Marion, Wayne County

New York, Land Records, Wayne County, Deeds, Volume 30, page 386.
	This Indenture made the twentieth day of January in the year of our 
Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two between Jacob P. Garlock of the 
town of Marion county of Wayne and state of New York, and Maria his wife of 
the first part and Richard Garlock of the town county and state aforesaid of 
the second part.  Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part for and in 
consideration of the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars to him in duly paid 
hath sold and by these presents doth grant and convey to the said party of the 
second part all that certain piece of land, situate in Marion aforesaid and is 
distinguished by being part of lot No. Two in the third range of the township 
No 13 thirteen range two, beginning at a stake standing in William Coggshells 
shout line being Jacob Hesters N.E. Corner thence north twenty nine and half 
degrees east one chain forty links to a stake thence south twenty degrees east 
thirty eight links to a stake thence south eighty eight and half degrees east 
six chains twelve links to a stake standing on Jacob P. Garlocks west line 
being William Cogshells S.E. corner thence one degree east one chain eighty 
nine links thence south twenty degrees east five chains seventy seven links to 
a stake being Jacob Garlocks N.E. corner thence south seventy five and half 
degrees west along sd Garlocks north line eight chains seven links to a post 
in a fence thence north seventy five degrees west along the north line of 
Laura Chapons Mill race three chains sixty one links to a stake thence north 
one degree west one chain seventeen links to a stake thence north thirty four 
degrees east one chain forty links to a stake, thence north eighty four and 
half degrees east one chain seventy six links to a stake thence north nine 
degrees west six chains seventy two links to the place of beginning containing 
seven acres and eighty six rods;  Also from Jacob Hestor’s S.E. corner a piece 
of land for a road, running to an highway bounded by J. Hestors south line 
twenty four links in width bearing south eighty two and half degrees west.  
With the appurtenances and all the estate title and interest of the said party 
of the first part therein.  And the said Jacob P. Garlock for himself and his 
heirs doth hereby covenant and agree that at the delivery hereof he was the 
lawful owner of the premises above granted and seized of a good and 
indefeasible estate of inheritance therein free and clear of all 
incumberances, and that he will warrant and defend the above granted premises 
in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said  party of the second part, 
his heirs and assigns forever.  In witness whereof the party of the first 
part, hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.

Wayne County ss:  On the 20th day of January 1842 before me Benjamin B. Durfee 
a Justice of the Peace in and for the said county came Jacob P. Garlock and 
Mariah his wife, whom I know to be the grantors described in and who executed 
the above Deed and acknowledged they had executed the same.  And the said 
Mariah on a private examination separate and apart from her husband 
acknowledged she had executed the same freely and without fear or compulsion
