(Viz) After my just debts and funeral charges are paid I give and bequeath into my beloved wife one third of my estate real and personal. The remainder I give and bequeath to my six children, namely James Rogers, Mary Marshall, Isaac Rogers, Sarah Watson, Peleg Rogers, and Matthew Rogers Jr. to be equally divided between them. Also, I give to my two grandchildren Joseph D. Rogers and George Rogers, each one hundred dollars to be given to them as they arrive to the age of twenty one. Further, I nominate, constitute, and appoint my beloved wife Phebe Rogers, together with my son Isaac Rogers, sole executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have her unto set my hand seal this. Signed, sealed, witnessed and declared by the said testator Matthew Rogers, as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our names as witness thereto. 12th of 11th Mo 1837. Watson Isaac Rogers Matthew Rogers Jr. Phebe Rogers of the town of Galen in the said County being duly affirmed says, that Matthew Rogers died a natural death at the town of Galen in said County of Wayne which was the place of his residence, on the twentieth day of November last past - that the said Matthew Rogers left a last will and Testament bearing date the twelfth day of November last past. That the said will relates to both real and personal estate. That the afferant is named executrix in the said will and is the widow of the said deceased. That James Rogers of Galen aforesaid, Mary Marshall, the wife of Hiram Marshall, who resides in Senaway County in the State of Michigan, Isaac Rogers who resides in Junius in the County of Seneca, is executor named in said will, Sarah Watson the wife of Stephen Y. Watson of Galen aforesaid, Peleg Rogers of Galen aforesaid, Matthew Rogers Junior of Galen aforesaid, Joseph D. Rogers and George Rogers of Galen aforesaid, are the heirs and the next of kin to the said deceased. That the said Joseph D. Rogers is the son of John Rogers late of the said town of Galen deceased and is a minor under twenty one years of age. That the said George Rogers is the son of Richard Rogers late of the said town of Galen deceased, and is also a minor under the age of twenty one years. And that the said Joseph D. Rogers and George Rogers have no genuine guardians. And the affirmant further says that she was present at the time of the execution of the said last will and testament of the said Matthew Rogers deceased. That immediately after the execution of the said will, the said Matthew Rogers handed the same to the affirmant, and requested her to keep it. That the affirmant then and there took the said will and kept the same safely and securely in her possession, from that time until the nineteenth day of December 1837, when she delivered the same into the hands of the surrogate of said county of Wayne and that wile the said will was in her possession as aforesaid, no alterations, interdirections, obliterations, or erasures were made in said will.
