I, William Robinson Senr. of Bedford in the County of Westchester and Provence of New York being through the abundance mercy of God tho weake and sick of body yet of a perfect understanding and memory do constitute this to be my last Will and Testament and desire the same may be received by all as such -- First. I most humbly bequeath my soul to God my maker beseeching his most gracious acceptance of it through the all sufficient merits and mediation of my compassionat redeemer Jesus Christ blessed be God. I give my body to the earth from whence it was taken to be buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named as to my worldy estate I will and positve order that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid -- First. I give unto my dear and beloved wife one cow.-- Secondly I give and bequeath unto my oldest son, Joseph, to be paid to him by my two youngest sons, William and Jabez the sum of one hundred pounds New York money. Thirdly I order that my lands be divided equally between my two youngest sons, William and Jabez which I give to them and to their heirs forever. I likewise order that William and Jabez pay to their five sisters these sums hereafter mentioned, to their sister Sary ten pounds, to their second sister Mary the sum of ten pounds, to their third sister Hannah, the sum of five pounds, to their fourth sister, Zilphaha the sum of five pounds. To their fifth sister Philathata the sum of twenty pounds and to my son William I give all my movable estate that is left after my debts is paid and William and Jabz my two youngest sons I order that they shall take care of their mother as long as she livs if she remain a widow and consitute my son William to be my sole Executor of this my last Will and Testiment and a trustee for his mother. Be it remembered that on this twenty fourth day of May one thousand seven hundred and eighty six personally came and appeared before me Richard Hatfield Esquire surrogate of the said County Jesse Miller of Bedford in the said County of Westchester Weaver and being duly sworn on his oath declared that he did see William Robinson deceased sign and seal the within written instrument purporting to be the Will of the said William Robinson bearing date the twelfth day of September in the year of our Lord 1776 and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last Will and Testament that at the time thereof he the said William Robinson was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of the Deponent and that Jonathan Miller Junior and Samuel Wood together with the Deponent subscribed the said Will as Witnesses thereto in the presence of the Testator. The People of the State of New York by the grace of God Free and Independent to all to whom these presents shall come or may concern -- send Greeting, Known Ye that at Westchester County on the twenty fourth day of May instant before Richard Hatfield Esquire thereunto by us delegated and appointed the last Will and Testament of William Robinson deceased (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was proved and is now approved and allowed of by us and the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of his death Goods Chattels or Credits within this State by means whereof the proving and registering the said Will and the granting administration of all and singular the said goods Chattels and Credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto us the administration of all and singular and goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased and anyway concerning his Will is granted unto William Robinson the Executor in the said Will named he being first duly sworn well and faithfully to Administer the same and to make and exhibit a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the said goods Chattels and Credits and also to renders just and true account thereof when there unto required. In Testimony whereof we have caused the seat of our Court of Probates to be hereunto affixed.
