CHESTERTOWN -- Daniel J. Baumann, 24, died unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany. Born Dec. 8, 1980, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Joseph A. Baumann Jr. of Adirondack and Cheryl (Narciso) Meyer of Chestertown. Daniel graduated from North Warren Central School in Chestertown, Class of 1999. He attended the University at Albany and was employed as a sales representative for Borders Book Store in Albany. His hobbies included making knives and swords. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, grandson, uncle and friend. Survivors besides his parents include his partner, Debbie Gutmaker, of Scotia, stepfather, Roger Meyer, of Chestertown; paternal grandmother, Joan Baumann of Adirondack; one sister, Anna Lindley and her husband, John Gibson, of New Mexico; two nieces, Maggie and Sarah Gibson; one aunt, Nancy Uggla and her husband, Bob, of Westchester, Pa; and two cousins, Arwen Price and Kristian Uggla. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Barton-McDermott Funeral Home, 9 Pine St., Chestertown, with the Rev. David Adams officiating. Boardman, Stephen Lawrence SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Stephen Lawrence Boardman of Saratoga Springs, died unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital. He was 34. Born on Jan. 8, 1971, in New London, Conn., Stephen was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School and the New England Culinary Institute. He worked as a Chef at Sargo's Restaurant at the Saratoga National Golf Club in Saratoga Springs. He was an active outdoorsman and musician. Stephen is survived by his mother, Constance Boardman, and her husband, Roger Meisenhelder, of Saratoga Springs; his father, Ronald Boardman and his wife, Deborah, of Saratoga Springs; his brothers, Mark Boardman and his wife, Linda, of East Orleans, Mass., and Scott Boardman and his wife, JoAnn, of Palm Coast, Fla.; his sister, Anna Bea Boardman of Saratoga Springs; his grandmother, Beatrice Boardman of Skowhegan, Maine; two stepbrothers; a stepsister; several aunts, uncles and cousins, a niece and four nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct.20, at the Presbyterian New England Congregational Church, 24 Circular St., Saratoga Springs. The Rev. Published in the Post-Star on 10/18/2005. Dayton, Chester A. SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Chester A. Dayton, 95, of 131 Lawrence St., died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, at Saratoga Springs Hospital. Born Jan. 6, 1910, in Hadley, he was the son of Wilbur T. and Jessie B. (White) Dayton. Chester had previously married Clara Stanton and Elizabeth M. Duell, who predeceased him. He then married Margaret Chapman in Plattsburgh on Jan. 1, 1982. Chester worked at International Paper Co. in Corinth for 17 years. He then opened, owned and operated Dayton Brothers Saw Mill and Lumber Yard in Corinth, with his brother Paul, for 35 years. He was a member and trustee of the Corinth Wesleyan Church for many years. He was a member of the Turnpike Wesleyan Church in Plattsburgh at the time of his death. He was a faithful Sunday School teacher and an active Gideon. He was also active in prison ministry at Dannemora State Prison, and spoke in many churches throughout the region. Chester enjoyed walking in the woods and in the mountains. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors including hunting and fishing in the Adirondacks. He was a devoted servant of God. He was a faithful and loving husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend. Chester was loved by all who knew him and will be remembered and missed by all. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Margaret "Marjean" of Saratoga; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Dale Dayton of Corinth; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Ramon Orton of Queensbury, and Nanette and the Rev. Leonard Humbert of Rose, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul D. Dayton; and many nieces and nephews. Chester was predeceased by one daughter, Mary Lou Dayton; two brothers, the Rev. Charles Dayton and the Rev. Wilbur Dayton; and six sisters-in-law: Ruth Carter, Ruth Brabon, Gladys McDonald, Josephine Fisher, Donna Fisher and Edna Maddox; and one sister and brother-in-law, Florence "Flossie" and her husband, George Denton. Box 524, Peru, NY 12972. Published in the Post-Star on 10/18/2005. Effland, Elizabeth Jane GLENS FALLS -- Elizabeth Jane Effland, 79, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at her home. Born on May 18, 1926, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Walter and Irene Effland. Elizabeth was a graduate of Glens Falls High School, Class of 1944, and worked for B. B. Fowler for one year before attending Marion College in Marion, Ind. She worked for several years at Wesleyan Publishing House in Syracuse, and approximately 10 years for Word of Life in New Jersey and Schroon Lake. She worked as an accountant, from 1964 until her retirement in 1988, at Houghton College in Houghton, N.Y. Upon her retirement, she returned to Glens Falls, but spent winters at Wesleyan Village in Brooksville, Fla., where she was a member of Brooksville Wesleyan Methodist Church. Betty was an accomplished seamstress and made over 1300 teddy bears. Survivors include two sisters, Alice Effland and Mary Hill; a niece, Deborah Hill, all of Glens Falls; and several cousins. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury, with the Rev. Gerald Matson officiating. "Ollie" Kenerson Jr., 36, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on Dec. 28, 1968, in Worcester, Mass., he was the son of Elizabeth Ann (Caouette) Kenerson of Worcester, Mass., and the late Oliver V. Kenerson Sr. Ollie was employed by the Glens Falls Hospital for 11 years, starting in dietary, then the X-ray department and most recently as a radiation technician. He also worked for Warren County ARC at the Ridge House in Glens Falls. A year-round fisherman, he loved to fish with his buddies, Earl, Curtis, Dave and Hazel. Ollie loved the Boston Red Sox -- woof, woof, woof, and loved to travel with his loving family, especially to Disney. He loved video games and arcades and was a joker, always putting a smile on your face. Best of all, he loved spending time with his wife, kids and many friends. Beside his father, Samantha the ferret predeceased him. Survivors besides his mom include his wife, Jeanette Alvarado of Queensbury; his children, Alexandria E. Kenerson, Oliver V. Kenerson III and Shawn M. Kenerson, Monique Vargas of Florida and Jeffrey Vargas of Glens Falls; two sisters, Barbara Parsley and her husband, Al, of Massachusetts and Linda Martinez and her husband, William, of Glens Falls; two brothers, Steve Kenerson and his wife, Suzanne Rice, of Glens Falls and Fred Bumgarner of Massachusetts; nephews and nieces, Alisha, Cheenell, Briana, Oceana, Desire, Steven, Elizabeth, Zach, Lucas, Shai and Zahriah; his mother-in-law, Marianella Williams of South Glens Falls, his sisters-in-law, India Vargas of Glens Falls and Wanda Alvarado of Massachusetts, and all the rest of his extended family; also all of the people at Glens Falls Hospital and ARC who Ollie thought of as part of his family. Funeral services will be celebrated at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 94 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, with the Rev. Flossie Gage Bates and the Rev. Loren Gage officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. McLachlan, Lois QUEENSBURY -- Lois McLachlan, 81, passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on Dec. 29, 1923, in Cooperstown, she was the daughter of the late Carroll and Ethel Norton. On Dec. 22, 1946, Lois married Clifton McLachlan. She worked at Schultz Ford in Nanuet, N.Y., for many years. Lois was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church of Pearl River. She enjoyed gathering with her friends and neighbors and her weekly exercise classes. Last year, Lois moved to Queensbury, after spending 41 years in Pearl River. Lois was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Besides her parents, Lois was predeceased by her husband, Clifton, and her sister, Jeanne. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Gaulin and her husband, James, of Hudson Falls; her son, Mark McLachlan of Virginia; three grandchildren: Michelle Rogers and her husband, Mark, Michelle Goodbred and her husband, Timothy, and Daniel Gaulin and his wife, Jill; seven great-grandchildren: Connor, Michael, Jamie, Kylie, Matthew, Alivia and Sarah; and two sisters, Wilma Jacobs and Beanie Hurst. Calling hours were held Monday, Oct. 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Ave., Pearl River.
