WILL OF WILLIAM VAIL:

In The Name of God Amen I William Vail of the town of North Salem in the
County of Westchester and State of New York. Being of sound and disposing mind
and memory; and of good bodily health considering my age: do make publish and
declare this to be my last Will and Testament in form and manner following
that is to say: _________ 

First: I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid by my 
executors hereinafter named- 

Secondly: I do hereby give and bequeath unto my Grand-daughter Mary P. Vail, 
daughter of my dear son Edward B. Vail deceased, now residing in the Town of 
North Salem Westchester County New York. the sum of Five Thousand Dollars to
her and her heirs and representatives forever, to and for her separate use and 
maintanance 

Thirdly: I do hereby give, devise and bequeath all the rest and residue of my 
estate both real personal and mixed of every name and nature and whatsoever
and wheresoever the same may be unto my dear sons Thomas C. Vail and Joseph W.
Vail to be divided equally between them share and share alike to them and each
of them and their heirs and representative forever

Fourthly I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me made and do hereby nominate 
and appoint my said sons Thomas C. Vail of the Town of North Salem Westchester 
County New York and Joseph W. Vail of De Moines in the State of Iowa to be the 
Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby direct and
require that no bonds be required or demanded of them or either of them upon
their appointment as executors or executor of this my last Will and Testament 
________________________ 

In witness whereof I have unto this my last Will and Testament set my hand and 
seal this fifth day of January in the year of Lord one thousand Eight Hundred 
and eighty one ________________

The foregoing instrument was by William Vail the testator therein named signed 
sealed published and declared by him to be his last Will and Testament in the 
presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each 
other have hereunto signed our names as witnesses at the end thereof this
fifth day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one
