He married (first), December, 1731, Margaret Laing, born 1710, daughter of John Laing; (second) Mary Laing, daughter of John Laing. His children were: Samuel, born October 24, 1732, died December 8, 1753; John, of whom later; Daniel, born March 7, 1736, married Catharine F. Randolph, died January 29, 1814; Isaac, born January 27, 1737, married Mary McGovern, died November 10, 1794; David, born June 5, 1740, married Phebe Jackson, died August 7, 1823; Jacob, born September 3, 1742, died July 8, 1823; Abraham, born September 22, 1744, married Margaret F.
