Written: March 24 1850

In the name of God Amen. The last will & testament of Caleb Knapp of Marion in
the County of Wayne, State of New York. I Caleb Knapp considering the
uncertainty of this mortal life being of sound mind & memory (blessed be
Almighty God for the same) do make & publish this my last will and testament
in manner & form as follows (that is to say) I give and bequeath unto my
oldest daughter, Phebe Atwell twenty acres of land which in the south west
part of the farm in which I now resided commencing in the east line of the
farm in the centre of the public highway there ?northeasty? along the centre
of said highway so far north as that a line further center of said highway
west in a parallel line with the south bounds of the said farm to the west
line of the said farm as shall ? twenty acres as aforesaid together with 
the abundances therein being to have & to hold the same to her & to her heirs
forever & also to have the free use & occupancy of the whole farm her natural
life & also use half the barn situated in the east side the public highway
aforesaid with sufficient yard for the accommodation of stock & ingress &
egress to & from said barn to have & to hold the same during her natural life.
I give and bequeath unto my said daughter Phebe Atwell & my youngest daughter
Rebecca Rice all household furniture that was their mothers which my remain at
my decease to be divided equally between them & the remainder the furniture &
likewise my provisions: meat grain & all kind of eatables of whatever kind &
nature which shall remain at my decease I give & bequeath to my oldest
daughter Phebe Atwell to have & to hold for her especial use and lastly after
payment of my debts legacies & funeral expenses for which I believe ? will b?
d? movebles sufficient for the same I give & bequeath all the rest & residue
of my real & personal estate except the spot of land now occupied as burial
place which I would reserve for that purpose inviolate forever to Mary Knapp,
Elias Knapp, Asahel Knapp, Charles Knapp & Caleb Knapp ? my sons & to my 
daughters Phebe Atwell & Rebecca Rice to be divided equally between them to
have & to hold the same to them & to their heirs forever. In witness thereof I
have hereunto set my hand & seal this 24th day of March in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred fifty.
