I do order my Executors in a convenient time after my decease to pay my just debts and funeral charges out of my personal estate. Then, I do give and bequeath unto my loving wife Sarah Vail the use and improvement of the whole of my estate both real and personal until my children come of age to bring them ____upon. Then I give and bequeath unto my wife Sarah Vail the improvement of one third part of my real estate during her natural life, and two hundred pounds York money, to be paid to her by my executors in a convenient time after my decease. Then I give unto my three sons namely William Vail, Thomas Vail and John Vail, the whole of my real estate to be equally divided between them in quantity and quality by my Executors. Then I give unto my daughter, Martha Ferris two hundred and fifty pounds York money. Then I give unto my daughter Phebe Vail three hundred and fifty pounds. Then I give unto my two grand Daughters Phebe Haviland and Hannah Haviland, one hundred and twenty five pounds each. It is my will that my son William Vail shall pay four hundred and fifty pounds to the daughters and grand daughters above mentioned. And it is my will that my son Thomas Vail pay two hundred pounds to be distributed as above mentioned, and it is my will that my son John Vail pay two hundred pounds to be distributed as above mentioned. Then I give all the remainder of my moveable estate to my wife and children to be equally divided between them, except my two grand daughters to have half as much each of them as one of the others. Finally I hereby constitute Joseph Carpenter (my brother in law) and Thomas Clapp of Greenwich to be my Executors to this last Will and Testament in in ____ whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety five.
