Marion, Wayne County

New York, Land Records, Wayne County, Deeds Volume 33, page 45.
	This Indenture, made the Eighteenth day of December in the year of our 
Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty, between Sydney A. Pratt of Marion. 
Wayne County and State of New York & Esther his wife of the first part, and 
Jacob Garlock of the of seven hundred dollars, to them duly paid, have sold, 
and by these presents do grant and convey to the said party of the second 
part, his heirs and assigns:  All that certain tract or parcel of land, 
situate in said town of Marion, being the south east part of Lot number eight 
in the third range of lots in township thirteen in the second range of 
townships; bounded as follows; beginning in the centre of the highway at the 
south east corner of said lot; thence north three degrees & forty nine minutes 
East fifty two rods; thence West three degrees North seventy nine rods; thence 
South one degree East fifty one rods and one half rod to the south line of 
said lot; thence East three degrees and twenty minutes south seventy five rods 
to the place of beginning; containing twenty four acres, and one hundred and 
thirty three rods.  With the appurtenances, and all the estate, title and 
interest of the said parties of the first part therein.  And the said Sydney 
A. Pratt for himself, his executors & administrators does hereby covenant and 
agree, that at the delivery hereof he is the lawful owner of the premises 
above granted and seized of a good and indefeasible estate of in heritance 
therein, free and clear of all incumbrances, and that he will warrant and 
Defend the above granted premises in the quiet and peaceable possession of the 
said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever.
In Witness Whereof the parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands 
and seals the day and year first above written.

State of New York.
Wayne County ss:  On the 18 day of December 1840 before me Marvin Rich a Judge 
in and for the said County, came Sydney A. Pratt & Esther his wife, whom I 
know to same town of the second part, witnesseth, that the said parties of the 
first part for and in consideration of the sum be the Grantors described and 
who executed the above Deed, and acknowledged they had executed the same.  And 
the said Esther on a private examination, separate and apart from her husband, 
acknowledged she had executed the same, freely and without fear or compulsion 
of her said husband.  The word “thirteen” interlined before acknowledging.
	A true Copy  Recorded August 8, 1843 at 12 o’clock M.
