He was the widower of Julia Fedory, who died in 2004. Born Jan. 1, 1913, on the family farm in Hazen, Ark., he was the son of Michael D. and Anna (Seba) Fedory. Daniel and Julia were married on Aug. 13, 1938, in New York City, and moved to the Schenectady area in 1943. They were communicants of St. Basil's Russian Orthodox Church in Watervliet. He began his career as a machinist/toolmaker at the Brooklyn Naval Yard. He worked at the Watervliet Arsenal, and then for several years at ALCO (American Locomotive Co.), returning to the Arsenal from which he retired in 1975. Hunting for game was essential for an Arkansas farm family. At a very young age, Daniel learned to duck hunt from his sister, Mary, and thus began his lifelong love of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing as well as hunting and belonged to various national and local sporting organizations. In the mid-1940s, he started hunting in the White Creek area and fishing the Batten Kill. He built a camp in Chestnut Woods in 1953 and a summer cottage on Schoolhouse Hill in Cambridge 10 years later. Daniel remained an outdoor enthusiast until he was disabled by a fall in May 2004. Daniel was predeceased by his wife and five siblings. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, William and Norma Fedory of Cambridge; a daughter, Mary Bolles, of Troy; a sister, Katherine Caputo, of Saratoga Springs; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Monday, Sept. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Basil's Russian Orthodox Church, 6 Lansing Ave., Watervliet. Burial will follow at St. Basil's Cemetery. Hayes, 63, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her family after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Born Feb. 2, 1942, in Brant Lake, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Ada (Newton) Bolton Sr. Mrs. Hayes graduated from Horicon Central School, Class of 1959, as class salutatorian. She was employed as a cafeteria worker in the Horicon Central School, then for North Warren Central School in the Pottersville Middle School. Mary was an active member for the Horicon Baptist Church in Brant Lake as past president of the Ladies Aide, Sunday school and Bible teacher, and active with the crusaders. She was a past den mother with the Cub Scouts. Her hobbies included reading, knitting and camping with her family. Mary will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was predeceased by one sister, Jane Bolton. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Ronald L. Hayes, of Brant Lake, whom she married on March 12, 1960; two sons, Kenneth Hayes and his wife, Louise, of Brant Lake, and Kevin Hayes and his wife, Andrea, of Warrensburg; one daughter, Kathy Durkish and her husband, Tony, of Raleigh, N.C.; two brothers, Bert Bolton Jr. and his wife, Luella, of Brant Lake, and Dennis Bolton Jr. of Brant Lake; four sisters: Shirley Bolton of Chestertown, Alice Wood of Brant Lake, Jean Wood and her husband, Walter, of Brant Lake, and Brenda Pratt and her husband, Donald, of Bolton Landing: five granddaughters: Veronica Durkish, Cassandra Durkish, Sierra Hayes, Kylie Hayes, and Merissa Hayes, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Horicon Baptist Church, state Route 8, Brant Lake, with the Rev. Charles Metzger, pastor, officiating. Raymond III, Noah Joseph "Newy" DRESDEN -- Noah "Newy" Joseph Raymond III, 49, of Pike Brook Road, was taken into the arms of the Lord to be with his mother, Ursula, on Friday, Sept. 9, 2005. Born on Dec. 23, 1955, in Whitehall, he was the son of Noah J. Raymond Jr. and the late Ursula (Hayes) Holcomb. Noah married Esther Manor on April 28, 1979. They celebrated and enjoyed 26 years together. They resided in Pike Brook, where Noah grew up and where they enjoyed their home with family and friends, especially their grandchildren. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy on the USS Saratoga during the Vietnam War. Noah had been an employee for the town of Dresden Highway Department. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 83 of Whitehall, and was a member of the Dresden Fire Co. Papa had many special times with his grandchildren, his NASCAR trips with Shane, fishing and canoeing with Ryan, and eating ice cream and gardening with his girls, Shayla, Brielle and Hannah. Noah enjoyed country music, motorcycles, camping, fishing, working in his garage and his most memorable trip was to Nashville with his wife for their 25th anniversary. He was a strong, caring, good friend to all, especially his good friends, Joanne and Chris Eagan, his special aunt and uncle, Marion and Maynard Rushia, and several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. Besides his father, Noah J. Raymond Jr. of Clemons, and his wife, Esther Raymond, of Clemons, he is survived by his son, Noah Raymond IV and his girlfriend, Diana, of Whitehall; two daughters, Brenda Burke and her husband, Patrick, of Saratoga, and Serena Putorti of Whitehall; grandchildren: Shane Bennett, Ryan Putorti, Shayla Burke, Brielle Burke and Hannah Raymond; three brothers: Michael Downey and his wife, Marion, of Whitehall, Fred Raymond and his wife, Kym, of Whitehall, and Edwin Raymond and his wife, Kim, of Clemons; two sisters, Tina Taylor and her husband, James, of Crown Point, and Michelle Therrian and her husband, Dave, of Whitehall. Noah will be greatly missed by all and cherished and loved by most. Until we see you again, we love you forever, husband, dad, Papa, son, brother, uncle, friend and nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall, with Father David LeFort, pastor, officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at Pike Brook Cemetery, Clemons. Rivette, Miriam Snyder CORINTH -- Miriam Snyder Rivette, 74, of Center Street, passed away Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital following a short illness. Born on Jan. 28, 1931, in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Mary (Vetter) Snyder. Mrs. Rivette completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the State University of New York in Plattsburgh. Miriam started her teaching career in Broadalbin. In 1954, she embarked on a longtime "love affair" with the Corinth Central School system as an elementary school teacher. A dedicated teacher, she was known as a strict disciplinarian with a resounding voice who had a special attraction to "erasers." Always commanding respect, she had a knack for turning the little ones' fears into admiration and love by the year's end. Advising extra-curricular activities of the school, Mrs. Rivette worked with cheerleaders as well as several classes through the years. Although retired, she continued to be active, substituting and serving as "Madame Ticket Taker" at all the sporting events until her passing. A lifetime member of the New York State Teachers Association, she was an active member of NYSUT Retiree Council No. 10, participating in their activities and trips. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Greenfield Center. Miriam was especially proud of her membership in the Red Hat Society, participating in two groups, Queen of the Spa, Greenfield and Jessup's Landing in Corinth. She spent many enjoyable outings with them. She was a caring, generous person who loved her flower garden, the Christmas holidays and found great pleasure in remembering her many friends on special occasions in their lives. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Peter Rivette, in 1979, and by her brother, William, in 2004. She is survived by two sons, Edward Rivette Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Corinth, and Kevin Rivette of Albany; two granddaughters, Charlene of Corinth and Anita of Cave City, Ky.; five great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Pat, of Malverne, Long Island; and her ex-husband, Edward Rivette Sr. of Corinth. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Corinth, 409 Palmer Ave., Corinth, with the Rev. Charles Gaffigan, pastor, and the Rev. Martin DeRose of St. Joseph's Church of Greenfield Center, co-officiating. A Rite of Committal will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Corinth. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth. The family suggests that memorials take the form of donations to the Corinth Chapter of Dollars for Scholars, P.O. Box 1, Corinth, NY 12822.
