DuCuennois, Rosemary C. QUEENSBURY -- Rosemary C. DuCuennois, 91, a longtime resident of Ridge Road, passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, at the Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Queensbury. Born Sept. 16, 1913, in Albany, she was the daughter of Dennis and Mary (Danahy) Houlihan. Rosemary graduated from Cathedral Academy and Mildred Elley School in Albany. She married Francis L. DuCuennois, and the couple moved to Corinth before settling on Ridge Road in Queensbury in 1956. She was employed by New York State in Albany and Saratoga as a stenographer. Her husband, Francis, a region-six conservation officer in Warrensburg, predeceased her. Rosemary leaves behind her beloved son, Paul DuCuennois and his wife, Connie; and granddaughters, Amy and Sara of Cooper City, Fla. Friends may call on Rosemary's family from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation, 448 Aviation Road, Queensbury, with the Rev. Joseph Busch, pastor, officiating. (Atwell) Guilder, 76, of county Route 24, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital following a short illness. Born on March 12, 1929, in Lake Luzerne, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Grace (Carlton) Lindsey. Mrs. Guilder attended Hadley-Luzerne schools. She married Howard F. Guilder on June 26, 1982, in Hadley. The couple first resided in Hadley for several years before moving to their current home in Corinth. Mrs. Guilder worked for many years as a nurse's aide at Adirondack Regional Hospital in Corinth and at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs. She was a member of the American Legion Post 70 Auxiliary of Saratoga Springs and the Gurtler Brothers V.F.W. Post Auxiliary of Saratoga Springs. Mrs. Guilder enjoyed going to the casinos, bingo and baking for her friends and family. Besides her parents, one infant daughter; two sisters, Barbara LeClair and Marion Diehl; and two brothers, Howard and Harold Lindsey, all died before her. Survivors besides her husband of 23 years include two daughters, Lee Ann Shattuck of Corinth, and Lynn Waller and her husband, Charles, of Corinth; three brothers: Douglas Lindsey and his wife, Pat, of Gloversville, Tom Lindsey and his wife, Lois, of Moreau, and Bernard Lindsey and his wife, Linda, of Wilton; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Corinth Rural Cemetery, Route 9N, Corinth, with the Rev. Judith Humphrey-Fox, pastor of the Spirit of Life United Methodist Church of South Corinth, officiating. Hensley, Lester SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Lester Hensley, 70, of King Road, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Sept. 6, 2005, with his loving family at his side, and under the caring staff of Saratoga Hospital and Hospice of Saratoga. He was born on May 16, 1935, in Burnsville, N.C., the son of Liddie Higgins and Jim Hensley. Les was a Sgt. First Class in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in the 413th Infantry Regiment. He returned to Oakland Army Base in Oakland, Calif., where he met and married on May 4, 1956, his beloved wife, Dorothy Hilpert. They were married 47 years. Les moved his family to Saratoga, where they raised their four children. He worked for 33 years as a driver for Adirondack Trailways, where he was one of the youngest members to ever earn the Million Mile Safety award. Les enjoyed taking local high school children on their senior trips as well as yearly trips to Kansas City with the local FFA groups. Les also enjoyed working the Fall Foliage Talk Tours throughout New England. Les was a member of the First Baptist Church of South Glens Falls for 31 years. During that time, he served as deacon and supported the church family with all his heart. Les loved to travel throughout New England, especially to Cape Cod. He also enjoyed antique car shows and cooking. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Christi Hensley of Charlotte, N.C., and Andrew and Carol Hensley of Winchester, Va.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Tim Tiffin of Fort Worth, Texas, and Robin and David Mitchell of Saratoga Springs; 10 grandchildren: James and Craig Hensley and Rebecca Harwell, Jacob and Darrek Tiffin, Beth, James and Carolina Mitchell, David Wasson and Christina Day; one aunt, Monnie Higgins of Mars Hill, N.C.; one uncle, Shelby Higgins of Greenville, Tenn.; and several cousins. Les, remarried on Jan. 1, 2005 to Patricia Gokey of Glens Falls, a longtime family friend. His first wife, parents and a granddaughter, Crystal Jo Galusha-Hensley, predeceased him. Mosier, Bernadette Ann TICONDEROGA -- Bernadette Ann Mosier, 54, of The Portage, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga. Born in Ticonderoga, Aug. 27, 1951, she was the daughter of Bernard and Joyce (Smith) Schryer. Bernadette had been a lifelong resident of Ticonderoga. She was employed by Wal-Mart of Ticonderoga as manager of the meat department for the past seven years. Before that she was employed by the P & C Market and Ti Market of Ticonderoga for many years. Bernadette was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post No. 224 of Ticonderoga. She is survived by her parents, Bernard and Joyce Schryer of Zephyrhills, Fla. and Ticonderoga; three sons, Jerry B. "Butch" Mosier and his wife, Angela, Jason A. Mosier and his wife, Julie, and Adam D. Mosier, and his companion, Nicki, all of Ticonderoga; one daughter, Alyce D. Frazier and her companion, Dan, of Ticonderoga; one brother, Randy Schryer of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Brenda Martin and Lisa McDonough, both of Ticonderoga; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews including Angel Scuderi, who she resided with. Strasser, 66, passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital following a short illness. Born on July 27, 1939, in Southampton, N.Y., he was the son of the late Anthony J. Strasser and Velma (Young) Strasser. Mr. Strasser graduated from Lake George Central School, Class of 1957. He attended Villanova University in Pennsylvania. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, A2C, serving from 1962-1964. Mr. Strasser was employed as a systems analyst for Glens Falls Insurance Co, prior to his work with the New York State Facilities Development Corp. in Albany, where he retired after 27 years. He then was employed by Genpak of Glens Falls. He was an Oakland Raiders football fan and a classic-car enthusiast. Mr. Strasser is survived by four children: Michael S. Strasser and his fiancee, Susan Corlew, of Lake George, John A. Strasser and his significant other, Laurie Krug, of Glens Falls, Sheryl Hutchison and her husband, John, of Lawrenceville, N.J., and Mark A. Strasser of Clifton Park; their mother, Jacqueline Hazlett, of Warrensburg; two siblings, G. Sally Strasser of Glens Falls, and Sandra Klumm and her husband, David, of Lake Mary, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Warren Street, Glens Falls, with the Rev. James Mackey, pastor, officiating.
