"Ronnie" Ticonderoga -- Rollin "Ronnie" J. Bezio, 67, of Mount Hope Avenue, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005. at his residence. Born in Ticonderoga, June 9, 1938, he was the son of the late Henry and Rita (Curtis) Bezio. Mr. Bezio was a lifelong resident of Ticonderoga. He was employed for many years as a logger/truck driver for various logging companies, most recently Laundry Trucking of Tupper Lake. Through the years, he held other occupations including employment by International Paper Company of Ticonderoga and a school bus driver for the Ticonderoga School system. He was a member of the Ticonderoga Emergency Squad and the Ticonderoga Fire Department. As a young man in the 1950s and 1960s, he was a Golden Glove Boxing Champ in New York and Vermont, boxing under the tutelage of Andy Andersen. For his weekends enjoyment, Ronnie would go camping with his family throughout the Adirondacks. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Bezio was a veteran of the United States Army. He was predeceased by his daughter, Sherry Bezio; and three sisters, his infant sister, Marie Bezio, Raydean Jenks, and Doris Trainor. Survivors include two sons, Thurman J. Bezio of Ticonderoga and Damon J. Bezio of Chestertown; one daughter, Dawn M. Bazan of Ticonderoga; and two brothers, John Bezio of Fort Ann and Vernal Bezio of Dresden. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A funeral service will take place Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Mr. Elliott A. Shaw, of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga. Published in the Post-Star on 9/5/2005. Dake Jr., Stanley B. Greenfield Center -- Staff Sergeant Stanley B. Dake Jr., of Sand Hill Road, died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Middle Line Road in the town of Milton, while on his way to work to support Operation Katrina. He was 26. He was born on June 19, 1979, in Saratoga Springs. He was a 1998 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. Staff Sergeant Dake was assigned to Company C of the 142nd Air Assault of the New York Army National Guard. Dake joined the New York Army National Guard on March 25, 1997. After basic training and Advanced Infantry Training, he became a member of E Co. 3/142 located at Latham, N.Y., at the Albany International Airport. At that time, he was a 67T Black Hawk aircraft mechanic. He showed true technical proficiency on these aircraft and came up through the ranks ahead of his peers. Staff Sergeant Dake was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on April 7, 2002, and assumed the position of Maintenance Section Sergeant. During his tenure in this position, he showed true leadership skills and was instrumental in sustaining a high aircraft availability status. Dake, because of his technical expertise, was moved to the Quality Control Section as a Technical Inspector in C Co. 3/142. In this section, he showed true knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures. Dake was also presently employed part time at Sears at Wilton Mall, where he worked in the hardware department. Dake enjoyed hunting, restoring cars and spending time with his family. His family will remember him as one who was loving, caring and thoughtful of others. He is survived by his father, Stanley B. Dake Sr. of Greenfield Center; his mother, Catherine Dake of Clifton Park; his stepmother, Brenda Dake of Greenfield Center; a brother, Robert Dake of Stamford, Conn.; two sisters, Charlene Fessia of Clifton Park and Lana Mc Call of Hadley; three nephews, Anthony Fessia, Seth Mc Call and Logan Mc Call; several aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service with full military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church, Fifth Avenue at Henning Road, Saratoga Springs. The Rev. Holly Nye will officiate. Burial will follow at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at noon, Duell Road, Schuylerville. Donahue, Christine M. Iowa City, IOWA -- Christine M. Donahue, 21, of Iowa City, formerly of Greenwich, N.Y., and Lewisburg, Pa., died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics with her family and boyfriend by her side, after a courageous battle with a malignant brain tumor. The family will greet friends on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, one hour before the 12 p.m. memorial service at Flynn Brother Funeral Home, 80 Main St., in Greenwich. Burial will be in Greenwich Cemetery, in Greenwich. Christine was born May 22, 1984, in Harrisburg, Pa., the daughter of James L. and Virginia R. (Shaw) Donahue. She graduated from Lewisburg High School. After high school she attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and later attended William Paterson University in Wayne, N.J. Christine had a wonderful personality. She was outgoing, had many, many friends and was loved by all who knew her. Christine was always helping others. She loved singing and had many leading roles in her high school musicals. She very much enjoyed spending time with children. During her summers she volunteered teaching summer musical theater programs for kids. She also volunteered at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She is survived by her parents, Dr. Jim and Ginny Donahue of Iowa City, Iowa; three loving sisters; Amy Donahue of Seattle, Wash., Lisa and Marie Donahue of Iowa City, Iowa; her grandparents, Henry and Helen Shaw of Greenwich, Robert and Margarethe Donahue of Brooklyn, N.Y.; she is survived by the love of her life, Ken Fowser, of Ocean City, N.J.; by her aunts and uncles, Arlene and Skip Starr of Cambridge, Daniel and June Shaw of Greenwich, David and Roberta Shaw of Simpsonville, S.C., and Kathleen and Bernd Luers of Glendale, N.Y. Published in the Post-Star on 9/5/2005. Emrick Jr., Harry W. "Hap" Stony Creek -- Harry W. "Hap" Emrick Jr., age 67, of Murray Road, died Friday evening, Sept. 2, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on May 13, 1938, in Brooklyn, he was the son of Harry W. Emrick Sr. and Angela (Higney) Emrick. Hap grew up on Long Island and on April 4, 1964, he married Barbara J. Wolkowski in Huntington on Long Island. After vacationing in the area for many years, Hap and Barbara moved to Stony Creek full time in 1985, at which time Hap opened Emrick's Emporium on Harrisburg Road. He enjoyed working at his store, visiting with his friends and customers, going out to dinner and visiting with his granddaughters. Hap was predeceased by his parents and his loving wife of 35 years, Barbara, who died on July 6, 1999, and one brother, Ronald W. Emrick. Survivors include one daughter, Christine L. Emrick and her companion, Scott Smith, of Stony Creek; two sons, Kevin W. Emrick and his companion, Marnie Calhoun, of Warrensburg, and Donald K. Emrick and his wife, Dixie, of Hadley; three granddaughters, Heather M. Emrick, Nicole R. Emrick and Marquelle E. Emrick; one sister, Audrey Haller and her husband, Robert, of Hampton Bays, Long Island; a sister-in-law, Doris Emrick of Islip; his cousin, Ken Snekenberg and his wife, Loretta, of New Hyde Park; one aunt; several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his very special friend, Kay L. McReynolds, James Joseph "Jim" GREENWICH -- James "Jim" Joseph McReynolds, II, 72, retired letter carrier, lifelong resident of Greenwich, died peacefully at the Saratoga Hospital on Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, following a brief illness. He was born March 26, 1933, in the village of Greenwich, to the late James and Dorcas (Conway) McReynolds. He graduated from Greenwich High School in 1951, and joining the United States Air Force, where he served in the 30th Comm Squad as a Crypto Operator, as a decoder during the Korean War. On August 31, 1957, he was united in marriage to Norma Gillis in Greenwich. After the Air Force, Jim worked at Greenwich School as a bus driver, Lyttle's Lumber, and became a United States postal carrier. He was also co-owner of McReynolds Grocery with his mother, Dorcas, until it closed its doors in 1977. He was a mailman for 26 years before retiring in August of 1992. Jim loved being a mailman, and is how he will be most remembered by anyone who knew him. Jim was a member of American Legion Post No. 515. Jim was known for his generosity and eagerness to help others. He was a devoted New York Yankees fan, loved sports and enjoyed watching the grandchildren as they participated in area leagues, reading history, and visiting with friends and neighbors. Jim was a wonderful husband, an excellent father and the greatest friend. Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years Norma; his daughter, Jo Ann and her husband, Dan Marchaland; son, James McReynolds III; daughter, Karen and her husband, Steve Lewis; daughter, Colleen Mattison; his son, Patrick and wife, Michelle McReynolds; and daughter, Sandy McReynolds; nine grandchildren, Thomas Worth, Meghan, Hillary, and Maxx Mattison, Travis, Sara, and Avery McReynolds, James and Lucas McReynolds; two sisters, Betty Dixson and Jean Simmons; also surviving are many nieces and nephews and many friends. He was predeceased, in addition to his parents, by a sister, Margaret Getty, and a granddaughter, Kaytlyn McReynolds. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held at a time to be announced on Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, with the Rev. Thomas Konopka officiating. Wells, 73, of Ogden Street, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born in Burlington, Vt., on Aug. 1, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Hugo and Beatrice (Bigelow) Myhrberg. Gunnie worked for the Pennysaver in Corinth for many years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and doing word search puzzles. Gunnie was a loving and generous person who loved spending time with her family and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Hilda Ashe, and a brother, Eddy Myhrberg. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Robert W. Wells of Glens Falls; three daughters, Debra Wells and Jeff of Glens Falls, Katharyn Wells and Geno of South Glens Falls, and Lisa Duchesne and her husband, Gary, of Clifton Park; five grandchildren, Michele Dake of South Glens Falls, Caren Dake of Gansevoort, Dennis Dake of Queensbury, Alyssa Osgood of Clifton Park and Brette Osgood of Clifton Park; two great-grandchildren, Alex Delisle of South Glens Falls, Jordan Stevens of Gansevoort, and her three friends she thought of as grandchildren, Marshall, Lani and Andy; a brother, Gustaf Myhrberg, and his wife, Helen, of Queensbury; and three sisters, Ruth Blondin and her husband Harold, of Queensbury, Edla Mammana of Latham, and Frances Brown of Ballston Spa; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. A gathering for friends and family will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Debra's home on Auburn Place, Glens Falls.
