Will of Rubine Hutchings, 1d 5m 1769. Be it Remembered that on this first day of the fifth month in the year of our Lord one thousand sevend hundred and sixty nine I Rubine Hutchins of Northcastle in the County of Westchester and Province of New York being of sound mind and memory thanks be given to God and therefore calling to mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is apointed for all Men and Women once to Die Do make this my last Will and Testament that is to say Princepaly of all I Resine my soul into the hand of God that gave it me and as for my Body I recommend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors and as touching such earthly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this Life I give and dispose of in the foloing manner and form, Impris first I order my funeral charges and next all my just and lawful depts to be well and truly paid. Item I give to my son Joshua Hutchins all my bonds bills notes and book depts after my funeral charges and just Depts is paid Item I give to my Daughter Suanah Hutchins all my wereing aparel excepting my best Gown and also I give my said Daughter all the rest of my moveable Estate that I have not alredy Deposed of Excepting the gown as before mentioned and Suels history and Gorge foxes Journal which I despose of as followeth that is to say Item I give my best gound to barshaba Smith Item I give William Sewels History to Jeams Hutchins son of Joshua Hutchins Item I give to Elihu Griffen son of John Griffen my book that is called Gorge Foxes jurnel Item Make and apoint my trusty friend William Cornwell and John Griffen both of the manner of Phillipsburge in the County and Province above said Executors of this my Will in trust for the Intents and purposes herein contained whome I do order and Impower to Destribute my Estat in manner as beforemention in this my Will and I do hereby utterly disalow and Revouck all other Wills and Testaments mad by me before this date Ratafying and alowing this and no other to be my last Will and Testament Signed sealed published pronounced and delivered by the said Rubine Hutchins as her last Will and Testaments in the presents of us the subscribers Ruben (her R Mark) Hutchings (L.S.) Stephan (his O Mark) White, Judith Griffen, John Griffen Westchester County S.S. Be it Remembered that on the sixth day of April one thousand seven hundred and seventy four personally came and appeared before me David Dayton Surrogate of the said County Stephen White of said County, Farmer and being duly sworn on his Oath declared , and Judith Griffen of said County Labourer made Affirmation that they and each of them did see Rubine Hutchings sign her mark and seal the within written Instrument purportong to be the Will of the said Rubine Hutchings bearing date May the first one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine and heard her publish and declare the Same as and for her last Will and Testament that at the Time thereof she the said Rubine Hutchings was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of them the Deponents and that the mark and name subscribed to the said Will are of their respective proper hands Writing which they subscribed as witnesses to the said Will in the Testators presence and that they the Deponents saw John Griffen the other Witness to the said Will subscribe his name as witness thereto in the Testators presence. Be it Remembered that on the sixth day of April one Thousand seven hundred and seventy four John Griffen one of the Executors of the within written will of Rubine Hutchings likewise appeared before me the said David Dayton and made affirmation to the true Execution and Performance of the said Will by taking the affirmation of an Executor as by Law appointed before me. David Dayton Surrogate Cadwallader Colden Esquire his majestys Lieutenant Governor and Commander in Chief of the Province of New York and the Territories depending thereon in America To All to whom these presents shall come or may concern sendeth Greeting Know Ye that at Westchester County on the sixth day of April last before David Dayton Esquire thereunto delegated and appointed the last Will and Testament of Rubene Hutchins deceased (a copy whereof is hereto annexed was proved and is now approved and allowed of by me and the said deceased having whilst she lived and at the Time of her Death Goods Chattles and Credits within this Province by means whereof the proving and registering the said Will and the granting Administration of all and singular the said Goods Chattles and Credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto me, The administration of all and singular the Goods Chattles and Credits of the said deceased and any way concerning her Will is granted unto John Griffen one of the Executors in the said Will named he being first duly sworn well and faithfully to administer the same and to make and exhibit a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the said Goods Chattles and Credits and also render a just and true account thereof when thereunto required. In Testimony whereof I have caused the Prerogative seal of the Province of New York to be hereunto affixed at Fort George in the City of New York the twenty ninth day of April one Thousand seven hundred and seventy four.
