This one is for Samuel SANDS dated 8 Oct 1798, and
filed March 7, 1806. It is from Liber F pages 193 & 194 of the surogates
court records.


Be it known to all men by these presents that I Samuel SANDS of the
township of New Castle in the County of Westchester and State of New
York being of sound mind and memory calling to mind the uncertainty of
this life do make this my last Will and Testament for the disposal of my
estate in the following maner, First I order after my decease all my
funeral charges and just depts to be paid out of my estate by my
Executors hereafter mentioned also I give to my wife Martha SANDS her
dowery and right of thirds and the best bed in my house one horse and
cow and what other household furnature she hath need of. I order enough
of my moveable estate sold to pay my debts and if that is not enough I
order part of my land sold for the same purpose enough to discharge my
debts. Also it is my will that my two daughters Penninah and Martha
SANDS have a home at my house as long as they remain single also it is
my will that my daughter Susanah SMITH should have a home at my house as
long as she remains destitute of a home. Also I give to my two daughters
Penninah and Martha SANDS each one bed and bedding and twenty pounds
apiece in money, the money to be paid them one year after my decease and
if not then paid to have the interest of the same untill paid. Also it
is my will that my son Abijah SANDS pay said mentioned legacys and then
I give him all the rest of my estate both land and moveables. Also I
nominate and appoint my wife Martha SANDS and daughter Penninah SANDS
Executuxes and my son Abijah SANDS Executor of this my last Will and
Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this
eighth day of the tenth month called October in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred ninety eight, Samuel SANDS. Signed, sealed and
published and pronounced by the siad Samuel SANDS as his last Will and
Testament in the presence of us,  Samuel SANDS Jun., Sarah SANDS, Samuel
SANDS 3d.
