All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.org/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.org/ny/nyfiles.htm *********************************************************************** Source: Wyoming County Court, Lis Pendens, Vol. 2 page 1 Written: 1 July 1864 State of New York Supreme Court, County of Wyoming John Griswold against Jacob Ahl and Catherine Ahl} Notice is hereby given, That an action has ben commenced and is pending in this Court, upon a complaint of the above name plaintiff against the above named defendants, for the foreclosure of a mortgage bearing date the sixteenth day of October one thousand eight hundred and sixty three, executed by Catherine Ahl of the town of Bennington, County of Wyoming and State of New York, to John Griswold of the town of Darien in the County of Genesee and recorded in the Clerk's office of the County of Wyoming on the sixth day of November one thousand eight hundred and sixty three in Liber 31 of Mortgage, at page 235, at 11 o'clock in the fore noon; and that the morrgaged premises in the last mentioned County, effected by the said foreclosure, were at the time of commencement of this action, and at the time of filing this notice are situated in the town of Bennington, County of Wyoming and State of New York, in the last mentioned County, and described in the said mortgage as follows, to wit: All that tract or parcel of land, situate in the town of Bennington, County of Wyoming and State of New York, and is distinguished as part of lot number eight in the tenth township and fourth Range of lands as surveyed for the Holland Land Company by Joseph Ellicott, Surveyor, bounded as follows: Beginning eight chains seventeen links from the southwest corner of lot number eight in said township; thence Northerly along the west line of said lot twenty two chains six links; thence Easterly along the north line of said lot eight three chains and fifty four links; thence Sutherly along the east line of said lot; thirty chains seventeen links thence Westerly along the south line of said lot twenty seven chains ninety four links; thence Northerly along the centre of the Allegany Road thirteen chains fifty four links; thence Westerly fifty nine chains eighty five links to the place of beginning, containing one hundred ninety two and 29/100 acres of land, being the same more or less, Exceptin and reserving from the above described premises twenty acres of land of the northeast corner of said Lot, conveyed by deed by Richard King and wife to John Hogle, also one other piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the town, county and State aforesaid being part of lot number eight in the tenth township and fourth range as surveyed for the Holland Land Company by Joseph Ellicott, Surveyor, bounded as follows: Beginning in the west line of said lot number eight, eight chains seventeen links, North of the southwest corner of said lot; thence East parallel with the south line of said lot fifty eight chains thirty four links to the centre of the Allegany Road; thence Northeasterly along the centre of said road four chains thirty one links, and thence Southwesterly in a diagonal line to the west line of said lot to the place of beginning, containing about twelve & 35/100 acres of land being the same or or less.
