I James Velzy of the town of Perry county of Wyoming and state of New York do make, publish, and declare this my last will and testament in the manner and form following: First- I give and bequeath to my wife Mary Ann Velzy the use, rents, interest, and income of fifty acres of land off the north end of my farm on which I now reside during the term of her natural life. Second- After the decease of my said wife Mary Ann Velzy, I give, devise, and bequeath the same fifty acres of land to my son William R. Velzy. Third- I give, devise, and bequeath to my son Milton D. Velzy all the remainder of my real estate, but he shall pay to my daughter Eliza A. McLaughlin the interest upon one thousand dollars annually during the term of her natural life, and after her decease pay the principal of one thousand dollars to her legal heirs, or if Milton D. Velzy should die before Eliza A. McLaughlin, then the principal of one thousand dollars should be paid to the said Eliza A. McLaughlin and when so paid the interest thereon shall cease. Fourth- I give and bequeath to my wife Mary Ann Velzy all my personal property of every name and kind after paying all my just debts and funeral expenses. The bequests herein to be accepted and received by her in lieu of dower and all right of dower. Fifth I hereby nominate, constitute, and appoint Eugene Jeffres executor hereof and I hereby authorize him to sell and convey the fifty acres of land herein bequeathed and devised to my wife Mary Ann Velzy and William R. Velzy at such times and in such manner as shall seem for the best interests of my said wife and son and if such sale is made, the interest of the proceeds of such sale and the principal finally shall be distributed in the same manner as herein before provided for in the real estate. And I hereby revoke all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this 29th day of January, 1874. James Velzy (L.S.)
