I hereby revoke all former wills by me made. In witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty three. Mudge residing in the city of Rochester in the county of Monroe and State of New York ______________ Notes: Soon after his will was written, John Nichols and several of his children removed to Williamson, Wayne Co., NY, where he died 12 May 1862. He is buried in Pleasant View Cemetery as are two daughters, Diana and Juliana. Heirs as listed in probate records were Charles Nichols, Onalaska, La Crosse Co, WI; George Nichols, Madison, Dane Co., WI; Asa Nichols, Oakley (Spring Grove), Green Co., WI; Diana Yale (wife of Noah Yale) and Laura J. Northrup (wife of Albert H. Northrup, formerly wife of Daniel Hine), both of Williamson. Three more of the Nichols' children (Elijah, Juliana and Trowbridge) are known to have outlived their father. Why they were not included in his will still is unknown. John's wife and their mother, Sarah (Corbin) Nichols, died 9 Apr 1850 in Perinton.
