QUEENSBURY -- Rosemary C. DuCuennois, 91, a longtime resident of Ridge Road, passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, at Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Queensbury. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at a time to be announced Wednesday at the Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation, Queensbury. Flewelling Sr., 60, of Pleasant Valley Road, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Glens Falls on May 23, 1945, he was the son of Ruth (Tooker) Flewelling and the late Joseph Flewelling Sr. Ralph attended Argyle Central School. He worked for 22 years for Lufkin Excavating. He then opened his own business called Flewelling Excavating. Ralph enjoyed snowmobiling, four-wheeling and going to camp at Stony Creek. He especially enjoyed spending time at Squirts Restaurant, his wife's, busing tables, doing dishes for the girls and visits with customers. He was also an avid John Deere collector. Survivors, besides his mother, include his wife, Darlene (Wade) Flewelling of Argyle; a son, Ralph Flewelling Jr. and his wife, Kelly, of Argyle; two daughters, Darcy Phillips and her husband, Roy, of Fort Ann, and Tammy Durkee and her husband, Steven, or Argyle; two brothers, Joseph Flewelling Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Argyle, Stanley Flewelling Sr. and his wife, Thelma, of Queensbury; seven sisters: Frances and her husband, Guy Harrington Sr., of Long Island, Barbara and her husband, Lester Jenkins Sr., of Corinth, Belva Langworthy of Argyle, Norma and her husband, Karl Monroe, of Argyle, Gail Flewelling of Saratoga, Ruth and her husband, Don Cross Sr., of Argyle and Jean and her husband, Sterling "Porky" Sumner of Fort Edward; five grandchildren: Jessica Flewelling and Ralph Flewelling III of Broadalbin, Dean Stevenson of Fort Ann, Dawson and Dillon Durkee, both of Argyle; six stepchildren; several stepgrandchildren; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at M. B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 123 Main St., Argyle. Funeral services will be conducted at a time to be announced on Thursday, Sept. 8, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at South Argyle Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Poncho Wade, Mike Monroe, Mike Lohret, Jason Goodson, Roy Phillips and Steve Durkee. The family suggests that donations be made in Ralph's memory to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 6 Automation Lane, Albany, NY 12205. The family would like to extend a special thanks to a special nephew, Mike Monroe, and to the nurses and staff on 3 West-B of the Glens Falls Hospital, especially, Peggy, Trish and Debbie. Published in the Post-Star on 9/6/2005. Lohret, Gabrielle M. Latham -- Gabrielle M. Lohret, 98, passed away Friday, Sept, 2, 2005. She was born in Montreal, Canada, on Nov. 27, 1906, the daughter of the late John Louis and Emilia (Bouchard) Tremblay. She was married to the late Joseph G. Lohret, who passed away Nov. 10, 1986. Gabrielle was a graduate nurse of the Glens Falls Hospital, Class of 1928. She was a life member of St. Anne's Sodality of St. Alphonsus Church, a member of Court McDermott No. 88 Catholic Daughters of America, a Lay-Carmelite, and an associate member of Adirondack Chapter Telephone Pioneer. Gabrielle was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Joseph, her daughter, Mary Gabrielle, also her brothers, John L. and Eugene Tremblay. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Elise Gifford and her husband, James, of Gansevoort; her son, Joseph G. Lohret and his wife, Sheila, of South Argyle; son, John L. Lohret and his wife, Margaret, of Cobleskill; 17 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; her niece, JoAnne Tremblay Kelly, and nephew, John C. Tremblay, both of Queensbury; along with her best friend, Edna Ackley of Glens Falls. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Our Lady of Hope, 1 Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Pine Street, Queensbury. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service at Our Lady of Hope. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Hope, 1 Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham, NY 12110, or to St. Alphonsus Church, 4 Crandall St., Glens Falls, NY 12801. Ross, 75, of Crown Point, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, in the arms of his son, Randy, at the family homestead on Hogback Road. Willis was born on April 29, 1930, in Crown Point, the son of the late Albert Ross and Eva Ross Lindeman. Willis retired from International Paper Co. in Ticonderoga after 40 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he received a Purple Heart during his tour of duty. On June 28, 1952, he married Patricia Sheehan. Together they raised three children. Survivors include his wife, Patty; a daughter, Cindy Ross Collins and her husband, Michel, of Union, Maine; one son, Randy and his wife, Elizabeth, of Ballston Lake; and a daughter, Mindy Ross Bremer and her husband, John, of Newark, N.Y.; grandchildren: Shawn Collins, Kristi Collins, Nicole Ross, Dustin Ross, Loren Ross, Kayleigh Bremer, Kristin Bremer and Ashley Bremer; and two great-grandchildren, Jayme Stone and Michael Ross. He is also survived by four brothers: Arnold Ross, Carl Ross, Robert Ross, and Joseph Ross; three sisters, Gloria Tubbs, Donna Spaulding and Shirley Beach; and several nieces and nephews. Willis was predeceased by five brothers: Wesley, Ernest, Donald, Harold and Richard; and one sister, Flora Thatcher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church in Crown Point. GLENS FALLS -- Peter A. Strasser, 66, passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital following a short illness. Winslow, Joan E. SOUTH GLENS FALLS -- Joan E. Winslow, 70, of Second Street, died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born in Glens Falls on Jan. 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mae (Rice) Winslow. Joan retired from Native Textiles after many years of service. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, James Winslow, Fredrick Winslow, William Winslow, and Lucien Winslow Sr., and her sisters, Lucille St. John and Eleanor McPherson. Survivors include her brothers, Robert Winslow of Newcomb and Alvin Winslow and his wife, Connie, of Florida; her sisters, Pearl Fragassi of Glens Falls, and Harriet Reynolds and her husband, Ivan, of Cambridge; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. At Joan's request, there will be no calling hours. Funeral and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
