WEST RUPERT, Vt. -- Evelyn J. Blomberg, 89, of West Rupert, Vt., beloved wife of the late Arthur Blomberg, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 7, 2005, at The Orchard Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Granville. Mrs. Blomberg was born Oct. 7, 1915, in Rupert, Vt., the daughter of the late Mark and Flora Wright Bentley. She worked at Lewis Bros. Mill in West Rupert and was a homemaker and a member of the West Rupert Church of Christ and the Salem Area Senior Citizens. Mrs. Blomberg enjoyed crocheting, gardening and was a caregiver. She is survived by her loving children: Axel Blomberg and his wife, Donna, of West Rupert, Vt., Arthur Blomberg and his wife, Shirley, and Eric Blomberg and his wife, Phyllis, all of Willimantic, Conn., and Johanna Steinruck and her husband, Clifford, of Mohrsville, Pa. She is also survived by a sister, Sara Lake of Hoosick Falls; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; and three stepgreat-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Justin Bentley. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 11:30 a.m. at McClellan Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem, with the Rev. Paul Mychack officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at Rupert Cemetery in Rupert, Vt. Carelli, Viola Margaret "Vi" INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Viola "Vi" Margaret Carelli, 87, died peacefully Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, at her residence in Indianapolis. She was the wife of the late Joseph Carelli, who died in 1982. Vi formerly resided in Walloomsac, N.Y. Mrs. Carelli was born on July 30, 1918, the daughter of the late Oscar E. and Catherine G. (Fennessey) Ellis. She was formerly employed as a deputy town clerk for the town of Hoosick and also served as a deputy town assessor. Before moving to Indianapolis, Viola was a member of the North Hoosick Fire Department Auxiliary, St. Mary's Academy Auxiliary, the Grange, the Hoosick Falls Health Center Auxiliary and was a former president of the local Women's Republican Club. She was also a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. Survivors include her daughter, Katherine Bartholomew and her husband, Jeffery, of Indianapolis; her granddaughter, Wendy Sue King and her husband, Scott; three great-grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas and Olivia; her brother, George Lavin; her sisters, Ruth Marie Riley and her husband, John, and Margaret "Dolly" Cottrell; and many nieces and nephews. Viola was predeceased by five brothers: John and Robert Ellis, Paul, Thomas and William Lavin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Fowler, Minnie WILTON -- Minnie Fowler, 91, formerly of Route 9, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at Stanton Health & Rehabilitation Center in Queensbury, following a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born on Sept. 1, 1910, in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of Andrius and Emelia (Kellack) Schwank. She was a graduate of Ballston Spa High School. For over 37 years, she was employed as a supervisor at Van Raalte Co. in Saratoga Springs. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, bowling, hunting and fly-fishing with her husband, Hugh. Mrs. Fowler was a member of St. Paul's Evangelist Lutheran Church in Saratoga Springs. Her husband, Hugh Fowler, died Sept 22, 1995, and a brother, Daniel Schwank, also predeceased her. Survivors include a niece, Marilyn Schwank, of Wilton; a grandnephew, Daniel Schwank; a sister-in-law, Martha Parker, all of Wilton; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept 10, at Tunison Funeral Home, 105 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs. Burial will follow at Dunning Street Cemetery in Malta. Published in the Post-Star on 9/8/2005. Kowalski, Bruno Walter ADIRONDACK -- Bruno Walter Kowalski, 90, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital after a long illness. Born Oct. 15, 1914, in Passaic, N.J., he was the son of the late Frank and Frances (Rzedicka) Kowalski. Mr. Kowalski was a retired machinist with Local No. 467 Machinists and Aerospace Workers of Pearl River. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Horicon Senior Citizens. He is survived by his wife of more than 40 years, Elizabeth Hydro Kowalski, of Adirondack; one son, Bruce Kowalski, of Oregon; one daughter, Rose Mary Kowalski, of Oregon; and two grandchildren. Published in the Post-Star on 9/8/2005. Neilson, Donald J. GREENWICH -- Donald J. Neilson, 80, a resident of Mowry Avenue, Greenwich, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born Oct. 4, 1924, in the town of Easton, he was the son of Edwin and Bessie Hagadorn Neilson. He retired from Hollingsworth and Vose Paper Co. in Center Falls, and had also been employed by Whiteman Chevrolet in Glens Falls. For the past 30 years, Don was known around the village of Greenwich as the village walker by all who live or travel through Greenwich. Anytime of the day, he would be out walking and waving to all who passed by. The many friends that he made along the way will surely miss him. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Charles, and sisters, Mildred Myers and Amaryllis Locke. Survivors include a brother, Marshall Neilson of Vischers Ferry; two sisters, Lottie Fasoli of Greenwich and Bertha Goman of Henrietta, Okla.; his aunts, Mamie Bozony of Saratoga and Alice Skeals of Cockeysville, Md.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich, with the Rev. Janet Vincent officiating. Plummer of Butler Road, Fort Edward, and Mount Dora, Fla., passed into the loving arms of our Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by the love and support of her family. Noeline was born on Feb. 4, 1930, in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of the late Margaret and Garrett Kelleher of Boylston, Mass. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Earl Plummer, who passed away in 2003. She was an avid golfer for more than 50 years, winning a number of women's club championships at the Tee-Bird Country Club in South Glens Falls, and several at the Mount Dora Country Club in Mount Dora, Fla. She spent her retirement happily playing golf and living in Mount Dora, where she had many wonderful friends and neighbors. Noeline leaves behind a son, David L. Snyder, and his wife, Tracy, of Fort Edward; a daughter, Niki Baker and her husband, Rusty, of Gansevoort; one grandson, Garth Baker and his wife, Allison, of South Glens Falls; four granddaughters: Kelly Baker, Kylee Baker and Kelsi Baker of Gansevoort and Molly Snyder of Loudonville; two great-grandchildren, Katelynn and Dale Baker of South Glens Falls; and one brother, Gary Kelleher, of Mount Dora, Fla. A farewell gathering of family and friends to honor the wonderful life of Noeline will take place at the South Glens Falls United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17. Pastor Kelly Warner will lead this memorial service. A reception brunch will be held following the service in the church's Fellowship Hall. Arrangements are under the direction of M. B. Wescott, 97, formerly of Hudson Falls, and Henry Street in Glens Falls, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at Fort Hudson Health Care Center. Born on March 27, 1908, in Fort Ann, she was the daughter of Frank and Ida (Stuart) Wescott. She was a member of the Kingsbury Baptist Church. Miss Wescott worked in many factories and cared for people that were ill. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, reading, listening to country music and radio talk shows. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a strong faith. Survivors include her close friends and the staff at the Fort Hudson Health Care Center. Burial will be private at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.
