FRASER, Washington Co., Surrogate) Transcribed from SAMPUBCO copy by MARY ANN SALISBURY Washington County, NY I, AMANDA SALISBURY of the town of Greenwich Washington County and state of New York being of sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament as follows Item 1st I give devise and bequeath all my property real and personal to my children SARAH, MORTIMER, HORACE, LEROY, MARY, LOUISA, THOMAS C to their heirs and assigns forever to be equally divided between them with the exceptions herein after mentioned. Item 2nd I give and bequeath to my Son-In-Law LOUIS PHILO the sum of two thousand five hundred dollars in trust nevertheless for the exclusive use and benefit of my said daughter SARAH said sum of two thousand five hundred dollars is to be all I herein bequeath to my said daughter SARAH for her benefit with the exception herein after mentioned. Item 3rd To each of my said sons I give and bequeath one bed with its bedding. Item 4th I give and bequeath to my son MORTIMER my bay horse and to my son HORACE my horse named Jimbo. Item 5th All my household furniture and household goods with the exception of the said beds I give, devise, and bequeath to all my daughters to be by them equally divided between them. And if they fail in making such division then the same may be divided by my executor and equally as their judgment and discretion direct. Item 6th The foregoing bequest of two thousand five hundred dollars by me made in trust for my said daughter SARAH shall entitle her to the interest only on said sum during her natural life and at her death said sum shall be equally divided between all my other said children or the representations of them. Item 7th I will and direct that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my personal property not herein specifically bequeathed but exclusively out of the surplus remaining and if there be not sufficient surplus then the balance shall be paid out of my real estate. I hereby nominate and appoint DR. HENRY GRAY of the Village of Greenwich, NY the executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have set my hand at Greenwich this 29th Day of January 1883. AMANDA M. SALISBURY The foregoing instrument was at the date thereof subscribed by the above named AMANDA SALISBURY in our presence and in the presence of each other and she at the same time declared it to be her last will and testament and requested us to sign the same as subscribing witnesses. SALISBURY deceased Washington County JAMES WHITE and HENRY L. HEATH being duly sworn in open court, depose and say that they were acquainted with the above named AMANDA M. SALISBURY in her life-time and that they and each of them were present and saw her subscribe her name the end of the instrument in writing now produced and exhibited to them, purporting to be the last will and testament of the said deceased, bearing date the 29th day of January AD one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three. That the said deceased at the time of subscribing her name as aforesaid, published and declared the said instrument to be her last will and testament in the presence of these deponents and each of them, and these deponents at the request of the said deceased and in her presence and in the presence of each other, subscribed their names respectively thereto as witnesses to the execution thereof. That at the time of the execution thereof, the said deceased was a citizen of the United States, above the age of twenty-one years, of sound disposing mind and memory and not under restraint to the best of the knowledge, information and belief of these deponents.
