Nov 18, 1878--HIRAM B. TEFFT and JOHN RICHARDS, both residents of Greenwich, Washington Co, NY; both were privates in Co A 123rd Regiment NY Vols; testified to soldier's disability as given in his pension application. Dec 8, 1878--G.R. MARTINE, MD, resident of Johnsburgh, Warren Co, NY; stated that he has been a practicing physician in Johnsburgh for 17 years; that he treated soldier for rheumatism and piles. Nov 15, 1880--DANIEL GALUSHA, aged 47 years, resident of Johnsburgh, Warren Co, NY, occupation farmer; stated that he is a brother of ASEL GALUTIA; that from discharge to 1874 soldier lived with a half mile of him when claimant moved to Horicon, Warren Co, NY, about 14 miles away. Dec 14, 1880--ALMIRA STRATTON, resident of Johnsburgh, NY; stated that she has resided in Johnsburgh for the past 18 years; that she lived as near neighbor to GEORGE GALUTIA, the father of ASEL GALUTIA; that after discharge soldier lived at his father's house, married soon after coming home from the army and moved to Horicon, NY in 1874. Dec 15, 1880--CALEB BALCOM(B), aged 34 years, resident of Johnsburgh, NY, occupation farmer; stated that he has resided in Johnsburgh for 19 years; stated that he first knew soldier on his return in 1865; that soldier was ill with rheumatism and piles and was treated by Dr. G.R. Martine at his father's house in summer of 1867; that in "1868, he Galusha (then married) moved into a house on Mrs. Dennis [?] farm and worked on the farm...". Apr 23, 1889--ASEL GALUTIA, P.O. Elbow, NY; Hospital Statement: "I was first treated for disease of bladder and urinary organs at the Regimental Hospital in Va. was sent from there to Alexandria, Va. to the hospital at the Patrol Camp. Was sent from there to the Chestnut Hill Hospital above Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Was sent from there to the Old Arsenal in Phila. Penn. Was sent from there to the Lincoln Hospital in Washington, DC. Was sent from there to the invalid corps at Lincoln Hospital D.C. Was treated at all these places for above disabilities. Asel Galutia". Amsterdam, Montgomery Co, NY; stated that he is a brother of ASEL GALUTIA and served with him in Co A 123rd NY Vols. in 1862 and 1863; that claimant contracted rheumatism in Mar 1863 at Stafford Court House, VA. Feb 8, 1911--ASEL GALUTIA death certificate, State of New York; dob Sep 8, 1831, place Greenage [sic]; dod Feb 7, 1911, place Horicon, Warren Co, NY; cause of death la grippe and old age, contributory - army life; name of father GEORGE GALUTIA, birthplace unknown; name of mother BETSY McGAHEN, birthplace unknown; date of burial Feb 9, 1911 at Horicon; informant FANNIE GALUTIA, Pottersville, NY. Mar 9, 1911--FANNY GALUTIA, aged 62 years, resident of Horicon, NY; declaration for widow's pension; stated she was married to ASEL GALUTIA at Crown Point, NY on Nov 22, 1883 by W.S. Jul 28, 1911--Town clerk of Crown Point, NY certified that on Nov 22, 1882 ASEL GALUTIA of Horicon, NY, aged 52 years, born in Greenage [sic], NY, father GEORGE GALUTIA, mother BETSEY McGAIN, was married to FANNA G. SEARL of Crown Point, NY, aged 37 years, born in Crown Point, NY, father DEXTER SEARL, mother NANCY A. STANTON, W.S. Hathaway, clergyman. Dec 9, 1911--HIRAM H. ROSS, aged 65 years and LYMAN C. BRUCE, aged 65 years, both residents of Horicon, NY; stated that they were well acquainted with ASEL GALUTIA; that his first wife, MARY GALUTIA, died Jan 23, 1883 at Horicon, Warren Co, NY. Dec 16, 1911--FANNY GALUTIA, Pottersville, Warren Co, NY; form for accrued pension. Nov 23, 1916--FANNY GALUTIA, Horicon, NY; letter to Commissioner of Pensions requested increase in pension due to turning 70 years of age, stated she was born Nov 22, 1846 at Crown Point, NY. Mar 2, 1920--Receipt from Dr. HOWARD B. SWAN, Chestertown, NY for one office call and 3 house calls, total $8.00, for FANNY GALUTIA, paid by ERWIN SEARLES, Horicon, NY. Apr 24, 1920--Receipt for casket and undertaking for FANNY GALUTIA form D.W. BARTON, funeral director, Horicon, NY, paid ($100) by ERWIN SEARLS. Apr 26, 1920--ERWIN SEARLS, aged 54 years, resident of Horicon, NY; application for reimbursement; stated that he is a son of FANNY GALUTIA; that she died of chronic myocarditis, shock from fall, fracture of ribs 4,5,6 left; that she was attended in her last sickness by Dr. H.B. SWAN of Chestertown, NY, nursed by HANNAH PEASE; that she died at Starbuckville, Chestertown, NY and was buried at Underwood Cemetery, Horicon, NY; witnesses R.E.D. PAIGE and BILLY J. SMITH, both of Horicon, NY. May 1, 1920--Receipt from HANNAH PEASE: "From Dec. 1919 until Jan. 4, 1920 Mrs. Hannah Pease nursed and cared for Mrs. Fannie Galutia at .50 fifty cents per day during her last illness at Starbuckville Chestertown Warren County New York.
