Born on Feb. 6, 1935, in Newburgh, he was the son of the late James E. and Madeline (Fisher) Barron Sr. Jim served with the United States Air Force for 8 1/2 years. On March 19, 1960, he married Patricia Summers at the Congregational Church in Clinton Heights, N.Y. Jim worked for many of the local radio stations in this area for close to 35 years. He was most proud of working with Joe Pezzulo, when they covered the 1980 Olympics, especially the USA's winning hockey game. After retiring from radio, he worked for HA-PE-DE, Inc., at the visitor's center on the Northway. Jim enjoyed working there and "telling tourists where to go." He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hudson Falls, where he served as a deacon and elder. For many years, Jim was a youth leader in the church. He loved going to coffee shops, where he enjoyed meeting and talking to people. One of the most enjoyable things in his life was spending time with his grandchildren. Jim was a CARITAS volunteer and a past member of the Rotary Club and the Kiwanis Club. In addition to his parents, a sister, Denise (Barron) Barker, also died before him. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Patricia Barron, of Hudson Falls; his three sons, Keith Barron and his wife, Sharon, of Skaneateles, Kevin Barron and his wife, Christine, of Winter Park, Fla., and Michael Barron and his wife, Jane, of Greenwich; his seven grandchildren, Andrew Barron, David Barron, Erik Barron, Thomas Barron, Amanda Barron, Jonathan Barron and Alicia Barron; his two brothers, Bruce Barron and his wife, Gloria, of Campbell Hall and Stephen Barron and his wife, Noreen, of Fort Ann; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses and therapists who worked with Jim. Your help was greatly appreciated. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church on the park in Hudson Falls, with the Rev. Jason Santalucia, pastor, officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the Gerald B.H. Solomon, Saratoga National Cemetery on Duell Road, in the town of Stillwater. Kobylarz of Queensbury passed into the arms of the Lord early Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, after a very long struggle with Parkinson's disease. She was born in Toronto, Canada, on March 12, 1932. Eleanor graduated from Jarvis Institute and attended the University of Toronto. During her working career, Eleanor had been employed with E. F. Hutton, and had been selected to Who's Who's in American Women. She had been active in and enjoyed her roles in the Glens Falls Theatre productions many years ago. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Glens Falls. Eleanor was predeceased by her former husband, Daniel B. Tallon and by her father, Anthony Chudzik and mother, Anna (Cucman) Chudzik. She is survived, and dearly missed by her loving husband, Daniel Kobylarz-Hughes; and by her children, Greg Tallon and his wife, Diana, of Queensbury; by Maureen Tallon and her husband, Ken Knoblock, of North Grafton, Mass.; and by Christopher Tallon and his wife, Sandy, of Hebron, Ky. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ralph Tallon, son of Christopher and Sandy; and by Tara Fei Knoblock, daughter of Maureen Tallon and Ken Knoblock. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Deja, Carlito and Diego Tallon, children of Ralph Tallon. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at St. Mary's Church, Warren Street, Glens Falls. Burial will occur at a later time to be selected by the family. McCloskey, 86, of Pinewoods Road, died Monday, Aug 29, at St. Mary's, Troy, after a long illness. In the furtherance of medical science, Bill donated his body to the Albany Medical Centers Anatomical Gift Program. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Church in Schaghticoke. Smith, 72, of Shushan, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Mr. Smith was born March 9, 1933, in Sandgate, Vt., the son of the late Edison and Helen Nyrhenin Smith. He was a former truck driver and was a partner along with his brother, with the S & H Trucking in Shushan until the time of his death. Harley was a member of the Salem Fish & Game Club and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. He will be remembered for his skills operating backhoes and bulldozers. Harley is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Cordier Smith, whom he married in 1955, three children: Daniel Smith of Shushan, Theodore Smith of Hartford, and Judith Brownell of Greenwich. He is also survived by his brother, Harold "Abner" Smith of Shushan; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-granddaughter. In addition to his parents, Harley was also predeceased by a sister, Claudia Headwell. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at the convenience of the family at Evergreen Cemetery in Salem, with the Rev. Raoul Waters officiating. The family extends an invitation to Harley's family and friends to join them at the Salem Fish & Game Club, Route 29, Salem, on Saturday at 1 p.m. for a luncheon and to share memories and reflect on Harley's life.
