Queensbury, Gregory Farry and his son, Daniel, of Rochester, and Andrew Farry and companion, Cathy Catalfamo, of Glens Falls; one brother, Patrick Penders of Warrensburg; two sisters, Priscilla Foster and her husband, Edward Sr., of Mesa, Ariz., and Paula Prater and her husband, Rick, of Palmer, Mass.; three nieces, Elizabeth Foster and companion, Ernest Wilder Jr., of Stillwater, Elaine Foster of Phoenix, Ariz., and Marra Prater of Palmer, Mass.; two nephews, Edward Foster Jr. and his wife, Marie, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ricky Prater of Palmer, Mass.; two great-nephews, Ernest Foster of Stillwater and Edward Foster III of Phoenix, Ariz.; a longtime friend, Harold Levack of Queensbury; and also numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. Galcik of Grangerville, died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, and went into the arms of her Lord and the love of her life, her husband, John M. Galcik, who predeceased her. Rose was the beloved mother of Paul Galcik and his wife, Joyce, of Schuylerville, William Galcik and his wife, Vicki, of Saratoga Springs, proud grandmother of Debbie Taylor and her husband, Duane, of Glens Falls, Michael Galcik and his wife, Karen, of Schuylerville, Bridgette Schwerd and her husband, Michael, of Schuylerville, and Jason and Bryan Galcik of Saratoga Springs. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Zachary Galcik and her "little peanut" Brooke Schwerd. Rose was born May 20, 1914, in Quaker Springs, the daughter of Stephen and Margaret (Bialahoski) Kolonsky. She married John M. Galcik on Oct. 17, 1942. She was a 1933 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School and in 1934 graduated from the Eastmon School of Business. She had been a resident of Grangerville for over 50 years and saw many changes in her 91 years. She loved reading and was always ready to discuss current events. Rose was an avid sports fan and could be often found in her kitchen watching a ballgame. She knew all the ball scores and the stats of her favorite players. She swore until the very end that her Yankees would triumph this year. She will always be remembered by those who loved her and all of those whose lives she touched. Rose was predeceased in addition to her husband and parents by her two sisters, Helen Kolonsky, and Agnes Burke and her husband, William; her brother, Chris Kolonsky and his wife, Pauline; and family friends, Sylvester and Ann Novak. She is survived in addition to her immediate family by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ann and Howard Bolt of New Jersey; several nieces and nephews; her "number 3 son", Kurt Lohrey and his wife, Charlene, and their children, Brooke and Brett; her special friends, Phillip "Epic" Mabb and Peggy Coons; her special neighbors and friends, Sandy and Roy Horsfield, who always watched out for her and were always there to lend a helping hand. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Notre Dame Visitation Church, with the Rev. Granger, 56, of Sunset Lane, Putnam Station, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at his home. He was born Aug. 26, 1949, in Putnam Station, the son of Bernard and Helen (Bain) Granger. James was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was employed at J.P. Carrara & Sons in Middlebury, Vt. James is survived by his wife, Sharon Granger of Putnam Station; his children: Richard Granger of Memphis, Tenn., Sherry Granger of Richmond, Va., Brian Nolan of Moriah, Patrick Nolan of Corinth, and Jeff Nolan of Ticonderoga; his brothers, Frederick Granger, Richard Granger and Charles Granger, all of Putnam; and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Hazel Moore and a brother, Louis Granger. Hayes, Lester "Pete" BRANT LAKE - Lester "Pete" Hayes, 91, formerly of Pease Hill Road, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at West Mount Health Facility, Lake George after a long illness. Born in the town of Horicon, Brant Lake, on Oct. 11, 1913, he was the son of the late Jared and Pearl (Balch) Hayes. Mr. Hayes was a lifelong resident of Brant Lake. He most recently worked as a caretaker for Camp Redwing in Adirondack, previously worked and retired from the town of Horicon Highway Department and worked earlier for over 26 years at Tumble Brook Farm, Brant Lake. Lester was a member of the Horicon Baptist Church, Brant Lake. His hobbies included wood working, gardening, tapping trees and making maple syrup. But most of all his passion in life was spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was predeceased by one brother, Lorenzo Hayes, and one sister, Lena Mae Randlett. Survivors include his wife of more than 66 years, Doris Kingsley Hayes, of West Mount Health Facility, Lake George; four sons: Ronald Hayes of Brant Lake, Charles Hayes and his wife, Jane, of Chestertown, Lester Wayne Hayes of Chestertown, Jerry D. Hayes and his wife, Kathy, of Brant Lake; one daughter, Linda Susan Usher of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Edgar Hayes of Brant Lake and Ray Hayes of Brant Lake, one sister, Leta Hayes, of Warrensburg, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Martucci, 92, of 212 Broadway, Whitehall, returned to the arms of the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady surrounded by his family. Born on Dec. 12, 1912, in San Marco, Italy, he was the son of Frank and Angelina (Lombardo) Martucci. At the age of 7, he and his family immigrated from Italy, making Whitehall their home. He was a communicant and usher of Our Lady of Angels Roman Catholic Church of Whitehall. He recently attended Our Lady of Seven Dolors Roman Catholic Church in Fair Haven, Vt. Mr. Martucci enlisted in the United States Army on Jan. 26, 1944, serving as a medic. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 11, 1945, at Camp San Luis Obispo, Calif. He was a member of the Whitehall Council No. 276, Knights of Columbus of Whitehall, and a 4th degree Knight of Ticonderoga. He was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 83 of Whitehall, and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society of Whitehall and a member of Elks Lodge No. 1491 B.P.O.E. of Whitehall. Mr. Martucci was an avid gardener with his tomatoes and vegetables, an avid bowler at the Whitehall Elks Lodge, and an avid golfer and honorary member of the Skene Valley Country Club in Whitehall. Mr. Martucci and his wife, Marguerite (Scacchetti) Martucci, were united in marriage on June 18. 1939, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Granville, and had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at the time of her death on Sept. 18, 1999. Mr. Martucci owned and operated Joe's Barber Shop on Broadway in Whitehall, retiring in April of 2005, due to his health. He was proud that he operated his business in the same location for over 67 years. He came from a family of barbers: his father, uncle, brother and cousin. He was formerly employed at Champlain Spinners Silk Mill in Whitehall, and for the D & H. Railroad, while they were building the train tunnel on Saunders Street in Whitehall. He was predeceased by two brothers, Oswald and Gene Martucci, and one sister, Sabina Martucci. Survivors include one son, Dominick N. Martucci of Schenectady , two daughters; Mrs. Angela Marie Bromley-Martucci and her husband, George, of Schenectady, and Mrs. Marguerite A. Cleland and her husband, Walter of Schenectady, one brother; James Martucci and his wife, Marion, of Whitehall; five granddaughters: Danita Pogge and her husband, Hans, of Colonie, Angela Natale, her husband, Michael, and their children: Alexandra and Michael Natale of Rexford, Tara Cleland of Schenectady, Nichole Martucci and Dominique Martucci and her son, Nicholas Bassett, all of Dover, Del. and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rockwell, William "Rocky" NORTH GRANVILLE - William "Rocky" Rockwell went into the loving arms of the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, after a long fight with pulmonary fibrosis. Rocky was born on Aug. 20, 1932, at Lake Sunnyside, the son of Reginald and Marion Taylor Rockwell. He served in the Korean War and worked many years as a meat cutter. Rocky was an avid Harley rider and he loved fishing and doing woodworking. He loved going to the diner for coffee with his good buddy, Ken Thomas. He loved spending time with his family and Marlene's family and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Reginald Rockwell and his mother, Marion Taylor Rockwell, his brother, Emil Rockwell, and his daughter, Christine Rockwell Dockum. Rocky is survived by his special friend of seven years, Marlene Sanders; his daughters, Cindy Roberts and her husband, Joe, Carla Williams and her husband, Bruce, and Joyce Devino and her husband, Marvin, all of Granville; Marlene's daughters, Marie Domenick, Darlene Escoe and her husband, Byron, both of Maine, and Brenda Talbot of Michigan; two brothers, Philip Rockwell and his wife, Joan, of Hartford, and Raymond Rockwell and his wife, Thersa, of West Fort Ann; a sister, Pat Robinson and her husband, James, of Queensbury; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his cat, Peanut. White, 91, of the Neighborhood House in Keene Valley, formerly of 6615 Main St., Westport, died Saturday, Oct.8, 2005, at Elizabethtown Community Hospital. Born May 5, 1914, in Essex, N.Y., he was the son of Dean and Albena (Progin) White. Gil attended the Big Rock District School and graduated from Elizabethtown High School. He was married to Lena Hathaway for 54 years. Gib worked for over 41 years with the Grand Union Co. and 23 years at Champlain Milling in Westport. He helped establish the Westport Men's Club, the Westport Ski Club, the Memorial Day Ceremonies in Westport. He established the initial house numbering system in Westport and had the distinguished honor of being named the Citizen of the Year for Westport in 1995. He belonged to the Westport Fire Department for 39 years, and was a charter member of the Westport Ambulance Squad. He was a member of Sisco Lodge 259 of the Free & Accepted Masons for 66 years and served as master in 1944, and was District Deputy Grand Master Essex District in 1972, and a member of the Bessboro Chapter 651, and Adirondack Star Chapter 677, Order of the Eastern Star, the Westport Fish and Game Club, and a Baptist Member of the Westport Federated Church for 66 years. He enjoyed traveling and camping, playing the drums for dances, drafting homes and carpentry, snowmobiling, hunting and photography. Gil is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Gary Dickerson of Lewis; one son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Angela White, of Hudson Falls; a sister, Florence LaMountain of Willsboro, a sister and brother-in-law, Etta (White) and I. Herbert Potter of Elizabethtown, and a sister-in-law, Lunett White of Elizabethtown; four granddaughters and their spouses: Robin and Brad Jaques of Lake Placid, Cynthia and Kevin Lawson of Lewis, Heather White, of South Glens Falls, and Tracey White of Hudson Falls, five great-grandchildren: Olivia Jaques, Nashden Dickerson, Eleshia White, Gavin White, Logan White, and several nieces and nephews. Yanker, Casper QUEENSBURY - Casper Yanker, 85, of Sugar Pine Road, Queensbury, passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born Nov. 19, 1919, in Engelsbrunn, Romania, he was the son of Kaspar and Elisabeth (Messner) Yanker. He emigrated to this country in time to fight in World War II in the U.S. Army, serving from August of 1942 until his honorable discharge in November of 1945. After the war, he graduated from New York University and worked as an accountant for various companies, ending up as chief treasurer of the Atlantic Gulf and Pacific Dredging Corporation in Bloomfield, N.J. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Peter Yanker. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara (Schankula) Yanker of Queensbury; three children, Mary Romanowski and her husband, Michael, of Queensbury, Margaret Pitera and her husband, Theodore, of Dover Plains N.Y, and Michael Yanker of North Haledon N.J.; five grandchildren: Michael Romanowski, Olha Romanowski and her fiance, Kevin Clark, Matthew Romanowski, Theodore Pitera and Brian Pitera.
